Far bigger and more luxurious than any of us were expecting. Really enjoyed our stay and the pub a mile or so down the road was great. Would highly recommend.
Very prompt action to resolve a couple of issues
Bed was a bit creaky, although comfortable
Out in the country, near a very nice town.
Facility was old, run down. Owners never showed up until we were walking out the door on last day. Very poor customer service. The grounds around the cottage smelled very bad of Cat urine. Drive way is located on a blind corner, a bit difficult and dangerous to navigate. Sleeper couch old, dirty, worn, and very uncomfortable for sleeping on, had to sleep on floor. I would not recommend this facility until major improvements are made. This is the first negitive review i have made in the many stays throughout Europe. Sorry to say.
close proximity to Stirling and surrounding areas, the piece and quiet. local village close by for anything you should forget.
the sofa bed is only suitable for children as mattress doesn't take an adults weight.
Good kitchen facilities and shower room. Cottage was quaint.
The staircase, there was no heating and the fire didn't work, uncomfortable sofa. Very loud hen party in the house with music thumping til late in the night
Lots of room.
Extremely low loft bedroom ceiling. Bathroom down stairs.
A peaceful and ideally central location between Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Highlands and close to Stirling. We liked the big living/lounge areas and adequate kitchen. It was very comfortable and homely.
Mostly all very good however a couple of things may need updating in the near future like a couple of the beds and some maintenance/updates in the bedroom bathrooms. Being picky now but the towels in our bedroom were a wee bit smelly and scratchy when we arrived from sitting too long.
The location provides many ideas to explore Scotland and has a pleasant green area around. Though, for a perfect holiday in Scotland I would recommend choosing one of the holiday facilities placed nearby.
The feeling that I shared the apartment with all the people that ever stayed there (dirty bedsheets & towels (I washed them during our stay so I can appreciate the difference), many faults to the electrical system, no warm water during our stay (except for one afternoon). Outside are provided leisure facilitates (such as a pavilion&table+chairs) but are unusable due to lack of maintenance (the same applies for the clothes rack places outside).
Peaceful location, well equipped kitchen, good bathroom, very clean. Decent bed upstairs. Ease of booking, owners a pleasure to deal with.
Fridge/ freezer not cold enought to store food safely, sofa bed very poor, radiator near staircase needs repainting( looks tatty in at otherwise perfect room). TV would benefit for being updated.
Proximity to attractions, tea n coffee etc in apartment,
Cobwebs everywhere, closeness to busy road, no shower, size of apartment, no internet, cost, no privacy from other family members, review on booking.com inaccurate and misleading! I'm sure it would ok for a couple travelling but with teenagers it was a no go
Fine location and a very welcoming apartment. Doudle bed upstairs and sofabed downstairs was ideal for our family of 4. The apartment was warm and comfortable.
Access to the apartment via a main road can be a little tricky.
We stayed in The Smiddy. 1. The kitchen was well-stocked. 2. The sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. 3. All of us loved the selection of books. 4. The location is quite nice - if you have a car, you can reach Loch Ard, Katerine, and Lomond easily. You can also drive in to Stirling, for the day.
Internet provision would have been really useful.
The house is massive, warm and beautifully decorated. Very clean. All rooms have ensuite bathroom, and the living rooms (2!) are comfortable and cosy. Log burner in each living room. Kitchen with all commodities. Quiet and private. The owners are not living next to the house which we like as it is a bit more private. The Barn apartment is close but not attached. Very helpful book from the owners with information about the area and the house. No bad points: we were amazed.
Good self contained countryside accommodation with space and full facilities including washing machine and dryer. Great peaceful location convenient to pubs and supermarkets and well placed for attractions
loved it there. Peacefull
