We checked in as a family on sat 21/4 and were greeted by a lovely guy who informed us our room had been upgraded to a larger family room, it was huge!! Really comfortable beds and en suite. Breakfast was served in hotel with a chioce of continental/cooked, huge selection of cereals fruit breads juices teas and coffee. We had cooked breakfast which was made to order and very tasty, girl in dining room very friendly.

Good location for zoo trip and also on main line for buses to get ina and out of the city centre. Due to rather unseasonal weather during our stay we found that the room was very cold. There were 2 radiators in the room but as the room was sacious and the conservatory leant itself to dispersing what heat could be gained from central heating.

Friendly staff, lovely breakfast. A few broken tiles on the footpath may cause a hazard and the parking wasn't fantastic.

We stayed in room 30 and the noise from the heating system kept us awake until 4.00am. My husband had to turn off the complete heating system just so we could get to sleep. On waking, there was no hot water. I think the electrics need to be looked at urgently as they did not look safe and made some chronic clicking noises. The breakfast was a let down, whilst we waited for it to arrive, all we could hear from the kitchen was a big pan of oil bubbling then a few splash noises, presumably that was the budget sausages going in. Everything was deep fried even the bacon. That totally put me off, surely having a nice sausage and grilled bacon can't be that hard? We paid £65.00 for the room and I wished I had staying in a travel lodge. Definately not 3*'S. I would grade it as a 1* and I stay in lots of hotels so I know what I am talking about. I think £40.00 is the maximum I would like to have paid for this hotel.

The family suite we have at the rear on the ground floor was very spacious. Large breakfast and also choice of cereals/teas, etc. Convenient for shops/buses. Soundproofing could have been a bit better.

Pleasant middle-market guest house. Small but comfortable room with bathroom; good cooked breakfast; off-street parking; ground floor room could access free public area wi-fi. On the main road from the airport to Edinburgh, with a bus stop close to the hotel for a direct bus route to the city centre. Friendly helpful staff. The hotel does not have a restaurant (apart from breakfast) or a bar but almost opposite are a pub, an Italian restaurant and a fish and chip shop. Altogether excellent value for the price we paid via Booking.com. A little hard to spot at night in heavy rain, The sign is quite small and says "Corstorphine Guest House". Google maps shows the hotel as being closer to the city centre and on the other side of the road (but that's not the hotel's fault).

Good `middle of the road` establishment ideal for our purpose as we were out all day. Very pleasant staff, dated building and room but clean and comfortable. Heating in room needs attended to (staff member informed. Had no problem parking but car park would not cope with full rooms. No bar facilities.

The second room was spacious with a good size television. I had to ask to change rooms as the first one that we had {for about 20 minutes } was very poor quality. It had been created into a bedroom and was dark, cramped, dirty, old fashioned and not at all inviting. The only reason that you could call it a double room was because they had somehow sqeezed a double bed in there!! The bathroom did not have a solid door but a frosted glass one with only a curtain attached to it. Connected to the room was a conservatory and that was the view from our ground floor window and it was cluttered with all sorts of stuff. There were two doors other than the entrance door that were locked to help create the enclosed room space. This room was a disgrace. I asked for another room and we moved into a more spacious suite which we were most grateful for. But even this was old fashioned. I would never stay in this hotel again.
