The staff were excellent and the hotel was clean. It was good value for money. Generally the food was good. The room was very large and the hotel was very quiet (we stayed on a Tuesday) We chose this because we had a dog but on arrival found that dogs are not allowed in the bar or anywhere other than your room so we had to leave her in the car whilst we had dinner. The bed was not comfortable and the hotel is generally tired although they do appear to be painting (there were wet paint signs up). Booking. com says italian food which it was not. The sausage at breakfast was of poor quality and there were no vegetables with dinner.

The rooms were clean and the price was satisfactory. It was quiet and had wi-fi connection in the rooms. The first room we were shown was exceedingly hot. The thermostat did not work and no one was available to fix it. The second room was better and the thermostat worked. The water pressure was abysmal. The shower dribbled and we had to flush the toilet by filling up the metal waste paper basket from the bath. The whole hotel needs a makeover.

Friendly helpful staff, perfect location for town centre and visiting family and friends. Room was warm and comfortable, albeit a little dated decor wise, but the facilities were all in working order and it was clean. All in all our stay was a pleasant one with no issues.

The food was good but a rather limited selection. The mattress was very bad, One side was in good condition the other was totally collapsed leaving a two tier effect.

Warm and cosy atmosphere. The staff were friendly and the hotel had this privacy feel to it which I liked very much. The pub food was amazing. The best chicken and mushroom pie ever tasted! I would definitely come back.
