Cosy ,good location with nice garden and front view of lake. Short walk to shops and restaurants .

Little run down but is over 150 years old but still as charm.

Excellent location and very friendly staff

not really a dislike but at 9.30 on a Saturday night after dining in the hotel there was nobody apart from my wife and myself in the lounge bar so obviously no atmosphere whatsoever which could of been attributed to the cost of the drinks !!!

The location and very high quality of customer service by everyone. Everyone was very professional, friendly, and respectful. This created a warm welcoming atmosphere making you feel very comfortable.

There was nothing not to dislike. (Except perhaps provide adequate outside seating for diners at peak times to enjoy the fabulous view whilst dining.

location. room overlooking the lake was fabulous. hotel pool was excellent. Breakfast was very good and waiter service good.

on arrival at hotel we couldnt get room keys until 4pm check in should have been 3pm.sauna was out of order.Food was very expensive & very overpriced.

Very convenient location , by the windermere lake, near cruise piers ,shops and eateries. Sprawling grounds.

Views spectacular. Room quiet and spacious. Great terrace bar. Central location for Lake District. Close to restaurants shops and boats

Reception was not very attentive, the service at breakfast as well. The facilities (pool, shower, bathroom) were a bit outdated.

Fantastic views over Lake Windermere. Make sure you book a room with a Lake View. Very close to the lake side activities. Great gardens to walk around. Hotel with lovely character.

Fantastic location with stunning views of Lake Windermere. The evening meal we had at the hotel was excellent. All staff we came into contact with were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall a great holiday experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our room, which was described as a 'stunning lake view room' and it was certainly that.comfortable bar lounge and plenty of areas for a quiet read or to sit and admire the views from every communial room.Beautiful well set-out gardens with plenty of seating arrangements.

It is hard to pin-point anything to dislike about this hotel.

The hotel was lovely, the staff very pleasant the view from the garden was glorious we had a wonderful time and will definetly be coming back to explore more as a couple of days is not long enough.It was the best location by far for everything.

needs refurbishment. In particular the bathroom shower and dangerous old fashioned lift.

Lake views friendliness of all staff at all times dinner menu changing offering variety and watching sun set over the Lake while we were there.

On the last night coversations in public library area were noisy and not conducive to normal conversation so we retired to our room. But even that was a minor blip on 3 days of quality!
