Set in a private estate built in 1877 and nestling in 5 acres of beautiful parkland between the Wolds and the River Humber, Oaklands Hall Hotel is ideally located for exploring Lincoln, Grimsby,...
Score from 77 reviews Very good
Built in 1879, the pretty Millfields Hotel is just a 5-minute drive from the coast. It has free fitness and spa facilities, an art deco bar, free parking and free Wi-Fi.
Score from 132 reviews Very good
Tired decor, frayed carpets, ripped curtains, broken windows, chipped mugs, dirty bathroom, stained bath and toilet - need I say more? Wi-Fi signal was so weak I gave up in the end. Couldn't wait to check out next morning. An due to stay in Grimsby again in the new year but it won't be here.
Good size room very clean and breakfast was very nice with a good choice. very comfortable bed, even though room looked out onto a main road slept well.
Great location if you want central Grimsby. Space in rooms were great. Car parking was ideal.
Carpets could have done with a refresh in the corridors as they were tatty. We found the room to be stuffy. Probably because the carpets in the room could do with a deep clean.
Very convenient access to town centre
Decor a little dated
Loved the fact no matter what time u showered or bathed there was always hot water, have stayed at other hotels where hot water was an issue.
Could have done with a blanket as the room was a bit cool, the carpet was a bit threadbare in places but it didnt spoil our stay.
FLOW AND TEMPETURE OF SHOWER
Staff were very friendly and knew what they were about. Room service was fast & efficient. Food was very nice. Room was clean & comfortable.
Building noise went on until 10.45pm. Room 'phone didn't work. Wi-Fi was very slow.
Clean comfortable room, helpful staff, proximity of hotel to train station, quality of food served at breakfast, wide selection of drinks available from bar and good overall value.
The meal in the evening was good value and enjoyable. Staff were very helpful, and could not do enough for us.
The room 307 which we had, needed a update, the kettle was on the dressing table without a tray, if there had of been a child with us, we felt this was extremely dangerous. Difficulty closing the bathroom door as the bathroom was so small. The windows were very draughty, so need attention. The breakfast was over priced, the orange juice was undrinkable. The price in all was £69 per night, we have had much better value elsewhere. We will not be staying at St James's Hotel again, and would not recommend it.
Room very clean inc bedding etc. Staff very helpful and cheery. Good central location.
Decor looking tired and just needs updating.
Very dated and was not the room as shown on booking.com website.
Price, Location and friendly staff.

Good staff, excellent breakfast and clean room
Rooms a bit tired
Great hotel for the price and location was brilliant,. So close to town centre
Friendly manner and helpfulness
There was not a spare blanket with the spare pillows
Excellent location, right in the middle of town centre. Free parking and wifi.
Unfortunately, the hotel in need of refurbishment. Although, clean, very tired. However, I would stay here again.
Clean, friendly & has a restaurant with good food
On Friday night they had a jazz band, they were good but I hate jazz.......not their fault :-))
Central for shops
Charge for wifi Very small bathroom
Friendly . Welcoming . Helpful . Staff
Very clean. Attentive staff. Good food (Breakfast). Lifts very handy and accessible. Corridors etc. well-lit. Everything needed in the room, which was easily large enough for our needs. Nice large bathroom.
Groups and couples chatting loudly as they passed right beneath our window, quite late at night. Very easy to miss the quick turn into the little road leading to the entrance. If you miss it, there is no Left Turn (needed to get back) for a long way.
Car park was good .staff were ok
The bed was far to soft it was like sleeping on marshmallow. The lifts are so old they are scary so we used the stairs that are not cleaned often enough in the morning it was like walking through a toilet. Carpets in room and all over need updating they are worn out!!
