We booked into a beautiful suite with a corner bath and four poster bed for a romantic weekend away.
Our room was double booked and we had to wait over 30 minutes to be placed into a new one. No big deal really until we weren't on the breakfast list and the woman insisted she would charge us again for breakfast. I tried to show her that my booking included breakfast and she dismissed me by saying that wouldn't help. Reception thankfully sorted it out for me. And then the icing on top. On the second night of our stay there was a late night disco right underneath our room and apparently this is a regular Saturday night event. Our walls were shaking and there was no chance we could relax or sleep or enjoy ourselves. The response of reception? To say we should have been warned at check-in. Rubbish. The basic contract involved in a hotel stay is a promise of a good night's rest. You can't expect to tell guests once they've travelled for hours to get to your hotel that you're breaking that contract. We were moved to an ordinary room elsewhere in the hotel and our night was ruined. This hotel needs to realise that when you offer a suite with a corner bath and four poster bed, couples might want to spend time in the room. You can't assume couples will be out on the town and not mind the racket going on until 1am.
I made a booking error and had to pay again, but the person working at reception went over and above to keep us happy as we were upgraded to a suite with breakfast. The teal suite was lovely, with a four poster bed and stylishly maintained and warm. The breakfast is a little disappointing for vegetarians, but we were there for Christmas dinner with friends which was really very good indeed and great value.
wifi was very good, staff very friendly
food was poor, and foyer, bar, and restaurant area was very dated. room was fine though
bed and bathroom
Such a beautiful and friendly hotel. we stayed in the Truffle Suit and it went above and beyond our expectations. Would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!!
Whats not to like!!
Staff. Double doors in the room
A little out the way
Small room, no toilet roll, room was dirty, bar was expensive will not stay there afain
nice comfy bed, great wi-fi..good size of room for single....
having a shower and the tap feeding the shower has a leak and the floor was swimming....ordered a meal in the bar and was given the restaurant menu portion..the bar restaurant have different menus, you have to pay for extras in the restaurant, whereas the bar is all included...
The comfortable bed
No tea or coffee in the room
No phone in room
Very friendly staff. Convienient location for Widnes and Runcorn.
Outside seemed a little tired.
On arrival to the hotel late, we were greeted by the check in staff, and immediately they attended to our needs, made sure we had everything we needed and due to an error i made in booking, they upgraded my room out of kindness. The food was decent and priced affordable and the breakfast was spot on. Will defo return in the future
I liked the friendly service and the practical information that was given to me. Also greatly appreciated the manager lending me an adapter for my mobile and ipad. The living room and the bed were very comfortable.
Only two minor things: One was a problem with the toilet pump while I was there, but again, information was given on my request, so it was tolerable. The other thing I would have liked to have seen would be a toilet brush or a similar cleaning device for cleaning of the toilet.
Friendly staff and convenient location.
Limited food options on the night due to wedding next day. Broken bed!
B/fasts, Dinner, Restaurant and Bar Staff. Welcome at desk. Help from staff. Clean room, towels, warm, space. Fun of 4 poster bed.
That we are too late to book a restaurant meal on 13th Dec when we next come to visit family on 12th.BOOHOO!
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Room and food were very basic and limited. Broken glass in car park gave a poor impression of safety for car and possessions.
Couldn't find my top room easy enough signage a bit poor!!
Good value basic hotel room.
TV put at 90 degrees to bed, bit awkward to watch in bed. Also, the window seal when closed isn't perfect so the road outside can be heard quite easily.
all good, plain and simple, but no faults
it was a bit cold, but I never asked them to improve that
Quiet, comfy bed, nice towels and bedding
We stayed on a Saturday night with a room facing the back of the hotel. Although there was a gathering in the hotel it was still quiet.
The location was a bit difficult to find even with the GPS in our car.
I'm sure the hotel would be good midweek but really noisy in the weekends. Not much sleep.
COFFEE AND TEA MAKING FACILITIES.
ROOMS URGENTLY NEED UPDATING. COOKING SMELLS IN ROOM SO MUST BE OVER THE KITCHENS.NOT SURE WHY WE HAD THE ROOM WE HAD ON A THURSDAY EVENING, MUST HAVE BEEN NICER ONES TO USE.
Staff were very friendly. Had good nights sleep in very comfy bed. Good location for visiting attractions.
Nice and clean. Reasonably decorated
Just a few small things, like the bed twanged when my sister got off it. The toiletries looked like they had already been used. The waiter forgot our tea and had to be reminded. The food was average. Our stay the night before in a Premier Inn was much better for half the price.
