noise of traffic plus people down stairs in pub , noise of snoring next room try to find place sat nav cannot take you their
Great location and friendly staff. Breakfast was great!
The bed was awful. Like sleepy on a bouncy castle! Hardly got any sleep
All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent value!!
David and all the other staff were lovely. There was plenty of room. The shower had good pressure, there were plenty of things to do at the venue, darts, pool and a nice relaxed bar. The menu was varied. Car parking was adequate.
The room was a little tired, the toilet seat broken, the burger meat was poor. The portion size was good however.
Good bed. Shower is good. Two toilet roll holders - luxury!
Main problem is getting in. Nobody at Reception so you ring the bell provided...about fifteen-twenty times, for about ten minutes. No response. Had to go and look for someone, who was one of the over-worked bar staff. Think I had the same problem on a previous visit. Corner House...could you consider the possibility that your bell is broken? Bit of traffic noise at front. I don't much like breakfast here because it is close to the bar area and stale alcohol smell is not what I want at breakfast. Light above basin did not work. Had to wait to get a space in the car park (I arrived about 7pm). Would have considered staying another day but their online price went up and was then higher than the much superior Premier Inn a few miles down the road.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and arrived quickly.
Having to wait well over an hour for food in the restaurant in the evening. By the time the food arrived it was too late at night to even want to eat it.
The friendliness of the staff. The food.
Proximity to city centre was ok
Requested a quiet bedroom but did not get one!Massive problem with excessive road traffic noise and congestion all day and throughout the night .This led to an appalling nights sleep and made worse by old soft, bendy double mattress that should not be on the bed anymore.Windows would not shut out noise and room 4 was tired and not fit for purpose at the price. Will never return!
Good car park, clean, en-suite,WiFi,helpful and happy staff and right outside the door a bus stop in to the city centre!......what's not to like!
Could have been a little cheaper.....but can't expect anything else on a one night stay on a Saturday night!
Always good staff and good food at good value for a evening meal.
Would like to have had breakfast but unfortunately it is only served from 8.00am. Could you not do a continental buffet for the early starters? Say from, 7.00am onwards.
the staff were friendly and we ate in the pub and the food was really nice
I had booked two nights but booked on separate occasions, which meant our first night I had a twin room but the following night I had a double. When we arrived I explained I had two different rooms and could I pay for both I was asked if I would like the same room for the two nights, I said yes and was given the same room but not told that it would be dearer and it ended up costing me more money, bit disappointed as it was the member of staff that offered it.
Staff were lovely and food was good.
Shower rail was hanging off wall and seemed to only run hot, couldn't cool it for the children to use.
Location ,very good menu and excellent staff
Rooms could do with a program of sound proofing
Loved everything rebooking again
Can't fault nothing
Food was good bed clean and comfy..... facilities good.
The overall price of our stay compared with the City prices. Food was excellent, particularly my husband's rid eye steak!
The above and nice food and drink
Comfortable room with tv,tea & coffee, wifi, etc. Good nights sleep in a large bed.Food was ok as long as you like steaks or burgers, and my evening meal was very well cooked.Breakfast was adequate with the usual continental & English included in price. Overall I felt the stay was very good value.
Lack of staffing on both reception & breakfast meant you were best not to be in a hurry on either.
Comfortable beds, very helpful staff, the food was great and only a bus ride from the town. The bus stop was just outside the hotel so perfect.
The staff are friendly and welcoming. I stopped here last September as it is close to my daughters Uni accommodation. I stopped again on 14/9/14 and when I walked in I was greeted by Andy with a " nice to see you again". The rooms are comfortable, well stocked with tea and coffee, crisp white bed linen and ample towels. There is plenty of free parking (which is charged for in some other Hotels in Newcastle City Centre). This hotel is a short taxis ride to the city without the nightmare of trying to drive around. The food in the restaurant is excellent. I have already recommended this hotel to other parents who have their children studying in Newcastle and will be back to stay again.
Excellent staff Nice and welcoming always on hand to help or advise facilities did not match their standard
Could have done with a real good deep clean on the floors x and carpets
Location was fab! Room was a good size and the place in general was lovely
The staff at the end of my stay were quite rude especially the maid as we has requested later check out with the friendly staff at the start of our stay and they were questioning us and chapping our door
nice place nice room nice food
traffic some staff
Location was great, staff were helpful, food was nice.
They only problem I found was the beds which due to having a reasonably hard bed at home I found far too soft
The staff were excellent very helpful and friendly and nothing to much trouble. The location is very good with plenty of busses into Newcastle central were there are lots to do and nice walks along the river Tyne. It is also a great location for visiting Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Woodhorn for family history and coast such as Sea houses Bamburgh, North and SouthShields. Also good for a meal after a long day out.!
Did not think a great deal of the new menu, to much bias to burgers and grills etc. Sadly the rooms and general décor and fittings (my bed was nearly on the floor) were really dated, it was not possible to open a window over night in the warm weather. Also one very bad point was there was no lift.? don't know how a wheel chair user would manage.? all in all its a shame that the property lets it down against the location and good staff, think they deserve better but I suppose its all a questions of costs today. many thanks.
