Good staff, nice location for the area. Clean room, functional although basic. Good housekeeping.

The usual: not enough toiletries, tea/coffee/sugar etc. And we got the rooms for half-price; had I paid the full amount I certainly wouldn't have been impressed or satisfied. I don't think we could have stayed longer than our planned 3 nights in the room.

Staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Had a lovely meal on our first night. Rooms were adequate for our needs.

We were in Coventry for a convention which meant an early start. Breakfast was difficult over the weekend as it didn't start until 8.00am. However staff did arrange for us to have a continental breakfast, which was much appreciated.

We found the family room small, yet had everything you needed. The rooms were clean.

    Not a lot

The hotel had no lift, I am disabled and would not have booked if I knew there was no lift. The staff we met , did not seem to appreciate that we wanted a receipt when we paid cash. The room was disappointing, and the bathroom seemed unclean on the floor.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent.

Bedrooms looking a bit scruffy, bed not very comfortable, better ventilation and some air con would be a plus

The afternoon receptionist was very helpful. Free wifi was very useful. The original part of the Hotel was impressive (as per the advertisement photo)

The accommodation we stayed in was not part of the original building but a very ugly built-on block (not shown in the advertisement photo). The family room was uncomfortably warm when we arrived. The only window in the room was a modern sash-style window which opened fully which would be extremely dangerous for a young child as the built-in desk in front would have made it very easy for a child to climb up and fall out from a first floor room. The only chair in the room was horribly stained. The carpet was frayed and badly worn. There was mould in the corner of the bathroom floor. The extraction fan did not work in the bathroom. The tap/shower fitting on the bath was old, dirty and had parts missing. The bed was very uncomfortable. Outside our room there were double swinging fire doors which banged together every time someone went through which shook the wall at the head of the beds making it very difficult to sleep. Overall, the room was very tired and in need of refurbishment. The buffet style breakfast was lukewarm and had obviously been sitting there for a long time before we arrived. Apart for the initial direction to our table, and being shown where the buffet was, there was no further interaction from any member of staff. Not once were we asked if everything was OK. Even when we handed back our key to reception on departure, all we got was an "OK thanks" from someone in a room behind the reception area. There was no effort made to ask how our stay had been. I believe there are executive rooms in the original Hotel building which may be of a completely different standard but the family room we stayed in was quite simply awful.

Old, dilapidated furnishings (from the 70's) only 3 plug sockets, one for the TV, one for the fan (hot part of July), we had the usual electronics, phones etc. Bathroom dated, mold, basic shower. Carpets were dirty, gritty & bubbly in parts, mold around the windows

Rooms where clean and comfy, location was good for our stay-warwick castle. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and had good knowledge of local attractions.

Stayed in room 53, was woken both mornings(5.10am) by the sound of banging water pipes, I complained and was told that it was what happens as boiler is on that side of building!! Numerous others had also complained, but nothing had be done about it. Tad annoying as I was on mini break and didn't enjoy being woken up at that time in the morning!! Also, we were in the 1970s built annenex, which isn't shown on the pictures, so you think when you book room that you're staying in the lovely old part if the hotel.
