Great value hotel for the money. Helpful staff and great room. They only have a very small seasonal menu but the quality is fantastic and great value!

Reception particularly pleasant, helpful and efficient. Room service query very pleasantly handled by the young man who dealt with it. Disappointed the prawn salad on the menu was not available (early evening Friday ?) Some noise outside Friday night up to 1in morning. Possibly from smokers who used the porch nearby at other times.

Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Unfortunately the bathroom ceiling had a lot of black mould on it despite the extractor fan.

Breakfast good quality. Dinner was very good quality, particularly the soup. Location is very convenient for our regular trips to Scotland. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Slamming fire doors were very loud and disturbing and therefore our experience could have been improved had the doors been suitably sound proofed. Also, the shower door left a gap at the bottom which therefore soaked the floor. Sky tv /football would have been good. Otherwise a fantastic stay. Thanks.

For the business traveller it is a convenient location just a mile from the M6 junction ( J17?) . An older hotel but completely modernised inside and a typical 3* type hotel. Room was nothing special but fine. Bar snack arrived promptly and was well presented and tasty. Hotel was rather quiet ( it was December ) and the large lounge was semi deserted. Bar was unattended most of the time due to the lack of customers and only fizzy beer available. Breakfast was slow arriving considering the small number of guests. Bathroom had no heating and was cold.

We've stayed several times before, but this was the first time we'd eaten @ there & we arrived late! The food was excellent, it is a limited menu, but that is a good thing because at least what was on offer was of a great quality. There were occassions when it was difficult to track down a member of staff, but once you did they were very efficient & polite.

Very good hotel for service and food. Room was very comfortable. The shower in the room was very poor. Sometimes we had no hot water and the pressure was dreadful. We ordered a daily newspaper, but for some reason it wasn't logged so we didn't always get one.

Woman at breakfast was a breath of fresh air after the miserably average welcome from the rest of the staff. Happy and smiling! Staff were ok but didn't go out of their way to make you feel welcome, more of an inconvenience for reception and the bar.

Apart from breakfast which was excellent though grossly understaffed but by wonderfully friendly staff, the best feature was the enormous bed. After that leaving was a great pleasure. I should mention that the staff throughout were very pleasant and helpful but appeared poorly trained and seemed to have no manager. The hotel is 4 star - a joke surely. Reception were incrdibly friendly though initially unable to provide more than one room key. Late arrival understandably offered a reduced menu however my duck was undercooked even after a second attempt and the replacement pasta seemed to be served in tomato soup rather than sauce. The 2 courses for 2 with a bottle of decent house wine cost an extortionate £65 and the shower was almost useless. Staff training is definitely poor.

convenient for the M6 quiet hotel good time span to partake of breakfast and evening meal. Friendly and attentive staff. Same menu for evening meal each night ( in the restaurant) We were staying three nights! also only a fried egg as choice in breakfast menu, no scrambled or poached. Surprised as this is a 4 star hotel!

Location was good for our trip to Manchester, from Wiltshire. Accomodation was fine and peaceful even though it was not far from the motorway. Shower was lacking power. The paint work was looking tired in the main areas

A great hotel in a pleasant countryside location, close to m6, good for traveling to South Cheshire or North Staffordshire locations. Would stay again, and would recommend to anyone. Friendly staff, very helpful in sorting taxi's to get us to Holmes Chapel and back.

Overall all our family (including our little dog) were made to feel very welcome and pampered. It cost a little bit more but was well worth it.” Ann, Llanarthne |
