When I checked in I was given a classic double room, which I had not
booked, when I went back to reception and queried I was treated
professionally and offered a different room, at the same time at the
reception the manager on duty offered me to upgrade to a deluxe double
room, if available, certainly with the fee to pay for it. I was shown
the alternative room, which happened to be again just a classic double
room, After heading back down to the reception, my reservation was
obvioulsy checked and I eventually got the deluxe double room which I
originally had booked.
In this deluxe double room, which I liked straight away, the towel for the floor in the bathroom was missing, which was immediately taken care of. I am still wondering, if it is usual in a 4* hotel to have the towels hanging on the rack in the bathroom rather than left folded on the rack.
The "Do Not Disturb" sign, which is in all hotels worldwide hanging on the inside door handle of the door, was lying on the table.
For the benefit of the staff I have to say, that at the same time guests were checking in for a wedding function and despite being stressed, due to this additional factor to "business as usual", the staff at the reception desk was polite and professional, but still all of this should not have happened. I am wherever and whenever staying in at least 4* hotels and something similar never happend to me before.
