The Belsfield Hotel    

This hotel has probably seen better days, but The view was fantastic, and the rooms where we ate and relaxed were pretty impressive.

The area was a lot busier than I had imagined.. Coniston was probably a better destination for a quiet time.

Lovely old hotel over looking the lake, felt special.

The view is great for the lake-facing room. Although the room is a little old, everything is clean and comfortable. We enjoy our time in this hotel.

We liked the traditional atmosphere and ambience of the Hotel and it's surroundings and the attention to detail by the staff.

Old rickety lift

Because I had read a bad review on your page I was expecting the worst. However I was very pleasantly surprised ! In my book the hotel was not shabby. It was quiet,clean and comfortable.The building characterful , the staff were very obliging and the breakfasts good.

I had to pluck up courage to use the clanking lift on my own.But when I got used to it ,it was not a problem

Not a good view from bedroom window in room 37< bit of wood on roof then a wall. Coffee in room very weak.

I thought the room first allocated was dowdy and in need of redecorating. It was a bit jaded!!! Needs a revamp and could be a 4 *

Breakfast too early for holiday makers. Perhaps an area for less formal eating that could go on a bit later. Dining facilities too rigid. How about one of the bar areas having lighter meals available. Leaking ceiling; but this was dealt with efficiently.

The shower was dangerous !! Could never predict the consistency of the hot and cold water. I know other guests had the same concerns
