Value for money
Hotel wasn't too close to city centre. Not a huge distance to travel but a 10/15 minute drive.
Location, size of room, breakfast, lounge and bar facilities, cost.
Bit far out from city centre - but well connected
Staff always courteous, good breakfast, location
Stairs, bed badly position making it difficult getting in/out.
Very welcoming, looked good on the outside
room & bathroom poor, unable to open windows due to broken sash cords. Kettle had to be used on floor (health & safety issue) due to arrangement of furniture. Breakfast on second morning was a fiasco, not enough staff & even one of the guests showing staff how to operate equipment
Liked the value for money
I didn't like the fact there was no curtains/ black out blind on the window/skylight. Didn't like the fact there was not plugs for you to charge your phone. Didn't like the lay out of the breakfast area abit confusing.
The hotel was well placed for local transport and amenities. Would I stop again? Yes I would.
The room was clean, except under the sofa where there was some used hankies an cotton buds and behind the bedside cupboard. The water in the kettle was brown from the rust.
Bed was very uncomfortable, shower very small
Clean & well presented on the whole. Pleasant staff.
Poor lounge. Small single room & narrow bed. Very narrow passages & steps.
Staff and breakfast
Quite a complex building
Position, value for money friendly and helpful staff.
The bedroom had too many beds and were uncomfortable. The shower in my opinion was very poor fluctuating temperature.
We were moved to Cumberland. It was dirty, dated and very shabby. Folk hanging about in corridors and outside the room making a racket till all hours. We had an early check in and we're told there was no breakfast till 7.30. We paid for b&b but we're advised no refund possible. Very disappointing
Very attractive facility, well maintained. Staff very helpful and courteous. Great base for travel in the Edinburgh area.
Location on bus line and near the airport. Spacious room with clean facilities. Accommodating staff.
I cannot think of anything.
All of it
The family room was excellent..large warm and cosy..
The breakfast buffet finishing by 9 !! not our idea of a leisurely holiday breakfast, especially with having three little ones to deal with. I was charged for getting a bit late to vacate !! not the best way to say goodbye! so can improve on being more hospitable- especially after spending 640 quid on the booking-- not good.
Beautiful old house .Lovely friendly staff .Clean and comfortable .Good breakfast .
Didn't sleep well through no fault of the hotel but due to all night traffic.
Closeness to city and airport Able to check in early.
Good friendly staff.
Poor disabled facilites, although we had a ground floor room for my disabled mother who had to use the Fire exit to exit the building as she could not manage the front door steps.
Room was generally nice and tidy, close to the zoo and not a long bus ride into the city centre either.
Shower didn't work properly, when we arrived for breakfast it was very disorganised and it took some time before we could eat, door into the bathroom didn't close properly and lock at all.
Good breakfast. Courteous staff. Convenient location
No elevator to reach our assigned rooms in higher floors No support to carry luggage to rooms.
Breakfast spread was nice.
A little too far from city centre
When I booked was told there was car park when we arrived we were told there was not one and that we had to park in a side street at £154.00 per night B & B the place was dirty blinds didn't fit windows. Windows were sealed so no ventilation. breakfast was rushed. wardrobe door wouldn't close, mattress had springs poking out of it sheets didn't fit beds, beds not made properly, faeces on door frame, rubbish on door entry. I would NEVER recommend this hotel. Not safe if there was a fire you would not get out alive. My daughter and I both came home with chest infections. Beds must have been crawling with mites.
Location ok, on a busy bus route, staff friendly.
Comedy bed - steel frame bed with loose bolts & squeaky springs. Just as well we weren't planning an amorous weekend. Hot water came out of the cold tap and vice-versa. Room was at the top of the hotel on 2nd floor with a sky light and no opening windows. @ £135.00/night they have to be kidding - even if it was during festival week. We won't be back!
