This was a great place to stay but it was only hostel style ,beds comfy but lots of stairs to climb with luggage.staff great and very helpful
Too many stairs
Decent value and location. Kitchen is well stocked.
We were "greeted" by a bartender that we had to locate downstairs to check us in. He couldn't find our keys and, when clearly wanting to buy time, told us we should re-park the car in public lot about a 10 minute walk away (it was pouring rain). We later learned we were parked in a legal spot outside. The staff would generally be sitting in the kitchen at the best tables whenever we wanted to sit down to eat with no regard for the paying guests. The bathrooms need a serious update. I would not recommend this place.
Location was good, you could use the kitchen and lounge. Also there was breakfast available using the honest bowl.
The tv in the lounge didnt work, wifi didnt work, everything seems a bit tired and old. Stuff were average, not very friendly.
It's a good accomodation for vercation trip. Resonable price and close to city center.
Location, price and building were all lovely.
Nothing really, it was perfect for our purposes. If we were staying for any length the car parking may have been a minor irritation.
clean beds and ensuite.
the daughter or grand daughter at the reception was exceptionally rude. will not go again
Convenient location. Family room had ensuite bathroom. Towels and basic toiletries were provided. Thick and good quality toilet paper.
We booked a family room with 4 single beds and 1 of the bed was quite uncomfortable, seems to be the fold out bed? Room was on second floor and had to lug heavy luggage up the stairs. But overall, the place is quite nice.
We loved the location, the spacious room, the well equipped and large kitchen, and the views out the kitchen of Oban Barbour were fantastic.
Nothing. We really liked this property.
security on door
You get what you pay for, but here you got a little bit more, too.
Shared kitchen area- well equipped and clean. Rooms - very clean and comfortable.
No lift. Is difficult to carry heavy luggages up a few flights of stair. We had the back room. No much of ventilation. Is a bit stuffy
Very accessible to the town center.
It can be a bit stuffy.
Wonderful location with views across the water. We stayed in the guest house section in a lovely room that was very tastefully decorated and with an ensuite that was up to date and seemingly very new. Although there is an attached pub next door we heard nothing at night and slept well in most comfortable beds. The staff were extremely helpful. There is a large kitchen available to all guests and apparently dorms as well. Something for everybody at Corran House.
Would have liked to have stayed longer.
Very accommodating host. Only 5 minutes from the airport. Good, clean rooms and the hostess is willing to adjust breakfast times. A perfect fit for anyone connecting through Prestwick.
Right on the Oban Bay. This place exceeded our expectation on cleanliness. No hair dryer, but surprised us with an honor system for food staples in kitchen.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Awesome location. Great price.
I had a room on the top floor and the elevator was out of order. Carrying luggage up all those stairs was not fun. The wifi was very spotty.
Position excellent. Small room with sea views not small at all. Self serve and honesty box payment great value. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Location, bar downstairs and cost
Location, excellent! sea view, close to all the shops and bars. 5 mins walk to ferry. Friendly staff Good kitchen and cheap drinks and food available. We were family of four and quite expensive for 4 of us for room only in August, but in saying that this was one of the more reasonable places to stay in Oban at this time of year. Bar downstairs, we never heard any noise as we were on the top floor in family room. Enjoyable stay, would stay again.
Parking expensive at council car park, however you can park for free at the local swimming baths, 5 min walk away.
Excellent location with decent rooms and friendly staff. We also found the self-serve backpacker style of catering interesting. Parking right next door.
Window did not close, and as we were above the (noisy) pub, this was an issue. Loads of streps to carry our luggage up.
I liked the fact that we could self-cater.
I didn't like going downstairs to use the bathroom.
The size of the room and the shower in the en suite
We had the chance to reserve the biggest room with see view, and what a view !! It was a very big room, with a big bed and a breathtaking view on the see and the Highlands. We also liked the big kitchen and the pub right under the house.
