Just 5 minutes' drive from junction 1 of the M6, Brownsover Hall Hotel is a fabulous Grade II listed Victorian Gothic mansion nestling in 7 acres of woodland and gardens. The magnificent building has a dramatic interior with a sweeping staircase and crackling log fires in the winter. Together with the stunning Gilbert Scott restaurant and atmospheric Sir Frank Whittle bar this gives the Brownsover Hall distinct charm. The hotel hosts many weddings and functions throughout the year, so dinner may be served in one of the hotel's beautiful private dining suites. Please check with the hotel at time of booking regarding restaurant services. Country house: 47 rooms , Hotel Chain: Recommended Hotels, Classic British Hotels. Brownsover Hall is in a lovely location and the accommodation away from the main building is a great place to stay, where we had a lovely room in the Coach House. The gardens and grounds were in a really nice condition and were a pleasure to walk through on a lovely sunny morning. Very disappointed that the room rates were not a little better due to being part of a large group at that time. Also the bar drinks appeared to increase in price after 6pm?? This is Not a very "budget-friendly" thing to do. The breakfast range was very good but the hot buffet was far from hot. Very disappointing as we were looking forward to this. Apologies for not answering questions 3 and the second number 6. Unable to find an option suitable.

The hotel and the out buildings looked stunning. The surroundings were breath taking. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really delicious and great value for money. The history is so fascinating. The whole experience was amazing and would go again. The price of the evening meals were a little steep, but saying that the food did taste gorgeous!

The distinctive gothic character of the historical building design with its ornate turrets and patterned brickwork on the outside, the lush decoration and wooden beams in the public areas on the inside, the large bedroom with a bay window overlooking the grounds, the friendly and attentive staff on reception and in the dining room. We felt the evening meal was good, but overpriced for what it was, with the wine and coffee being particularly overpriced for the quality.

Hotel had heaps of character. Were allocated a large room in the stable block which was very comfortable and quiet. Stayed on half board and the food was excellent.

The setting of the hotel, the building was refurbished to a high standard, our room overlooked the front gardens, seeing the squirrels and the rabbits in the morning and late evening was great, the staff were more than friendly, made you feel right at home. Breakfast was fantastic, heaps to choose from. Left my coat behind and the reception staff forwarded it on to my next address in London. The only thing I can think of was the poor water pressure from the shower.

Staff are extremely helpful & service is good. I stay in hotels for more than 60 nights per year and would most definitely stay here again - although perhaps not when the weather is cold! Probably not the warmest bedrooms! Very draughty!

Staff were great. Hotel is very nice. Night porter served us til very late. Good location. Right in the centre of the country. It means that I'll use it again for meetings. Didn't like the fact that breakfast finishes at 9. That's just too early if you've been sat in the lounge drinking til 4. However the staff still cooked us some breakfast. Brilliant.

Beautiful grounds and gothic buildings. Very romantic place to stay. Had some mony disappear from bag. Made the mistake of leaving it in my room and once forgot to lock our door. (Doors don't lock automatically) they were very clever and only took two £20 and left other 10 and 5'S. It was my half of hotel payment. It's taught me an expensive lesson. Don,t remember seeing a safe but may of been one. There we're lots of people around and cleaners.

We stayed at the hotel for my husbands 50th birthday. It was most enjoyable. Lovely welcome by hotel staff, surroundings, atmosphere & gorgeous food. We have eaten at the hotel a couple of times now & will definately be back again! My husband felt the mattress was a little too firm & woke with a bad back.

My Daughter got married at Brownsover Hall. Every last detail was perfect, well done to all the staff especially Chris and Lesley who organised it all. Its been a long time since I experienced this level of service. If only we all did business this way. No issues at all.

Every time I stay there I seem to get a better room, for the same price as holiday inn you can get a unique experience. Breakfast included, wine and chocolates in the room for less than €100 per night.

The staff were very welcoming and the rooms clean. We only had a brief visit, arriving at 8.30pm one evening and leaving by 11am the next day, so difficult to comment. All was fine during our stay.

Good quality food, excellent accommadation, very attentive staff all set in an attractive historical building. Car park a little tight for a large van but extra parking is availible in the second car park, just further to walk.
