The lion hotel is in a excellent location and we have stayed here a number of times because of it. It is comfortable and meets all our needs. Receptionists pleasant and helpful. Room quite tired and worn. Certain areas of the hotel and room are not that clean though bedding is, I dislike the smell especially in the lift and corridors.

1.The bar and surrounding area is nice. 2.The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. 3.Breakfast was good and served in an excellent breakfast room. 4The staff were efficient and friendly. 1The lift sounded like Dr Who landing in the Tardis.

hotel was in the middle of the town which was good to get about the room was small and pokey and at the end of a long corridor, no fridge, compared to where else we have stayed was very disappointing for its price. Breakfast was AWFUL, staff were grumpy and ignored us a lot of the time, food was minimal and basic to say the least, would not recommend this hotel.

It is a well located hotel and easy to find and park up in. The feel is solid and traditional but comfortable and well equipped and not corporate. I liked the deep old style bath and the bedroom was very comfortable. The bar food was very good, coming from the restaurant and there was lots of space to sit and relax in the public areas. It was good value Wi fi did extend to my bedroom although they told me it worked best in the public areas. Overall I would be happy to return and stay longer. They was not much to mention. Overall breakfast was good but I would prefer better coffee with breakfast and some fresh fruit available.

The room was good with a very comfortable bed and all the expected toiletries. An excellent breakfast - in fact the best I have had in a hotel recently. Good parking facilities and in the centre of town. Have booked again for the flower show. I think the reception could be a little more welcoming. I phoned down to reception on several occasions - gave up as nobody answered the phone. Also, stood waiting at reception and ignored - eventually asked "did you want something." Have not experienced that anywhere. However, the restaurant staff were wonderful and round and about.

The history of the place and it's excellent location. Also the handy, though quaint, on-site parking. Nice lounge, good food, reasonable prices. Very creaky floors and lots of up and down stairs to our room even using the lift. Perhaps would not suit the unfit or infirm.

Old world charm at this fine historic coaching inn. A Shrewsbury institution and with very helpful staff - a slight mix-up with our booking led to our being upgraded to Charles Dickens' suite at no extra charge! A memorable experience.. The slightly faded interior and some plumbing could do with some investment and updating, but that's part of the Lion's charm.

Not much The hotel is very tired and the staff I encountered who were few and far between did not give the impression that they cared very much about the customer experience. The young lady serving breakfast was the exception to this. A very lonely and depressing stay.

Comfort, warm, friendly Guests on Saturday night got locked out and made a huge noise before they got let in. Suggest a sign at the front door telling them to go the back, where the Night Porter information is displayed.
