Loved the hotel, the lake and the town with all the shops and great restaurants. We had a wonderful time and will come back.
very good reception service, bags stright to room very helpfull people main hotel beautiful, food very good the Laura Ashley effect is fantastic, the view's are very good, nice mixture of new meets old (Building)
nothing all very good
the hotel was beautiful, with friendly staff in a great location, our room was lovely with everything you would need, we will definitely go back
Stayed in room 23 it was very warm and there was a extraction fan of some sort right outside the bedroom window which was very noisy.
decor of rooms high quality furnishings food quality location gardens lake view
Cleanliness let the room down e.g. cobwebs on ceiling, paint splashes in bathroom. Visitors often go walking and return in muddy boots therefore witnessed muddy footprints up the light coloured stair carpet. Needs to be polite request for visitors to remove muddy footwear and facility to do this comfortably.
The lake view at the restaurant was amazing and the rooms were cozy.
The service at breakfast wasn't pleasent at all. The wi-fi was poor in the room.
- Location - Value for Money - Free Wi-Fi - Great staff, changed pillows and quilts at the drop of a hat.
Location perfect. Bistro food very good.
One room very good, two rooms poor. However, the refurbishment was to start very soon. Have booked for a visit again
The suite we occupied was first class with a lovely view from both the lounge and bedroom.
The food in the Brasserie was in our opinion mediocre to much fish on the menu. We had Rib eye steak of which we left half as it was chewy
the new refurbished facilities
the lift was out of action during part of our stay which was on the second floor
location was ideal.
The cost of the hotel for room only and the high price of drinks.
The location above the lake is impressive and convienient.
Whilst the breakfast is as at most hotels the restaurant staff had no idea about how the food on the menu for dinner was prepared. It was in fact more about presentation than preparation. After one unsucessful meal we went elsewhere.
Got upgraded, which was a lovely surprise.
Pool was under maintenance
the spectacular location excellent service quality furnishings. Good size rooms. The overall atmosphere surrounding the hotel of first class service
surprised to find steak and chicken were off the menu at only 8 0pm but it did not spoil the stay
Locations Restaurant Cleaning Decoration Paper walls Lake view Cost
LOCATION WAS EXCELLENT, GROUNDS BEAUTIFUL, STAFF FRIENDLY, ROOM WAS LOVELY WITH A STUNNING VIEW.
WE WERE NOT TOLD ABOUT THE SWIMMING POOL CLOSURE AND ONLY DISCOVERED THIS WHEN WE HIT THE "BUILDING SITE" ON THE WAY TO THE POOL. THERE WAS ALSO MOULD IN THE FRIDGE AND NO CUCUMBER BEHIND THE BAR FOR HENDRICKS GIN... SHAME BECAUSE THIS WAS A SPECIAL EVENING AND IT TOOK THE SHINE OFF OUR STAY.
Furnishings and fittings Food good
Noisy fan from kitchen outside our room Dinner took over 2 hours and confusing courses Expensive £3O extra to have meal in restaurant.
Great location overlooking lake, Great food, Good staff, Nice decor ( well its Lara Ashely of course), great access with sizeable car park...Overall very good hotel
an older building based on stairs so someway forgivable but the one guest lift to higher rooms which while quaint with iron pull over security door was so tiny & took a lot of manouvering with a stroller, baby left zero room for anything else and took a while to work out how to get them in it..had to take 2 trips to take bags also, not easy access for those in similar or i am sure for disabled. small standard room was quote small esp bathroom which was a shower room only..not enough to upset an otherwise good stay but will stick in our mind..
Location was perfect
checking in, room was not ready at 3pm, so we asked to sit outside and have a drink for 20mins, after 45 , i asked about room , they forgot about us, apart from that lovely Hotel to stay
almost every thing
The elevator too small and old design , Not all rooms has AC for the summer.
The view and location
Safe in bedroom was too high had to stand on a chair to reach inside
The view from hotel to lake. The staff were very friendly.location of hotel was good and close to the restaurants and shops.
Unfortunately we found our room toilet seat rather dirty and reported at the reception. There was no tissue in the tissue box and no air condition in our room and hence it was kind of stuffy.
I have stay in a suit on 1st floor with lake view, bath tube, sofa, dinning table. Everything just perfect. Clean and new on everything, nice buffet breakfast, superb view. I am sure this is 1 of the best hotel in this area. Receipt staff superb friendly and warm.
The parking space is very full. I still can park next to the reception but just surprisingly full, it is not a small car park. The staff in the breakfast restaurant is lacking some smile and abit cool. Anyway just minor problem.
Excellent food in both brasserie and restaurant. Tried both. Breakfast very good. Free wi fi. Stunning views.
Wish I could have stayed longer. Couldn't make my mind up whether to sit in the beautiful room and enjoy the stunning view or sit on the patio to look at it. Decisions decisions decisions.
A dirty wine glass found under the chest of drawers in the bedroom
