The free shuttle service worked a treat. For arrival after 10 pm they advised to take a taxi from the airport, keep the receipt and they would repay the money in cash. Nice old style of furnishings and clean air unlike most airport hotels. Park and lake nearby for a stroll.

The fire alarm went off early morning, but nobody seemed to take action.

There was nothing about this hotel that I would recommend

The Cleanliness of the room (14) was well below an acceptable standard. The service in the restaurant and the quality of the food (I had a 28 day old steak) was totally unacceptable. It was more akin to a hostal than a hotel and the noise throughout the night meant that I did not get any sleep. The receptionist was not interested in any comments in the morning when checking out.

It was a short taxi ride from the airport, and the fare was reimbursed by the hotel. The room was comfortable, once I'd discovered there was a remote control for the air conditioning unit. In the morning the hotels shuttle bus took us to the car hire village to collect our hire car. All the staff we met were very helpful and friendly.

I have a problem with coat hangers, there's never enough! The kettle was in a cupboard, and when I peered in I banged my head, ok I wasn't wearing my hard hat, so probably my own fault!

The staff were superb. Noting was too much trouble and all were extremely friendly and courteous.

All the staff were extremely friendly. The best airport hotel we have ever stayed at. The transfer to the airport was the quickest we have ever experienced.

Nothing really apart from one slight issue was that the bed was extremely high.

We only stayed for 1 night before a flight from Manchester but we particularly liked the comfortable homely feel to the place and really appreciated breakfast before we left. It added an extra day to our holidays. The airport transfer was really efficient too.

Whats not to like?

Even though this Hotel was not in the countryside, it felt like it. I wanted to stay in an old English hotel with charm and character and this is exactly what we got. George who picked us up at the airport was delightful, he was the chauffeur, door man, greeter, hotel tour guide and concierge all rolled into one. The room was huge and one of the original rooms of the Hotel and it looked exactly like the picture, complete with the 4 poster canopy bed. There was actually a garden to sit in, which is unusual for Hotels near the airport. It was very peaceful, no sounds of planes even though we were 5 minutes away from the airport. Peter took us to the airport the next morning and he was equally charming.

The proximity to the airport and the shuttle service were great - and I didn't hear noise from the airport at all.

Some of the equipment in the bathroom looked like it was pretty close to the end of its life...

noise - its not double glazed and its on a busy road, plus the aircraft noise air conditioning - you need a physics degree to work it

A really lovely Georgian building turned into a hotel in a sympathetic way.

There was no menu for Celiac which I had asked for glutinous free bread before the stay.

The location next to the airport was perfect for us to catch our morning flight.

We were suppose to receive a bottle of wine on check out, but couldn't take it because we were flying home. It would have been nice if we could have exchanged it towards breakfast.
