staff were friendly. room was clean and comfortable, food was good, .handy location for train station

noisy during the night, on Friday 14th june people knocking on doors and banging doorsclose bye, kept me awake from 2.30am till 4.30am. better Saturday night no banging doors

the music in the public areas,s was boring at best depressing at worst,the singing sounded dirge like in the evening and was beyond belief at breakfast,the staff get it all day poor things

The hotel was excellent value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful; the hotel was comfortable and the position was central to the attractions. The food, especially the breakfast, had a good choice that was suitable for all tastes. Great for a short stay.

For this price you would need to be particularly picky to find fault.

the noise early hours of the morning i was in room 420 0n the 18/5/13// someone was banging very loudly on a door trying to get in. this went on for more than one hour each time starteling me and my grandaughterwe had a very disturbed night i telephoned the reception by dialing zero to complain about the noise .i did not get an answer to the call i did complain on sunday morning to the girl on checking out i will be very suprised if i am the only complaint espically as no one was about to assist. as i though if that person finally gets into the room it would erupt i would not trust that i could get assistance overnight if i need it

Good breakfast choice and breakfast dining hours were suitable. Close proximity to buses / trains. Avail. for booking at short notice (however, the room we expected was sold out - see "cons" comments) Luggage storage.

£90 for a very basic room (quite expensive considering that we stayed in Scottish B&Bs, at a lower rate, which were more impressive overall) Only 1 lift working & it was very slow and small. Bookings.com permitted me to book a double room, but upon arrival only twin was avail. This should not happen.

The staff were brilliant, especially the desk staff, really helpful and very friendly, comfortable and clean rooms excellent breakfast.

I didn't enjoy someone coming into my room at 1am in the morning because my room had been let out as apparently it was empty. I didn't appreciate the call 40 minutes later to apologize for the disruption AND to quiz me about whether i had changed rooms.

Room was quiet, hard to believe it is in the city centre. Great selection of food at breakfast

As soon as you step through the door the staff welcome you with open arms. The food is amazing and costa coffee is right next door!

Friendly staff. Walking distance from city centre and central station (so easy to go to Edinburgh). Costa Coffee adjacent to hotel.

Street in parts a bit run-down. Had room with small window facing some non-descript office block, piping and ventilation units.

Staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival. I arrived early but they looked for and found a room available and let me check in early which was great. I was made very welcome.
