Location and View
the view the suite (Room 56) the food the staff the food deal
Noisy Generator outside window !!! Definitely not value for money ..
A very nice hotel but the service seems to have significant problems and is far away from what you would expect from a hotel like this. E.g.: We arrived during dinner time and were told to carry all our bags and children up one floor and down one floor (2 adults, 2 small children, 3 heavy bags). Obviously a challenge - but they did not even ask if we need help. Second example: When we arrived the first time we were told that there is no table in the restaurant for us so we would have to have dinner somewhere else. Theye were not able to book a table for us in another restaurant. (Bad luck if you do not book your table with the room.)
location and views
our room was small, garden view , I would have liked a bigger window, our friends had a picture window and didnt pay as much. although the accesibility was fine expected a better room
The Laura Ashley design and quality of the rooms, the food was pretty good also !!
We liked everything

Hotel staff were very polite and accommodating. beautiful reception area in a glass box displaying the picturesque views of the lake. Lovely interiors. Bowness Bay is just a short walk down the hotel garden. Very much enjoyed my short stay. Would highly recommend this hotel!
pool facilities need upgrading, otherwise everything was perfect during my stay.
Fabulous location, great views of the lake below, endless grounds for kids to run and play, walking distance to village and cruises. Recently renovated.
Newly re-opened, staff were on a big learning curve, not all spoke English well. Food was average. We had a number of glitches but the reception staff were helpful in trying to overcome them. I think it will be excellent once all is sorted.
décor inside was stunning standing in the gardens looking at the lake breath-taking staff were so helpful
if you like English breakfast fine .but if you wanted cheeses and meats variety of breads you would be out of luck
Nicely fully refurbished rooms, lovely brand new bathrooms and attractive new public areas. Helpful staff and best of all fantastic location 2 or 3 minute walk down a gently sloping road to the centre of Bowness or down through the gardens right on to the lake front.
Due to some rooms facing the back of the hotel and others being a bit small, suggest you book the best rooms you can afford - lake view suites are fantastic choice if budget allows and include aircon where other rooms don't. If you have mobility difficulties, watch out as the antiquated lift is tiny and not all rooms can be accessed by it. Breakfast offering is a bit weak and can be a bit chaotic at busy times. Covered outside pool and changing areas have not been refurbished.
Beautiful spacious rooms and excellent location
Location View across lake Windermere if you pay for a lake view Suites are Laura Ashley & very comfortable Tea and coffee facilities, biscuits and sweets safe Spa toilet seat very clean rooms
telephones didn't work in room room cleaning service is at 4.30 when you are trying to get ready after a day out rather than a morning No room service so you have to get your own ice bucket from the bar!
We loved the lake view from our bedroom, the hotel location, the cleanliness, the décor and furnishings, the friendly and approachable staff and the fantastic breakfast. We'll definitely re-visit.
There was nothing to dislike
The hotel is over looking the Bowness pier, the view is fantastic. The furnitures are of very high quality, obviously almost all are Laura Ashley brand.
The hotel is under staffed, which seems to be the case anywhere else in England. The kettle was rusted from inside, wanted to have a replacement, called the reception several times around 8:30 in the evening, but nobady answered the phone, therefore had to go down to the reception and report the problem face to face. The hotel did not have a spare kettle, but the staff was kind enough to have offerred a pot of hot water.
We'd asked for a room with bath rather than shower room but arriving late were allocated a room with shower (room 20). On the second night we were moved to probably one of the best suites in the hotel, room 56. It certainly made it a great short break. The staff are very attentive and pleasant.
Breakfast was a bit chaotic, not enough staff to cope with a full sitting? Unfortunately the food in the Brasserie restricts choice and needs to be extended.
The location of the hotel was second to none. Excellent service in the restaurant Excellent meals (breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant) View from room 36 was stunning Furnishing in the room were quality All the staff were welcoming and friendly
this hotel is fantastic. The decor is lovely the staff cant do enough for you.The breakfast was lovely. We cant wait to go back and stay again.
The location is excellent, great for both lake boats and shopping.
The refurbishment is not quite finished, well I hope note as there are several things in the room that are 3 star but with a little touch would be four.
Like every thing , love it and I wish I will visit again
My wife and I found the girl on reception very rude. Also the rest of the staff seemed very miserable like they wanted to be somewhere else.
It was in good surroundings and central to most places to travel to. Could not fault staff very always friendly and helpful.
The location was excellent. Staff were helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much.
