I liked the fact that we could self-cater.
I didn't like going downstairs to use the bathroom.
The size of the room and the shower in the en suite
A ok place to stay if you just want a bed.
Friendly staff, seaside view
Absence of shower, wifi did not work, too many stairs
Room is clean & bed is fine.
No kettle or hair dryer inside the room.
Staff was very friendly and the room comfortable and big enough with a TV and sink. There is a pub right next to I which serves great food. It was one of the best hostels we stayed in during our trip.
The shared bathroom had no shower but only a tub.
the view, the room, the kitchen and living area, the pub and food in the basement, great value for money
big room, self service kitchen with honesty box, location, convenient car park, price
the room was too hot!
Staff is bad! They dont care about anything... Not clean..
Hostel, but very clean and good rooms. Clean bath rooms on the floor! Pub right under the building! City centre just outside the building
The kitchen and dining area was a great way to cater for all requirements. Situated ideally for touring that part of Scotland.
Nothing all very good
Corran House Hostel has a perfect location right on Oban's esplanade and less than 10 minutes walk from the centre and the harbour. Our room was clean and well furnished. The hostel has a nice atmosphere and facilitates socializing with fellow travellers. In the morning you can make your own breakfast table with what they offer in the fridge, for a reasonable price. This is not a four star hotel, but it's good value for money.
The personnel at Corran House Hostel is efficient but not overly friendly. They make you feel like you're just another bunch of tourists passing through.
had everything I needed
Location and price were good. Room was small but had a great sea view. Very comfortable bed.
Being woken by the cleaner in the morning! A 'do not disturb' sign would have been handy! Also the shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold.
The hostel is in face with the waterfront. Location-wise, it's conveient.
no lift, it's a bit difficult in loading heavy luggage.
Location by harbour. They did move my parents room from the top floor to a lower one as mum uses a stick which we did appreciate.
Absolutely everything else. The beds are narrow and uncomfortable. We had to decide if we wanted to put the quilts on our front or backs but they would not cover us all. The towels were tiny and crusty. The water was freezing or 3rd degree burns hot. After 15 minutes of trying we gave up and had a wash via the hand basin. Every floorboard was uneven and creaked. There was a lift but it was ancient and did not work. The payment was taken so quickly there was no chance to cancel the booking free of charge. There are so many accommodation choices in this area choose anywhere else.
Fine spacious & clean twin room, decent bathroom. Great location.
Perhaps slightly impersonal, we didn't meet the manager at all (somebody from the bar downstairs checked us in).
Budget friendly, central location, fun-bar in basement
TV aerial broken (got fixed later), no tea/coffee facilities in room (but it is a Hostel)
We liked everything
clean comfortable room; cosy lounge area; opportunity to make your own breakfast with a wide range of food and drinks provided for a small fee (honesty jar)
The view of the harbour & the walk along the promenade. The kitchen is set up for breakfast and guests pay small fee for food items. Never stayed in hostel but my husband and I enjoyed it!
Location was fantastic. The self catering aspect was very good for us.The kitchen was very well organised. Our room was very spacious and clean. No complaints at all.
First time I have tried this type of accomodation as was pleasantly surprised
Friendly stuff Clean Nice bar close to the Hotel
WLAN not in all rooms
