Perfect location well appointed modern room
Parking is restricted
friendly staff excellent service Food excellent
Bathroom, problem turning on the shower due to the positioning of the shower screen In this age of duvets etc.we were disappointed to find blankets.
I couldn't open the windows and there's no aircon, even though clearly the facilities are installed.
Accommodation very comfortable Efficient check in. Good Bar facilities. Handy secure carpark
Breakfast service was poor. Waited 15 minutes for an order and was then informed they had run out of muffins. Considered the hotel overpriced for the general standard.
comfortable room noisy guests next room but soon quietened down when they returned in the early hours of the morning. Nice large room good amenities.
The glass door into bathroom. The limited space in the bathroom
The location is right in the middle of the town, making it very easy to enjoy the night life and eating facilities. Good atmosphere and very friendly people.
The only thing that was a slight problem was the parking. The hotel car park was full due to a wedding taking place there, but we were offered alternative parking over the road.
The crown is a lovely hotel set in the beautiful market town of bawtry
I know it may seem like I'm nit picking but when you pay over £100 for a room, I think it's justified. The bathroom, though it was large, was grubby around the bath sill, it was evident that some tiles had fallen off and it was a bodged attempt of sticking them back on with silicone sealer of all things! The tea making facilities couldn't be plugged in to their supposed area due to the fact the cupboard/desk was butted right up to the wall and couldn't be moved, so the kettle had to moved and used on the carpet next to the bed, which is unsafe in my opinion. Also the windows couldn't be opened in either the room or the bathroom which is surely against Health and Safety regulations. The room was ridiculously warm and the only thing to cool it down was a little desk fan which just circulated warm air. I'm very disappointed in my stay if I'm completely honest. I've stayed here several times before, once being my wedding day/night and this has got to be my worst stay to date.
Rooms too hot view from room was a wall with building rubble near it
location was central to pubs and restaurants
Rooms were stifling hot, no air flow in room other than a small fan Very noisy at night due to revellers in street below
Very nice room , good friendly staff,
Quite expensive for room only , extremely hot room , there was a air con panel on wall and I spent ages trying to get it to work , only to be told in morning that it wasn't air conditioning , also not many tv channels
The room and breakfast were well up to our expectations and the staff were outstanding.
The room was modern and clean
Getting a parking fine for parking in the hotel car park. The hotel has requested that it is quashed but it was still a shock
Very good food, excellent reception staff, very comfortable room after upgrade and convenient position in lively and attractive small town
Unreliable hot-water system; most rooms only have standard double beds unless you go for an upgrade and single beds don't move together due to fitted furniture.
Nice modern rooms with lovely bathrooms Nice restaurant and bar facilities
Breakfast not included in quite expensive room rate
Location friendly staff
Not enough parking, had to keep coming back to put money in the meter, for the price you are paying for the room i would have expected safe secure parking for all guests. The room was very hot and can only open a very small window, needs air con.
Lovely rooms spacious an modern
Says you get fruit platter , chocolates and water when booking room never had any on arrival.
Staff service Location Food
Noic(weddings two nights) Carpet on the floor smell
Relaxed, fantastic food and great staff definitely would return
the food was amazing staff very friendly made you feel very welcome would deffinitely stay there again
nothing at all was a brilliant weekend
This hotel was lovely we had a lovely room and a free basket of goodies were in the room for us. Breakfast was fantastic. Would def go back :))))
They only thing I would say was there is no lift so anyone who struggles with steps would have to request a lower floor room.
Badly understaffed at bar and in the restaurant. Serious lack of ventilation in so called executive room, air-conditioning control unit in the room non functional, reception less than helpful or clear if the room even had air-conditioning. Small room with no functioning extraction in the bathroom so you either are kept awake by noise from the street with the small window in the room open or because its too hot with it closed. There is also insufficient parking for hotel residents so you end up paying to park on the street. As someone who spends a great deal of time staying in hotels this was a very disappointing hotel and certainly not worth a 4* rating.
The bed was extremely comfortable. Restaurant staff very friendly. Food lovely. Room very comfortable, sofa and lighting are a nice touch. Reception staff on checkin not as friendly as those at checkout.
Rooms hot, no AC/fan. A mini fridge would've been nice.
Reception staff very pleasant
The corridors leading the the rooms were dirty and smelly the room was like a sweatbox, i had to get a fan from reception. The view from the room (219) was akin to Beirut we had a twin room but was only give one large towel and one hand towel which i found unbelievable ! and on the whole £120 for a night here is a complete rip off
Easy access to A1 / M1 / M18. Breakfast was cracking although not included which surprised me.
Parking was poor - very tight and not enough spaces for all guests.
