Need attention to detail. The outside lights were out and it was difficult to find the entrance in the pitch black. Fine when I got in and proved to be good value for the money.Clean and reasonable size room. Would use them again. Breakfast adequate but do not like tea stored in a flask. The small detail of fresh tea and coffee in the morning would make a great difference.

Very helpful staff, we had a problem with our room and reported it on our way. The reception staf gave us a new room and had moved all our belonging by the time we came back Excellent service. Also there was a wedding reception on in one of the conference rooms near our room but once we had shot the doors in the corridor and the door to our room we could'nt heard it which it not normally the case expected to be kept away all night but slept great would recommend this hotel. The only thing we did'nt like was the cooked breakfast wasn,t very hot.

It was clean and adequate for my needs Was told there was a 24 hour front desk. No-one there at 0.20am had to call reception on the phone. The person who answered did not announce themselves as reception staff and made it very unclear as to whether I was even in the right place! They did not explain about breakfast - had to ask (they gave me the impression I had asked a stupid question - what happens about breakfast?). Breakfast staff didn't do much better as they told me to take a seat then 3-4 minutes later told me it was all self service! I think there was an assumption that I knew what to do - I must have stayed there before, which of course I haven'T.

The staff where very helpfull the rooms we stayed in where very poor, dirty carpets, wall paper ripped and torn off, dripping taps. Some of the windows where rotten and coming loose and the level of noise from outside made it difficult to sleep. The food for the cost was very substanded.

Needs refurbishment urgently - in our view at the moment deserves no more than two stars. Very tired and uninviting. Decore poor, pealing wallpaper, badly creased net curtains, and poorly hung tired main curtains. No remote control for the TV, onlly one mug for tea or coffee - no spares available in the hotel !! had to make do with a caffe latte glass. Only one chair in the bedroom - two missing. Another chair was found for us, but not matching, it came from the conference centre, as it was the only one available.

Free internet. Room cleaners start at 7.30am and make a lot of noise. £2.00 charge for using a credit card. Wi-Fi did not cover my room. Breakfast coffee is awful.

Lovely decor, welcoming staff - overall once inside it was a great experience and I sure would be better in the summer months, see issues below... Signage to hotel is not lit at night in the dark it is not clear how to exit the hotel car park car park itself is very dark For winter months I would be hesitant to book again as a single female traveller, as nice as the place was.

Great location, easy to get to. Had smoking rooms on ground floor. Good size rooms, clean and had very comfortable beds. Extremely quiet, no noise from main road. Breakfast was a buffet style and had everything you needed. We arrived when it was dark and found the car park very dark and a bit difficult to see where we were walking to reception. Could have done with some lighting.

Efficiency - I had asked for extra pillows in my room at the booking stage and it's not very often that it actually happens. Everyone was polite and efficient.
