location Found the hotel reception and lounge areas extremely depressing and gloomy - please get rid of the heavy curtains and give the poor receptionist more light! |

A delightful, historic building in a good central location The service in the restaurant was appalling - one hour for our food to arrive, when only one other person in the restaurant! |

All was great, really friendly and helpful staff. The shower could at best have been described as a hot dribble. |

I thought the building charming, and my room, (No.6) spacious and very comfortable, to the extent if I visit again, would request same room. |

I thought the prices at the bar were particularly expenses. Also I felt that when I asked for Mushrooms for breakfast 1 small mushroom was a little bit sparse. |

I stayed in this hotel for business purposes, the rate was excellent but and I had a very good nights sleep. The prices in the reastaurant and bar were extremly expensive, £7 for a glass of wine, and I had to send my meal back to the kitchen because it was cold. Lovely hotel but a rip off. |

Location in countryside is lovely and the grounds are well kept. The building itself is wonderful. The staff were very pleasant and the dinner was excellent. Just wish we had more time to stay longer. |

The overall ambience, gardens and location was excellent. Four spiders lurking in the bedroom were swiftly despatched! The water pressure in the shower was pretty useless, and the lack of safety rail and shower mat made morning ablutions quite dangerous. Once these oversights have been rectified the hotel is excellent! |

I liked the location - just outside Rugby and the standard of service. The dining room was very impressive as was the breakfast. |

the staff were very helpful. Room service was good, pretty building and lovely gardens. The room was dark and nothing like the pictures on the internet, so beware. We were stuck on a very narrow corridor between two stair cases which was very noisy with other guests coming and going. |

The building and setting are fabulous - it is such a pity they don't make the most of it The staff were hopeless, the grounds barely kept up, there is a refrigeration/airconditioning machine the noise from which makes it impossible to sit on the terrace and the food is mediocre if not worse. |

We had a quiet first night. There was a wedding party on our second night and our room was directly over the function. When we complained the only alternative available to us was a single room with a double bed. Not the relaxing weekend we'd envisaged. |

Had a great stay I was allocated a lovely refurbished bedroom looking out on the beautiful grounds of the hotel. Staff were very helpful and even carried my suitcase to my room for me. Food was good there was a good food & wine selection. Will definatly stay here next time I am in the area. |
