Convenient location to major road.
Unfortunately there were frequent loud door bangings through the night and the noise from the heating pipes kept waking us up.
The location is very convenient.
The room was very old , the shower mat needs replacing , did not use it .There was an annoying knocking sound not sure where it was coming from. Room 31
No wall plugs plus in the room Room too small for 3
The character of this hotel was great. A comfortable stay.
Slamming doors early in the morning woke us up
It was easy to find and park. The breakfast was good.
We had no enough towels, only 2 for 4 people. Asked twice for more but never arrived.
Helpful staff, clean room, convenient to A45
Major roadworks at the motorway junction
The ambience of the hotel was warm and embracing, Christmas decorations very tasteful .
Though the breakfast was very good it was disappointing to have to serve hot food onto cold plates - this is a catering failure. The toilet flush in room 72 was problematic.
Comfy bed Lovely food
Breakfast cooked to order Friendly staff
Room decor and furnishing from 1980s Single glazed aluminium windows - condensation, noise, draughts Fluorescent light above door buzzed all the time
When the tv was set to a different language I went to the front reception and a member of staff came to my room straight away and set the tv to English for me.
There wasn't anything that I disliked about the hotel if thought it was excellent.
Room was comfortable and breakfast started the day off well. Staff were generally good although some of the bar staff need to be shown how to pull a pint of Guiness correctly. All in all a very nice stay.
One evening there was a group of 4 very loud men who were drinking heavily and swearing excessively with very strong language. There were other guests present including children. Several staff were in the lounge but none of them requested that the group quiten down. It spoiled our evening and the whole feel of what was until then a very good, country type hotel.
Rooms awful with shabby furniture, cracked sink, stained mirrors, windows dirty and would not open. Rooms on show are in main house and classed as superior, other rooms in a wing and are not shown and I know why!!
We had a really massive room in the old part of the hotel with a 4 poster bed which was very comfortable. Room was very clean and quiet. We didn't eat at the hotel apart from breakfast, but the room was very well equipped. The staff were friendly & efficient, I had asked for a taxi to take us to our dinner date which they organised on time.
It is not always that I complain about the room temperature but it was very warm. The breakfast was ok, I'm not a big fan of help yourself breakfasts because there is always something running out, the food was fine but the tables were not cleared very quickly due to there only being 2 members of staff. Shower was very weak.
Food was well cooked, well presented, tasty and served by helpful and cheerful staff - all at a reasonable price. Also liked the large spacious public areas.
Pleasant, sociable staff. Hotel has nice , comfortable oldie world feel. (Though not that old) Acceptable bedrooms.
Suburban surroundings so not a place to spend the day. Had to ask for the chef to put some soup in the soup bowl and had to wait ages for the chef to produce more rolls..
Restaurant for breakfast
Shower over bath
very comfortable and great value for money for my visit to the Painting and Decorating show at the Ricoh will rebook for nect year
nothing at all
The Chace Hotel is an ideal place to stay due to it's central location. The hotel itself is lovely, and the rooms of the hotel's extensions are adequate. The restaurant and the staff make this a place to remember.
Having stayed at The Chace a number of times without issue, one stay was marred by people who seemingly wanted to party in their room all night. The night porter did find us another room to move us and our luggage to (at ten to two in the morning); but in this instance wasn't prepared to do much regards the noisy neighbours. Great shame.
Didnt like the fact the windows were hard to open and the room was too warm despite efforts of calling staff to open the window.
Overall the hotel was nice. The staff were very friendly.
For the price you pay I was expecting a totally different experience. The hotel is very dated and feels very tired. I understand the hotel gives a country mannor feel; however the bathrooms have avocado green and although clean look like they have been well used. Same as the room on the whole. Clean but very well used. I didn't expect this for the price charged
The staff were friendly and very obliging. We were there to celebrate a family 60th birthday party. I lost an earring but the staff found it and are sending on to me so I am very impressed with them!
we only paid £48 which i consider to be a bargain. Some say its a bit tired, well its scrupulously clean with friendly staff and maybe the rooms in the extension are a little dated but still large, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast room lovely
had a dripping overflow outside which was a little annoying but only noticed when woke up at 05:00 Breakfast was good but a little pricey and would have liked to be offered fried eggs.
Great location, good parking, clean room and towels. Bar area was nice with quick service
Wifi was slow or didn't connect, room service food standard didn't match description on menu. Traffic heavy due to work on road
I had a room for 3... We had two at first I last minute had to change the booking, straight away they accommodated our needs.. fresh towels everyday polite staff I went to a festival security was brilliant... as long as you respect silence you have no issues... I would love to come back again and again such a lovley work team. .. out of all the hotels I've been in... this for me is a top 5 favourite...
There wwas nothing in regards to the hotel that I could say was unsatisfactory. .. everything worked in the room... had a very blessed stay...
