Staff were well mannered, Building and surrounding areas
Could hear every thing that next door was doing as soon as we entered the room, got woke up at 07:00 from them talking, taking shower, tv and then hairdryer going off not at all happy.
We stated in an executive room which was great. The spa was great could do with a little more seating around pool.
We booked executive room, was spacious, comfortable and had robes, slippers and complimentary drinks and snacks which was lovely , very peaceful, and the spa is very good for a hotel well worth going just to it. Staff very friendly.
Food quality not up to the rest of hotel, and breakfast felt abit rushed as our cooked items arrived well before we had time to eat much of our cereal etc meaning we had to leave them, prob due to bad timing of waiting staff. Was not terrible it's just the rest of hotel is so good.
The noise was un bearable unable to get to sleep until 0230 and when again at 0430 not good at all. Informed the reception in the morning and informed that she would get maintenance to look at the window. How does that help me?
Leisure facilities were very good ,and it was very quiet at night
Spa facilities on site Nice quality of food on offer Pleasant and helpful staff Although hotel seemed busy there was still a relaxed atmosphere
For price paid mini bar and toiletries were not re stocked on each day of stay Drinks a little pricey
The hotel itself was lovely, and the pool area also was a delight! I treat my husband to a weekend away, I was a bit worried on the location, but I needn't of worried. We brought our bikes. We walked a couple of the evening to the social club pub in Harwick village, so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be staying again, we chose a deluxe room. Car park a lovely size, they have a shed to lock up your bikes should you need it.
If I had to say something negative, then it would be that we felt the outside seating area wasn't that brilliant. There was a wedding on so maybe the other area is normally free.
Location and facilities
The food was good at the wedding I attended
The road noise in our room was very bad,the bar ran out of mixers and decent glasses.
Location, good food, and good service
Not having aircon
Staff and facilities excellent
Room very hot no air con, prefered breakfast when it was buffet style
A very good and friendly staff team. The breakfast has improved since our last stay in 2012. The Normanton inn food was fantastic. The spa is good but the steam room was broken :( We didn't know you could hire bikes which is something we'll do next time.
The rooms needed re-decorating -bathroom shabby - vinyl floor tiles-really? and they needed cleaning a bit more thoroughly e.g dust on the bed head. The front rooms are very noisy from the traffic.
Serving the same menu in both restaurants. Annoying! . Temperature of indoor pool too hot.
The food was excellent and the staff friendly, helpful and courteous. Beds quite comfortable but not as good as Premier Inns.
Paying for drinking water! Decor throughout the hotel looking shabby, sad and dated. Smoking area too close to outside dining area Normanton Inn very dark, dingy and stuffy - needs total refurb plus air con.
Thought it was excellent value for money that the use of the spa was in with the price of the room. Staff could not have been more helpful and when i had problem they were quick enough to rectify it.
I would have to say for the price of the food i was extremely disappointed. I had the king prawn and scallop pasta, however i think the word king prawns was over exaggerated as they were tiny, as were the scallops. I was still hungry after eating the meal and at £15 for the meal. I do not think it was worth it for three mouth fulls of food. The only other downfall for my partner was that there was only Becks and Perroni on the pump, other than that it was all spirits. More variety needs to be included.
Staff were very helpful, nothing a problem.
The room in particular the bathroom could have been cleaner and needs updating.
Helpfullness, Nice room, Hospitality tray etc,Disabled parking by main door,Friendly staff, Easy access,Comfortable bed, Lovely situation,
No toilet brush,Road noise,Curtains to keep more light out, Sunday evening dinner room a let down,No where to turn car at far end of hotel from disabled park.
Location, outside areas, the spa, value bike hire, excellent food, the executive room and the extras included
Some areas a little shabby, terrible carpets in communal hallways, bathrooms need a bit of tlc, waitressing started off ok in restaurant but then had to wait 35 minutes for them to clear our table, one young blonde waitress was particularly cocky and made us feel slightly uneasy but the others were very friendly
the staff were very helpful and polite - the spa was really lovely- the diner menu was OK. the room was lovely - the location was perfect as my son was having a job interview at Clumber Park the next day with the National Trust.
The relaxation room in the spa needs more thought - have you seen the warmed stone loungers? they are really great! Also music in the relaxation room would have been good. I thought the breakfast was very expensive! and the menu was OK but a bit fussy - why not try a set menu with a few choices including the chef special and a deal like two courses for £15 or less also the side dish portion size were too generous. Why couldn' t the spa access last all day? I would have stayed there and waited for my son and probably spent more money on another treatment and lunch!
Great Spa and Spa Staff. Court Yard (Conservatory) restaurant nice and light and airy but the Normington Inn restaurant dark and basic.
Food overpriced. Reported issues with lock on bathroom door was never fixed the two days we stayed with them given option of another room but declined. Had wedding reception going on in the Hotel on both Saturday and Sunday evenings we stayed.
We had a lovely stay. The staff were really helpful and courteous. The spa/ pool/ gym was clean and well maintained. We felt very relaxed. The only thing I would change is maybe have a different menu in the bar area so there was more choice but the food was very nice in the restaurant.
If i had one critism it would be the shortage of outside furniture. It was lovely weather and we had to sit inside because all the garden furniture was occupied. But it didnt spoil our stay.
Booked 8 months in advance requesting a quiet room. Given a room on the front right on the main road. Told no other rooms available.
The pleasant and caring staff. Julie is one of the main reasons we return. She is an absolute delight and always goes out of her way to make our visits special.Jane at reception is another more recent gem and we appreciated her cheerful disposition and friendly help.
We only have positive feedback to report.
