Just enjoyed my stay there
Everything seemed fine
Close to M Roads and my old home in the UK
The larger was stale and not very cold!
Although we only paid £60, (for a Sunday night) I wasn't particularly impressed. The room was freezing, it had a juliette balcony, the doors wouldnt shut properly and there was a gap at the bottom where wind and rain was coming into the room. It is in serious need of some TLC, it probably was once a very nice hotel, but is now somewhat run down. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest, there was mould on the shower head and the water was barely lukewarm.
Staff were friendly
Easy to find warm welcome
Made to feel welcome, nice bar and restaurant.
Receptionist very friendly upgraded my single room to a double..room very clean stylish and comfortable....an excellent hotel and will definitely stay agsin
I disliked nothing
The bed was good and very clean. The breakfast service was good. The ladies on reception were helpful The night porter was very helpful
The gerneral upkeep of the hotel, there were areas that had not seen a coat of paint in years. The lifts were dirty and the whole place is in need of a lot of TLC. The bathroom was awful, plastic taps and a shower that took forever to get water out of. No facilities for smokers even outside, no cover or ashtrays. I was very disappointed with this hotel which when you go onto the web site looks very good, but is in fact very badly run down. This is not what I expect from a four star hotel. It is not a hotel I will go back to again.
Everything was good except the toilet
The toilet was faulty you had to fiddle with the handle to get it to flush.
Always friendly staff
Had to complain once but was sorted no complains
The friendliness of the staff, especially at breakfast
The revolving door was quite fiddly with luggage, but not really a 'dislike'.
Friendly staff Cleanliness Good bar
Poor WiFi that did not work Room too hot (broken temp controls) Small for an Executive room
Excellent value for money Mostly friendly staff Excellent that the hotel allowed our dog - no issue paying £15 for him to stay Great night staff who let me out for a few minutes in the early hours
Not very welcoming at breakfast - told we had not booked Husband went through the items he desired for his english breakfast and at the end the waitress said it would have been better if you had said what you did not want. No cups, no napkins on the table we were told to sit at
Decent budget hotel
Music from the function room vibrated right through the hotel to top floor and went on till late
We booked into a beautiful suite with a corner bath and four poster bed for a romantic weekend away.
Our room was double booked and we had to wait over 30 minutes to be placed into a new one. No big deal really until we weren't on the breakfast list and the woman insisted she would charge us again for breakfast. I tried to show her that my booking included breakfast and she dismissed me by saying that wouldn't help. Reception thankfully sorted it out for me. And then the icing on top. On the second night of our stay there was a late night disco right underneath our room and apparently this is a regular Saturday night event. Our walls were shaking and there was no chance we could relax or sleep or enjoy ourselves. The response of reception? To say we should have been warned at check-in. Rubbish. The basic contract involved in a hotel stay is a promise of a good night's rest. You can't expect to tell guests once they've travelled for hours to get to your hotel that you're breaking that contract. We were moved to an ordinary room elsewhere in the hotel and our night was ruined. This hotel needs to realise that when you offer a suite with a corner bath and four poster bed, couples might want to spend time in the room. You can't assume couples will be out on the town and not mind the racket going on until 1am.
I made a booking error and had to pay again, but the person working at reception went over and above to keep us happy as we were upgraded to a suite with breakfast. The teal suite was lovely, with a four poster bed and stylishly maintained and warm. The breakfast is a little disappointing for vegetarians, but we were there for Christmas dinner with friends which was really very good indeed and great value.
wifi was very good, staff very friendly
food was poor, and foyer, bar, and restaurant area was very dated. room was fine though
bed and bathroom
Such a beautiful and friendly hotel. we stayed in the Truffle Suit and it went above and beyond our expectations. Would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!!
