Nice ambience. The way the theme of Imperial Crown was brought out with the decor and pictures in the Wallis Windsor Dining Room and the photos of contemporary royalty on the staircase.

Location and food was good For the 2nd time in staying the shower was not working! This time it was the flexible pipe tyat was bent and split making the shower totally unusable. The bathrooms are looking very tired now and need some renovation, including ensuring that a usable shower is available to foks like me who do not like baths.

When we returned to the hotel the key cards wouldn't work as the computer system had gone down...... it took over an hour for the staff to get us access to our room, despite being offered a free drink whilst we waited we found that we were actually expected to pay for it! The room was clean but the bathroom basin was blocked with something which made the water take an age to drain away and left an unpleasant smell.

The hotel was more intimate then a standard chain hotel and there were staff that were very hospitable. It had a homely atmosphere about it. The room we had was of standard hotel style but slightly shabby and small for a double. The wardrobe door hung off the hinges. The windows were frosted glass so no view and they did'nt open and the one in the bathroom was cracked. The bathroom looked like it had not been refurbished since the mid 80's and had mould on the ceiling. The hotel had a general musty smell and felt damp. The general appearance of the hotel was that it had not been updated or refurbished for at least 15 years as the furniture, fixture and fittings were all slightly grubby. The reception staff were really not that welcoming on arrival or check out and that's your first impression so its important. But for the price we paid it was not that bad and we did not see any other rooms so can't comment on what they may be like. But I would stay again at the price we paid and the bar staff that night were very pleasant. At the end of the day you get what you pay for.

The resaurant and its proximity to the site of my buisness trip and the museums The room and bed were supposed to be a double but was very 'compact' not much room for 2 unless 1 was laid on the bed shower running from the taps, a little difficult to get right mix and power, and not being able to open the window for fresh air

Although at £9.95 I thought the breakfast expensive , it was extremely good. Young man on reception was very polite but did not even ask if we had enjoyed our stay We had room 108, the bed valance was filthy, however the bedsheet pillowcases and duvet cover were clean, nothing matched in the bedroom at all, the bathroom shocked me, broken taps, disgusting state of flooring around the toillet , broken tiles and shabby in total to say the least, I felt uncomfortable even using the facilities and would have complanined for the fact we were such a tight time schedule when we arrived to be at a function in Halifax. For the Corus group this beggars belief .

The location for the purpose of my visit was ideal. The value for money was great and though the rooms are on the small side they are very well equiped. Also I was glad to see a full size bath, I know it's not everyones cup of tea but nothing beats a long hot soak. The only issue that I had with the hotel was that the window of our room was over a local taxi rank. So between 3-5 in the morning I was kept awake by noisy drunks followed by very loud conversation between the drivers!!

We particularly liked the location, it was close to the railway station. Staff were efficient and courteous. The room was very hot and only had a very small window so we were unable to get air flowing to cool it down.

Staff were friendly and courteous Hotel was old fashioned and our room was very cramped. Not up to the standard we are used to.I Suppose in Ireland during the Celtic Tiger years a lot of hotels were newly built nd the standard was artificially upgraded so maybe we were spoiled a bit too much.

The staff were very friendly and everything was very clean and tidy and comfortable. The only let down was the car park, it was basically a pub car park down the road from the hotel and there were no security measures at all, but apart from checking on tha car all the time it was a pleasurable stay

It's proximity to my business venue and the grreting received at reception The restaurant service and food was of good quality also. At 74 I would have preferred a ground floor room - I did not request this however. The wardrobe door did not fit - I was unable to close it.

Location was very good. Staff were very helpful The decor of the hotel was tired and shabby.. An eclectic mix of interesting clocks and antiques and hideous ,cheap furniture. The whole place needs revamping , or they need a mainainence manager( How much does a tin of paint cost?) Breakfast was dreadful, couldn.t eat the cooked food...
