Need attention to detail. The outside lights were out and it was difficult to find the entrance in the pitch black. Fine when I got in and proved to be good value for the money.Clean and reasonable size room. Would use them again. Breakfast adequate but do not like tea stored in a flask. The small detail of fresh tea and coffee in the morning would make a great difference.

The staff did not seem well prepared for breakfast time. A little more attention to detail would have gone a long way in the eyes of the guests.

An observation and suggestion; having booked a Double Room for two nights we found ourselves in a room with two single beds. On querying this we were told the manager had tried to contact us to tell us of the change. As the situation was known would suggest that any change of room is mentioned on arrival not left to the guests being left to find out themselves. We were given the option of "the problem room" or a change of room for the second night. Our opinion of the Madison is unchanged "Good "but a little "fine tuning" is needed.

Very poor lighting outside the hotel, hard to see where parking spaces were. Room not clean, bath had hairs in it, carpet not vaccuumed properly and generally dusty. Paid extra for executive room which had free wi-fi but still charged at front desk for it. Room was also supposed to have an iron and ironing board but these were missing. Staff at front desk not friendly at all. I would not recommend this hotel to Swindon travellers unless everywhere else is fully booked. Overpriced and poor quality

Lovely decor, welcoming staff - overall once inside it was a great experience and I sure would be better in the summer months, see issues below... Signage to hotel is not lit at night in the dark it is not clear how to exit the hotel car park car park itself is very dark For winter months I would be hesitant to book again as a single female traveller, as nice as the place was.

Great location, easy to get to. Had smoking rooms on ground floor. Good size rooms, clean and had very comfortable beds. Extremely quiet, no noise from main road. Breakfast was a buffet style and had everything you needed. We arrived when it was dark and found the car park very dark and a bit difficult to see where we were walking to reception. Could have done with some lighting.

The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Hotel staff were pleasant. Despite having the swipe card for access to the room changed, it took numerous attempts to open the door. Although we had a twin room, we were only supplied with one plastic cup for the bathroom and just one packet containing biscuits on the coffee/tea tray. The breakfast was OK but the coffee, which was stored in thermos jug, was barely warm: however when I remarked on this the waitress refilled our cups with hot coffee.

Efficiency - I had asked for extra pillows in my room at the booking stage and it's not very often that it actually happens. Everyone was polite and efficient.

This was my second time in this hotel and therefore I was already aware of the location and facilities. The rooms are quite large and ideal if travelling with children. The location is excellent for shopping and within easy reach of the motorway if travelling towards bristol/bath. Wifi was advertised as free on BOOKING.Com and on my last visit this was free. However this time the staff told me that this was no longer free and the fee was something in the region of £7 per day. Furthermore I was charged £2 because I paid through Credit Card.

Comfortable, good value, convenient. The terrible crush at breakfast as there was an elderly coach party in! The layout of the breakfast buffet wasn't at all helpful. There were conflicting times for Saturday breakfast on the information in the room as opposed to what we were told at reception. There were no instructions as far as we could see for the TV channels or the telephone in the room, although it did say there were in the room information. When I mentioned this in passing as we left, I was told with a shrug 'You could just flip through the channels'. Not everybody is familiar with different sorts of zappers, I'm afraid. I did finally discover BBC Radio 4 by trial and error. It was channel 704. That would have taken me quite a while to find by 'just flipping through'. It didn't really leave me with a good impression of staff service.
