Score from 765 reviews Excellent
Location. beautiful building and grounds. Friendly staff.
Lack of air conditioning so room was v hot day and night. The bathroom smelt of damp. The jacuzzi didnt work.
Size of room, view, swimming pool, setting and dining area. Staff helpful.
Breakfast service a shables due to slow service and buffet not refilled. Showers in superior rooms too low, poor fitting/quality toilet seats and general decor needs seeing to.
Scenery Service in the bar and restaurant
No fridge in room Small tv
Quiet location and yet close to Slough and Heathrow. Excellent restaurant.
Great location - beautiful Burnham Beeches woods nearby but close to railway too, classy building, bed comfy, staff efficient but not pushy, swimming pool
Air con unit outside window was a little noisy
Food staff service hospitality menu surrounding area
pealing wallpaper very hot small spa new reception area needed! not very clean bathroom
Spa area not very big
The staff were excellent.
No Air Conditioning in the main part of the hotel. Very small room initially.
After a very uncomfortable first night we were upgraded at no extra to an executive room with queen size bed, safe, and air conditioning. These are the only rooms that could be considered 4 star. All the staff were friendly and helpful and efficient. The building is impressive from the outside and set in pleasant parkland gardens.
Our first room was described as an ensuite double room and the photo looks like a wide queen or king bed. It is in fact only 4ft 6in, and in my opinion not 4 star. The room was unbearably hot with no aircon, although a noisy evaporative cooler was provided on request. This hotel caters well for weddings, hence can be quite noisy for other guests. Drinks and foodtend to be a bit expensive. The chef has no idea about the necessary ingredients for a Caesar Salad, the lettuce, dressing and cheese topping we got for £10 was ridiculous.
Pool & lift out of action
Polite and efficient bar staff
Poor Restaurant staff and very limited choice on the Dinner menu. Prices quoted could be for a 6 star hotel. No dress standard required
Staff were great and very polite. loved the bedrobes and slippers
Wi-Fi didn't work in the room, no flannels
Nice quiet location
Night we stayed there was a wedding party making noise and watching the football, we asked to be moved and were upgraded to another room at the front which was very nice. We had asked for a quiet room when booking.
Service and menu in restuarant was excellent.
The leisure facilities could do with upgrading, also pool was at baltic temperature on the first day of our stay.
Spa facilities Friendly staff Comfortable bed
Large wedding venue meant it was slightly noisy when the room overlooks the courtyard.
Friendly helpful staff
Shower in room 107 was borderline dangerous with extremely hot water and no way of regulating flow
The location and the staff are great. The internals of the old wing (as far as I could tell) seem well maintained.
When I booked the description was: 4 star "lovely Georgian hotel", " luxurious Studio Suite was designed and furnished by Laura Ashley". So my expectation was a lovely period room; seemed about right for £468. Instead I was in the rather late 20th century wing, which doesn't appear to have had much spent on it in some time. Badly in need of a refurbishment - the exterior paintwork on the old wing is very tired; the lift in ours was broken (my partner has a torn knee ligament awaiting surgery, so this was not ideal); the blinds on our room were tatty; gym equipment old and badly maintained. There was no hot water on our first morning, and all we got was a "sorry and engineer has been called". All in I felt it wasn't great value for money. Which is a pity as it really could be amazing.
The whole experience was fantastic. Mary (one of the waiting Staff) was the most attentive and professional member of staff I have ever experienced. She was a credit to the training and staffing at the hotel. I would definatly stay at the Burnham Beeches again
Nothing to dislike
The hotel was set in beautiful grounds, staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and from walking into the reception you can tell it has high standards of quality.
The food was very over priced, we ordered chips as a snack to share however when this came out there were NINE chips costing FOUR pounds! When mentioning this to the staff I was told I pay for the excellent quality however unfortunately they were all hard in the middle and of a very poor quality! The breakfast was £10 per person however after not being satisfied by a bowl of chips I was not prepared to waste money on a 'standard' breakfast!
No wifi Small roof room
The good was nice
The bed was tiny and the room was BOILING
Excellent gym and spar, food good standard. Room very comfortable. Lovely location.
Lack of room in bar area, gets busy quickly and have to eat in reception area. Although staff very good in both.
Spa - is just a very small pool with jacuzzi at one end. Changing rooms felt rather grimey. The restaurant wasn't open for either lunch or dinner - not much good when the hotel is in the middle of no where. Classic rooms are tiny, at the back of the hotel with views of generators! Rooms are very dated with wallpaper peeling off the walls. The more deluxe rooms at the front of the house have nice views, but the beds are uncomfortable and the pillows were foam - yeuk! Management didn't really try very hard to resolve problems.
The bar staff are A++ extremely well-mannered and attentive
Gym is small and very hot
good cooked breakfast
temperature control in room
