Score from 575 reviews Very good
Decent guiness. Comfortable bed. Nice breakfast.
Dog barking in nearby room.
Difficult to give an opinion either way...it was just an overnight stay.
No restaurant/food facilities from 2pm - 6pm; expensive bar.
Very pretty exterior. Country style comfy hotel
Convenient hotel with good parking, we were attending a family function therefore did not spend much time there, very quiet comfortable room, breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice. We would like to stay again when next in area. Staff were helpful and advised when we arrived that a coach trip would be arriving and using facilities just in case it would impact on our visit i.e if we wanted an evening meal or early breakfast. We didn't have any problems as when we went for breakfast the coach party had left and all food choices had been replenished.
Very poor windows next to busy road, did not sleep well
Value for money.Good restaurant.
Good location for our visit, nice tidy room, comfortable bed, lovely breakfast and good price.
No wifi (Internet through ethernet cable, supplied) not much use for mobile phone.
Breakfast included at the weekend
No fried eggs at breakfast just scrambled eggs. The bar did not open until 6pm
My extended family have been staying at The Cornmill since it was built. Whenever we require overnight stays for family togethers we know we will be looked after and well fed here.
Banging our heads on the sloped ceilings.
Friendly knowledgeable staff , and had good banter with receptionist on arrival . Nice quiet location and very comfortable room .
Only disappointment was bar not open until 6 and normally closed at 10-30
Price, handy but not in Leeds city centre, plenty of free parking, attractive building. Generally a pleasant place.
No table cloths at breakfast Saturday, dining room looked like it was not set up after a busy Friday night. Only large circular tables or one long table available. Only scrambled eggs, no fried, boiled etc. are offered. Have stayed twice and coffee has run out both times at breakfast and not been replenished.
Sunday breakfast was inedible. No fresh eggs, everything overcooked or using the cheapest possible ingredients. Location: Not in the greatest part of Leeds. Long way from Centre Receptionist much more interested in screen in front of her and telephone calls than real live people standing in front of her. Room price was very high for what was on offer.
good varity, special thanks to Wayne for making us a to go bag of croissants for our early departure, Had a good time, we will be back.
the eggs, everyday they were only offered scrambled ( And think they were powered eggs, not real )sitting in water.
Convenient to center of Leeds without being in city.
No wifi in rooms
The bed was comfy.
The water pressure was almost nonexistent and the hot water ran out. The staff were not helpful nor were they friendly or welcoming.
Bedrooms were clean
Public areas restaurant dated outdoor seating area dirty could do with a jet wash. Breakfast very basic no fried eggs!!! Scrambled only
I checked out the reviews before booking. The majority were positive (you can't please all the people all the time), so I went ahead. The Lodge was a delight. The staff were friendly but unfussy, leaving the family to get on with their stay. There was always someone to answer the questions about transport links and local sites to visit. The car park was spacious and secure (a big plus for me). Special mention goes to the unknown character that looks after the plants that adorn the place, they were stunning and a testament to a lot of hard work. The food on offer (and the beer) was of high order and it is the first time I have disappointed hotel staff who asked, "Are you sure you don't want a cooked breakfast?" I felt guilty. To make up, I had the breakfast on the last day before returning to Germany. Well worth the effort.
I often read the negative points and feel that some people can be very nit-picky and come across as sour-faced. At a real stretch, I would note that there are no loo brushes, to save embarrassment. To be fair, our maid said, "Don't worry love, that's what we are here for". Brilliant Northern hospitality.
Location good stayed a few times would recommend
Unfortunately we didn't have any water on the Mornin if our check out my husband managed to have a rinse in the shower but it was gone when it was my turn ... The toilet obviously wouldn't flush also.
The property was beautiful and was in a great location. Lovely outdoor seating area and flowers which were blooming.
The staff were rude especially the manager Graham. When we asked a member of staff to wipe a table so as we could eat breakfast she asked 'which one'. When we told her where we wanted to sit she only cleaned that one table and left the others filthy! Only small amounts of each breakfast item were put out at once so by the time you waited for other items your existing ones had gone cold. Only filter coffee was available at breakfast. The coffee machine for other varieties such as espresso could not be turned on until 12.
Ample parking space (necessary for us as we were in a big truck). Comfortable room and bed. Staff very pleasant. Excellent value for money.
Late check In facility Easy to find Beautiful outdoor seating area Good sized car park Good wifi access Building was modern and we'll kept
Cleanliness of the bathroom needed attention. There was rusty shower curtain rails An inch of dust on top of the bathroom door Tiles were botched together in the bathroom. Too much noise allowed in the early hours with the guests coming and going. TV reception in the room was intermittent Hours of food service in the restaurant not long enough. No room service Not enough Tea And Coffee provided. No spare pillows in the wardrobe as indicated. so all in all this hotel would be better if attention to detail was paid for the amount of money paid.
Friendly welcome, lovely room, what more can you ask for..
Nothing to dislike - convenient location, ample parking...
