Breakfast was enjoyable and the staff were helpful.
Air con did not work in my room and outside in the corridor there was a bad sewage smell for 2 nights I was in hotel. I was put in another room, the mattress was of poor quality and there was obvious signs of wear and tear as we kept sinking into it, every time someone used water we could hear pipes rattling loudly. Lowest air con setting was 19 degrees in this room, 16 in previous room. Rooms not cleaned properly as both rooms had spiders webs hanging of the curtains and in the corners. In the first room the toilet wasn't cleaned properly, second room the bathroom was cleaner.
Friendly staff, very clean, quiet and the best part was the massive bed we had in the room where we could have easily fitted another 2 of us in! Comfy bed and pillows! Oh and if you want to go on the Internet just switch the smart tv on! :)
- Good service in the Marco Pierre White Restaurant - Good service in the hotel bar
- very disappointed in the breakfast - beds were too hard - cigarette ends outside room window which was by side-door used by staff - very noisy in the morning, cleaners had their room next door & parked bikes outside window - bathroom door poorly painted and black mould around the bath-seal.
A nice looking hotel in a good location, but probably in need of a major refurbishment. Spacious reception area with friendly and welcoming staff.
Had to have our room changed as the first one had not been cleaned to a very good standard. The public areas do not seem able to cope with the number of guests when the hotel is full. Breakfast is like feeding time at the zoo - chaotic and rather unpleasant. The bar staff are incapable of mixing standard cocktails, either from lack of knowledge or lack of ingredients. Leftover food from room service was left in the corridors for inordinate lengths of time. The rooms, although comfortable, look jaded and worn.
The spa had the best facilities I have used, very clean and the staff very helpful. The hotel was amazing, very clean and the beds very comfortable. My partner and I will be booking again very soon.
There wasn't anything to dislike the whole experience was 100%
Great Spa Excellent staff Clean hotel Good breakfast Nice gardens and surroundings on arrival
Room was noisy (air con or pipes from other rooms, couldn't work out what the constant humming was- luckily I had ear plugs with me) Awful view from our particular room but that wasn't important to us.
Pool, hydrotherapy pool, breakfast, steak house!
Hidden supplement for steak in the restaurant, overcharged on bill!
Comfortable room Friendly staff Good facilities - pool & spa Loved Marco Pierre white restaurant
Breakfast was a hit & miss Food quality was better on the busiest morning as food wasn't left standing
Staff around the hotel were excellent. Great setting. Wonderful facilities. They even found my "lost" shoes and posted them back to me.
Too few bar staff at the private function we attended.
Stephanie on reception was very pleasant, professional and helpful - an asset to the hotel. All staff very friendly and helpful. Spa area excellent. Bedroom comfortable with good standard of bed linen and fluffy towels. Specious bathroom, well appointed. Excellent soundproofing, no out of room noise. Lovely tv and courtesy tray. Excellent value for money. I have stayed here a few times and will return. Would definitely recommed.
Almost nothing. If being picky I would say that the room is slightly too warm - but this is just my personal preference.
Breakfast quality shocking. No consistency in spa- we were told no children after 6 but other children in pool until 7.30 and also in hydropool with no staff taking action.
Comfy bed Spa facilities
Lots of Sand in jacuzzi area Room not re- stocked after previous occupants Noise from air con or something from outside all night was slightly annoying A few tiles missing from jacuzzi area which was a little dangerous
Staff were lovely, place was stunning
Friendly staff, clean rooms and very good facilities
Noise in a morning sounded like somebody was drilling!!! Bed was a bit hard. Poor guy working at the bar looked like he was struggling as he was understaffed so service was not so fast.
Room v comfortable
Too big and too busy
The Wedding Venue was excellent and Callum was most attentive to detail the room so attractively set out
Nowhere quiet to sit ,and read ,the lighting was not bright enough for reading . one either had to sit in a corridor or the entrance or in the Brasserie area, especially if the disco is loud ..
Room was good, clean, good bed, good toilet/shower. Staff was also good.
If you're visiting Chester, the hotel is quite far away from the city centre, so I wouldn't recommend.
Beds are so comfy and big, you can share it without knowing there is anyone else next to you. Room was quiet no doors banging etc. Breakfast was excellent as always and staff were lovely.
my croissant was stale but plenty of other things to eat!
This is a comparatively modern hotel in a very convenient location, although the outdoor space is limited. Staff were friendly and prepared to go the extra mile. The bedrooms were spacious, comfortable and well designed, as were the bathrooms. We ate well in both restaurants and the bar was also comfortable. The spa is excellent, although the pool is comparatively small and would probably not be best suited for children. We liked being able to abandon the car and use the regular local buses to get into the centre of Chester.
Facilities and food all good
Matress a bit hard
Lovely location and staff were always happy to help.
Cot requested at booking was not in room but this was rectified quickly.
Good size of bedroom , relaxed atmosphere in all area's of hotel, meals good value for money.
On arrival large crackes in wash basin, asked to moved to a new room , not a problem , free drink with evening meal to say sorry, their mistake should not been in service needed to be replaced.
Lovely hotel nice spa facilities just outside the city centre
Service was a little bit slow in the bar and food wasn't as nice as I expected in the brasserie but other than that was lovely and would definitely stay again
Everything from start to finish had us more and more excited. Lovely hotel, amazing room and great staff to top it all off. We would definately stay with you again !
The only thing bad was when we was sat eating in the restaurant we had a hen party behind us playing drinking games that got very loud but nothing that you could prevent
Clean tidy good facilities and nice location
The Air con was off and on all night I couldn't make my mind up if I was to hot or to cold ...and it would not turn up or down or OFF.
