Area information

The Chimney House Hotel is ideally located for great days out. Roman Chester (28 miles), with 2,000 years of history, is one of Europe's top heritage cities boasting a complete circuit of walls, sections of which date back to Roman times. A Norman Cathedral can also be found here.

Other attractions include the beautiful River Dee, the recently restored Grosvenor and Cheshire Military Museums, a Roman Amphitheatre, the lovely Grosvenor Park and the city's famous Roodee Racecourse.

Also in Chester is the UK's largest zoological gardens, with over 7,000 animals in spacious enclosures set in 110 acres of landscaped gardens.

Alton Towers is just over 30 miles away.

The Peak District National Park is only 25 miles away, with its beautiful open spaces, and The Potteries, rich in industrial heritage. Jodrell Bank, with the world famous Lovell Radio Telescope and Observatory, has a visitor centre with a wealth of exhibitions and attractions

By Car (from the North):
- Exit the M6 at junction 17 and turn left at top of the T-junction.
- Follow the road around, heading towards Congleton on the A534.
- The hotel is situated on the right, just after the bend.

Directions from the South:
- Exit the M6 at junction 17 and turn right at top of the T-junction.
- Cross over the motorway, following the road around, heading towards Congleton on the A534.
- The hotel is situated on the right, just after the bend.

By Train (from Sandbach train station):
- Turn right onto the A533.
- At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A533, following the road down, over the next roundabout signposted for Congleton.
- At the T-junction, turn left onto the A534 heading over the motorway and following the road around.
- The hotel is situated on the right, just after the bend.

By Bus:
- A local bus service operated by D&G passes the hotel twice every hour via Congleton, passing through Sandbach and terminating at Crewe.
