Hotel staff were very polite and accommodating. beautiful reception area in a glass box displaying the picturesque views of the lake. Lovely interiors. Bowness Bay is just a short walk down the hotel garden. Very much enjoyed my short stay. Would highly recommend this hotel!
pool facilities need upgrading, otherwise everything was perfect during my stay.
Fabulous location, great views of the lake below, endless grounds for kids to run and play, walking distance to village and cruises. Recently renovated.
Newly re-opened, staff were on a big learning curve, not all spoke English well. Food was average. We had a number of glitches but the reception staff were helpful in trying to overcome them. I think it will be excellent once all is sorted.
décor inside was stunning standing in the gardens looking at the lake breath-taking staff were so helpful
if you like English breakfast fine .but if you wanted cheeses and meats variety of breads you would be out of luck
Nicely fully refurbished rooms, lovely brand new bathrooms and attractive new public areas. Helpful staff and best of all fantastic location 2 or 3 minute walk down a gently sloping road to the centre of Bowness or down through the gardens right on to the lake front.
Due to some rooms facing the back of the hotel and others being a bit small, suggest you book the best rooms you can afford - lake view suites are fantastic choice if budget allows and include aircon where other rooms don't. If you have mobility difficulties, watch out as the antiquated lift is tiny and not all rooms can be accessed by it. Breakfast offering is a bit weak and can be a bit chaotic at busy times. Covered outside pool and changing areas have not been refurbished.
Beautiful spacious rooms and excellent location
We loved the lake view from our bedroom, the hotel location, the cleanliness, the décor and furnishings, the friendly and approachable staff and the fantastic breakfast. We'll definitely re-visit.
There was nothing to dislike
The location of the hotel was second to none. Excellent service in the restaurant Excellent meals (breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant) View from room 36 was stunning Furnishing in the room were quality All the staff were welcoming and friendly
this hotel is fantastic. The decor is lovely the staff cant do enough for you.The breakfast was lovely. We cant wait to go back and stay again.
The location is excellent, great for both lake boats and shopping.
The refurbishment is not quite finished, well I hope note as there are several things in the room that are 3 star but with a little touch would be four.
Like every thing , love it and I wish I will visit again
It was in good surroundings and central to most places to travel to. Could not fault staff very always friendly and helpful.
The location was excellent. Staff were helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Love the location and the comfort of the rooms.
1. On arrival in reception there was an unpleasant atmosphere at one desk someone complaining room not ready. The other desk had 2 staff dealing with another complaint. 2. When we got to check in we were told room would be ready about 3pm, we came back at 3pm and told not ready for at least another hour, with heavy rain outside this was far from ideal, when we went to the room the porter told us this room had only been used once - so why the delay of an hour, as we were only staying for one night feel like we missed out on using the facilities available?? 3. The room has a slopping floor which I know can't be helped with an old building but made the room feel uneven, which was strange! 4. The shower drain was blocked so could only stay in the shower for 3 minutes before the tray was full. 5. The Wifi would not connect to our phones and devices despite following instructions given by the staff. 6. Feel that the continental breakfast is not worth £10, also when we stayed in April we did not pay that much. We feel these points spoilt our visit especially when paying over £200 for one night's stay!!
The family room was excellent, plenty of room for the three of us,lovely and clean and staff friendly, the breakfast was excellent and the location perfect close to everything.we have already booked for next February.
Very well refurbished
Room could be snagged again to finish off a great job
Everything apart from the pool
The pool was shabby and dirty
location, ambiance and decoration
brassiere food mediocre. chipped wine glasses at table including replacement one. Beds need to be bigger
The room location over looking the lake was beautiful and the actual hotel was lovely inside.
Our bed was uncomfortable I stayed in room 60 the bed is damaged and looks like it has been for a while, the bed dips in the middle, my husband spent most of the night on the sofa and I slept on the edge of the bed, I paid a lot of money for the room and don't expect a uncomfortable bed I also woke with a very stiff neck, also breakfast wasn't impressed with having to wait for food and drinks all the time, I had to ask two of your staff to get things as nothing was there, this was my husbands 40th birthday treat and too be honest I am disappointed with my stay.
Location was outstanding, Breakfast was excellent. Room was comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly.
View was very poor (Room 82). Drinks were expensive. Room was expensive.
