we have a disabled son so we had the converted room although we had slight problem entering the room Anthony had a number of solutions to over come the problem and he and his staff made it an enjoyable experience
never been to a hotel with so many friendly staff, everyone from cleaner to manager had smile for you........top staff indeed
not keen on main road in front of sea view as very busy but you get used to it after a day
The food was very good.
The bed was very uncomfortable. The room was as far away from reception as the car park.
The friendly atmosphere.
We stay at the Corbyn Head every time we are in Torquay, we love it. Angie on reception is great, nothing is ever too much trouble. It's so lovely to walk into a hotel & be remembered. Good old fashion values. Christmas time always really special there. Would thoughly recommend.
The location which is about a 25 minute walk from the town. The staff were helpful and friendly.and breakfast was plentiful, tasty and well presented. We had a room with a lovely view overlooking the bay.
Hard mattress and even harder pillows that didn't do mature bones a lot of good at all. It would have been nice to have sat in bed the next morning with a cuppa watching the news on t.v.but the way the furniture is placed that's impossible.
Friendly staff, Good food and lovely afternoon tea sit in the lounge by the christmas tree.
Bed to hard. Did ask if they had a soft bed, they didn't know.
All was really good and very relaxing.service excellent, Food too.
Having to leave!
Bar lounge & restaurant excellent
Bath room was very small and needs up dating.
location food bar staff
bedroom needed a good clean
Pretty double room, very nice and warm. Nice breakfast although poor variety.
Dust in every corner of the room, walls and ceilings... even on the tea tray. Bed covers were nearly black, stained,it seemed like never washed.
the sea view location.. free car parking..friendly staff... good breakfast...
our room was at the very end of the building.... you could feel the cold in the corridor leading to our room.. the room was very cold and only had one very small heater could not sleep as to cold.....the bed was 2 singles together instead of the stated double... the bathroom was very dated and freezing one small towel heater that did not work..
Wonderful staff, excellent breakfast, well-stocked bar, close to everything
Cannot think of anything
food was excellent. Good sea view and comfortable room.
shower was n't working properly, did offer us a change of room.
The staff, the food.
Sleeping so close to the main coast-road.
Generally staff were very friendly but the bar service was slow! Breakfast was excellent!
Slow bar service and expensive drinks.
The view from the bar, the friendliness of all the staff. The lovely gardens.
Sea view room was overlooking the main road so consequently very noisy. The price of the room was on the dear side for this time of year. Having stayed in hotels all over the UK, surely it is better to have a full hotel in the off peak periods with visitors paying £50 a night for bed/breakfast and a discounted evening meal than having a hotel that is mostly empty. The hotel will tick over with the added bonus of more people in the restaurant and bar spending money. A lot of hotels have adopted this approach, especially in Cornwall. I and many of my friends take advantage of these deals and spend many days in the winter away in these hotels.
the warm, friendly, welcoming atmosphere made our stay a very enjoyable experience. The food was excellent, served in a delightful dining room overlooking the sea.The rooms are clean and well serviced, and perhaps could do with an update, but we would not hesitate to return
Dinner was outstanding with superb service. Very friendly relaxed atmosphere Good live entertainment
There is quite a bit of traffic noise but being on the coastal road that runs the length of the sea front this is inevitable if you want to be close to the sea in this area.
Dinner was very good, most of the staff were excellent.
Our room was shabby to say the least and we had actually been upgraded !! Rooms were not clean, having to fight through the cobwebs to open the window. The shower was terrible, with barely enough water to get wet. Breakfast was cold, with an indifferent reaction from staff, however for the most part the staff were very friendly and obliging. the entire hotel is in need of investment / refurbishment.
the view from the room was good .the breakfast was nice .the fact we could make our own drinks in the room the bathroom was very nice and up to date .
the big dip in the mattress, the fact that the room was dirty.no hot water when you needed it for the shower, the fact that you had to sit or lie on the bed to watch the tele ,the patio furniture sliding around above us at 3 o'clock in the morning when the weather was bad,the guttering was blocked right outside out window, there didn't seem to be an evening menu,i didn't like the fact that they cleared finished breakfast dishes away from the table before everyone had finished , the furniture in the room was shabby ,
Very helpful staff throughout my stay. Happy smiley people
Old fashioned bed
the staff at the reception were very helpful and nice.
the staff in the dinning room were not helpful at all. one morning they left me sitting with no breakfast , as they forgot mine and only brought out mum and dads. next morning it happened again. they took are spoons away before we had finished. my dad asked for some tom sauce and they gave him an empty bottle which they knew was empty. we were never asked if we would like any extra toast, but we heard other guests asked if they would like extra toast. The head waiter never smiled or hardly spoke.so this has put me off coming back to corbyn head hotel.
The room, dirty. The bed, would have been more comfortable sleeping on the floor.Decor very dated.receptionist did offer another room but stay already ruined with lack of sleep.A bit odd was the two lamps but only one lightbulb and the size 16 coat hanger hanging from the curtain.
