Very good staff, well organised, only stayed briefly but trouble free and would recommend. Good breakfast & efficient service

The location was ideal and the grounds and the hotel were superb.

Great place with impressive architecture

Room was quite cold as I was getting in. Would have been good attention to warm before I arrive Vs enquiring by phone 1 hour after I arrived to ask if everything was ok

The hotel is in a lovely setting in a quiet location which is great for getting away from it all without being too far away from everything at the same time as the town is only a short drive. The staff that we encountered were lovely and the rooms were spacious and welcoming.

Unfortunately when we arrived they had no record of our booking however, the receptionist could not have been more obliging and could not have dealt with the situation any better. Due to the booking not being on the system there were unable to supply the chocolates that were included in the package but they did provide a fruit bowl instead which was nice. There was some confussion upon check out with our bill as we had booked on a Dinner Bed and Breakfast Rate but were not informed at any point that we only had an allowance per person. This did not attract from the stay at all but would have been informed of this before check out. All in all it was a great stay and I would return

We stayed there to attend a wedding held at the location. Found the venue to be perfect for a wedding for both the amenities at he venue and for being so close to the motorway network.

This is not a complaint but more of an observation on customer service. On our arrival at around 6.30pm, the room was cold. The heating in the room was such that all was okay within half an hour. I accept this situation could have been avoided if we had let the hotel know our estimated time of arrival. That said, the heating in the bathroom (electric radiator) was not working at all. We organised a portable heater with an extention cable through reception. This was delivered to the room without delay but I feel reception should have been aware of this fault with the radiator.

The Toilets in the courtyard rooms were tired and as they had no windows mould was evident on the ceiling (not enough ventalation). Toilet seat would not stay up (little things make a difference). Lighting levels were extremely low which made reading in the room difficult unless directly under a light or the bathroom.

Although a beauiful location for a wedding reception - If you're not part of the party, the hotel facilities (like the bar) seem a closed off. I'm sure I could have popped in for a drink but it would have felt like gatecrashing. Would have been nice to have an area for other guests to sit down and relax. Would think twice about staying here again on that basis.

we came from gateshead for a wedding,and decided to stay for the night.had a very good nights sleep and lovely breakfast in the morning.actual wedding was very good wih very good food and very attentive staff.the person in charge on the day was excellent nothing was to much trouble.would recomend highly as a wedding venue.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and will be visiting again on business. I have spoken to manager about corporate rates as many of my colleagues would use this hotel. I am waiting to hear from the manager,

The room was quite small and very warmas windows did not fully open.

I attended the wedding of my nephew. The whole event was very relaxed and ran smoothly. Everyone enjoyed the food and had a wonderful time.

The peace and quietness of the rural surroundings yet close to motorway links.
