The Crown Hotel  

Nice hotel. Looked very well on the outside with the lovely flowers! Great breakfast.

It was a little bit cold in the room.

The room was very dusty and the fan was blowing cold air how ever we were give 5 extra blankets that was how cold the room was 506

The lay out of the foyer, bar and restaurant are ok

The rooms are on a par with the Premier Inn chain but unlike the Premier inn you are very poor value for money. The carpets in the annex are disgraceful. The toast that was served with breakfast was incinerated. Definitely will not be staying again.

Very little closet space to hang clothes and no drawers in the room.

The room was really over priced for what it was. Breakfast was extra!, which was outrageous and the decor was tired. I think they think of themselves as luxury, but it was far from that, and yet you paid luxury prices!

The town of Bawtry was delightful. Our evening meal and breakfast were very good.

The reception staff were LESS than helpful. We didn't get the morning paper we ordered and were told were the newsagents was to buy one! Would not stay here again.

As it was my husbands birthday we booked into the restraunt for a meal the food was beautiful good portion sizes and lots of choice, the service was great and staff very friendly and made us feel really relaxed and comfortable

There was nothing that me or my partner can fault, the service was great the staff were lovely and really helpful and the location and room and overall the whole hotel was perfect for us we can't fault it

The wet room in our bedroom

All the stairs and no lift and no porterage to assist with our luggage. Also on arrival I asked if its ok to park outside in the market square at reception and was told it was.however in the morning I found my car had a parking ticket. I won't be staying there again as a result

Bawtry is a very nice place, very clean and neat.

We were in the annexe building, which can get a bit noisy when the loos start up in the morning - the water pipes are fairly audible.

the staff were very friendly. The hotel decor was boutiques and stylish. The food in the restaurant was good.

The cuisine was very good.

My room was cold, no heating on the room radiators nor in the bathroom. The bathroom had a wet area with two showers, potentially very nice for a couple, but as it was cold and the flow of hot water from the shower was poor. Very poor value for money. I have stayed in much better accomodation for less money.

So noisy in courtyard which my room overlooked. Also first impression arriving Friday evening was a bouncer on the door- made me wonder why, not a welcoming look!

Insufficient parking Public areas very nice and modern - bar, restaurant etc From the momenyt we were directed up the staircase to our bedroom we became disappointed with the shabbiness and dark colours. The bedroom was comfortable but every element of it was dark - brick wall, wood-clad wall, dark curtains, dark bedding.

The breakage was wry disappointing, slow service and didn't taste great.

It was convenient for Doncaster racecourse which was the purpose of our visit. Nice rooms, good breakfast. Bawdry is a lovely town.

The piped music running through the hotel didn't go off until 12.30am and came back on at 6.24am which not only kept me awake but woke me up early. It was like someone in a car outside your window having their radio on loud. I wanted a taxi to take us to the racecourse and all I got was a list of taxi numbers all of which were fully booked. Perhaps a note with the booking to book taxis in advance would have been good or perhaps a feeder bus? There was no offer of help - I should have been better prepared but I thought that a hotel that partners the racecourse would be more racing friendly.

The room perfectly suited us. Bathroom very clean. Beds very comfortable. No noise from neighbours. Breakfast perfectly cooked (eggs in particular).

No Sky TV in lounge/bar area.

The bathroom door is glass with a big gap underneath so not making it very private. Other guests were not very considerate and were shouting and stomping down the corridor at very early hours of the morning. Usually Booking.Com means you pay on arrival/departure at the hotel but our card was charged before we'd stayed??
