Myself and my husband stayed here on 28th December 2014 to celebrate by husbands 29th birthday, we had a lovely time. Unfortunately the main restaurant wasn't open for evening meal so we had a meal at the stables which was still lovely
Upgraded to a suite. Wi-fi is good and the stables bar area is nice with good draught beer, staff are also very helpful.
Food in stables still leaves lots to be desired. The menu never changes and the quality isn't great. I had a crispy chicken sandwich that went back as it wasn't cooked properly.
A very pleasant country break while visiting relatives in the area. Recent upgrades have improved the buildings. Enjoyed the swimming pool.
Short of staff in the dining area - but there was a big wedding reception elsewhere to look after.
Nice rooms in 'the stables' above the bar.
Stables bar was great, old Hotel was nice and the breakfast was lovely
Originally put in new rooms that felt like a holiday inn and not what the pics on line had shown.
Leisure facilities Relaxed atmosphere Welcoming friendly staff
Long walk to your room Executive rooms are a fair walk from reception- No complaints excellent rooms
facilities location setting The quirky rooms 10 or 8 up at the top of the old building
Last time I had a room on the other side at the very top Room 10 or 8?? with a view of golf course. Really quirky. excellent. This time i didn't like the room as much and there were alot of rooms close together
Our second visit - very comfortable and pleasant hotel - and staff polite and cheerful. Has a very nice ambience about it .
Nothing at all. It really is that good.
Location was near where we wanted to be.
Pubic hairs in bed and hairs on bed noted as we entered the room. Had to request for clean sheets. Carpet not too clean. Ran bath and water brown, was informed due to repair in another room.
Wonderful suite for Disabled and not far to walk once we had sorted the car!
Nothing - all fantastic .
The staff were very friendly
the very helpful staff,we requested a bed for our little boy when we got there there was not one in the room, when we asked at reception they were more than helpful and a bed was in the room while we had a cup of coffee.WELL DONE
breakfast was good, would prefer buffet type rather than plated waiter service as service was a little rushed
was allocated an "attic" small room with uneven floors, bed was a little hard and uncomfortable and small double. receptionist had a cold/flu, and should not have been at work, passing it on to all the guests.
Being placed in a room with two single beds pushed together with a double quilt over the top to make it look like a double bed only to fall down the middle during the night also this room was above the bar where the ball and darts were situated very noisy right up to closing time half eleven ish . Breakfast was over rated and over expensive just go down the road to the local supermaket cafe 3 miles away for your cheap petrol to get yourselfs home
Ideal for our brief stay
Many functions are held here, so ask to be located away from these if you want peace. We did - and were put above 'the pub' - and it was ideal. A very nice room.
Exceptional staff, couldn't be more friendly, polite or helpful.
Very noisy, parties finished at 12 which was fine but other guests close by were very noisy. Paid extra for a feature room but tv in the bathroom didn't work and battery kept falling out of the remote control. If we had been staying for the first time, we probably would not go back, however had stayed before without these problems and the staff saved the day.
Food. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice setting.
Room was very small & located above pub so was noisy. Would have upgraded to better room in main building if we had known.
Location perfect for our trip
Thin walls so noisy fire door in corridor behind bed
the room the bed the food
friendliness of staff, very clean hotel, good breakfast excellent value for money would definitely recommend and will use again.
low water pressure in shower,
We had a charming room (no2) with a four poster bed and great views across the golf course. The staff were absolutely lovely and I can't fault this little country hotel. Great food as well. We were on a schedule or we would have booked an extra night.
We were made very welcome and our room with a four poster bed was lovely. We ate at the bar which had a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the food was nice. We have stayed here before and will certainly do so again.
Location and staff awareness
Nothing at all
noisy party at 1.20am on a Tues night/Wed morning and I had to be up at 6am.It woke me. After 45 mins I called Reception and they stopped it. However I was wide awake then and couldn't get back to sleep until 4am. Please will the Hotel adopt a policy as many do of no noise after midnight on working days?
I asked for a nice room as it was a special occasion and we had a lovely room over looking the golf couse. Although restaurant closed the stables pub had excellent food !
The restaurant being closed on a Sunday night
