The location and vista was excellent. Interior design was gorgeous.. Meals were beautiful.
Wifi was non-existent and not fixed when reported. Room was freezing as heating will not work, although the staff did give us a small portable heater when we reported the problem.
Minor problems regarding check in and communication errors
High standards throughout, clean, well decorated, friendly staff, good food. Loved the hot floor in the bathroom! (important that the hotel was warm in winter). Great view across Lake Windermere. Lovely break!
Nothing really. Maybe the Bistro menu was a bit limited after a couple of days - so we ate in a restaurant locally - easy.
The Hotel was beautifully decorated, very clean and warm. The staff; especially at reception were brilliant. Our room was overlooking the Lake and was exceptionally clean and warm. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and evening meals were splendid.
A bit of noise from the guests in the room above us just after midnight, although we have had that all over the world in some of the 'best' Hotels.
The staff were friendly, the food was excellent and a good price, the hotel has been refurbished to a high standard. We have stayed before and will again.
The dining room was quiet and with only 2-3 tables in use it lacked atmosphere just a little. In the afternoon a large group checked in and were very loud, they drank for a few hours and stayed indoors, but harmless and in offensive, just loud for such a beautiful and otherwise peaceful place.
Throughout our stay the staff went the extra mile to make us feel so welcome and that their number one priority was to attend to our needs. The food particularly in the brasserie was first class and the service acompanying that food was first class also.
The pillows were poor. Far to soft for any level of comfort. The sash windows in our suite (Number 30) rattled rather noisily in the wind which affected my sleep, Whilst the refurbished decor is, on the whole, very impressive, having stayed pre refurb, some of the character (and quaint charm) has disappeared. In particular, what was once the bar (and I think a lounge/library) was very Agatha Christie. One could imagine Miss Marple sitting there amongst the red decor. Being in our sixties my friends and I felt saddened that this beautiful character bar had gone.
Personal attention of the staff. Excellent food and service.
first time we stayed here we was totally disapointed when it was the bellsfield but this time wow is all i can say staff and layout 100% better
getting a dirty look off the lady with the new BMW and i drive a w reg peugeot when parking up in the carpark but thats life
The Hotel, the view, the food and the people.
The pool was not available
Went for my boyfriends birthday as a treat. Loved Every minute, the views were amazing and so was the room. The food was lovely and there was quite a lot of choice. The staff were very attentive from the minute we walked in. And the fresh warm mulled wine made us feel in the festive mood. Will definitely be going back. Thank you
big spacious rooms lovely staff lovely decor breakfast in the room
restaurant food coldness near the windows
hotel was in a beautiful location over looking Windermere, room was nicely designed, and had a modern feel.
only thing was a shortage of parking, but wasn't really a problem.
Hotel surpassed every expectation. Staff professional and all in the right industry as couldn't do enough, and looked happy in their jobs. Pool was out of action due to refurb, but alternative pool provided at neighbouring hotel which was very luxiourous and excellent customer service. Thank you all
Hotel was slightly over hot in rooms, but slept with window open, but everybody has their own preferred temperature so just personal taste, not a problem.
Comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast.
Room view. Room far too hot. Had to open window all night so extraction fans outside our room kept us awake all night.
Stunning view from our room. Friendly staff and very relaxing stay.
Lovely hotel located very central. Staff and food were very good and hotel decor was lovely
The view from our room over the car park, bit noisy too . my husband asked for a nice view as it was my birthday so bit disappointed not to get one.
Really hard to find fault with this Hotel ---- was upgraded to a suite so lovely surprise to start the 2 night stay. Great suite with lake views ---- refurbished bars /rooms/brasserie all excellent. Food good ----- staff really nice and helpful.--- Will go again.
Rooms and bars a little too warm for me ---- new Toilets/ Bidet with warm seats ----- Hillarious . Restaurant food still has the ( 5 course £40 each ) idea which I thought was stupid ----- just do a REAL menu !
location comfort decor can not compliment the state of the accommodation enough
food.. for the price i would have expected a better buffet for breakfast and menu options. we booked half board, the evening menu options were very very limited for vegetarians. we barely touched our food.. this was the only let down, which is such a shame really.. also shame they can't add a bed to a double room
Location is exceptional, the rooms are very clean and comfortable as you would expect from this class of hotel, the staff are efficient and courteous. I'd stay here again.
The restaurant is well proportioned and has a nice layout and ambience, it's a shame then that the food was a disappointment, everything was overcooked and lacked flavour. The wine list is minimal but functional. Don't bother reserving a table, there are many better places to dine in Town.
location facilities cleanliness comfort breakfast view from the restaurant staff helpful and attempted to accommodate request for early check in and late check out was given - attending family wedding for the weekend
view from the room rooms not all together as a family
The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were lovely. We stayed in room 68 abd the view was amazing .. Was very hit in the room, we had to sleep with window open. We will be staying again very soon xx.
The whole experience was overwhelming. Staff helpful and polite. Stayed in room 73 in the tower. Breathtaking view! Food was excellent too. Cannot fault this hotel!
The hotel is beautiful decorated in laura ashley very clean and breakfast was very good only stayed one night wished we could of stayed longer. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
We had to leave
Food was excellent Staff were freiendly Fantastic location
Swimming pool was closed for refubishment.
Gorgeous hotel with beautiful location and grounds. It is worth paying extra for a room with a lake view. The hotel staff are all very professional and welcoming. Our dinners in both brasserie and restaurant were outstanding. Magic weekend.
