All staff very friendly and helpful despite there being a coach trip booked in there. The gardens were well kept and very nice with lovely view at back. Although motorway very near we couldn't hear it. Would definitely go again. Toilet seat and lid were difficult to separate but not really a problem.

I have stayed at this hotel on two previous occasions as it has been the location for an annual luncheon with former colleagues. The facilities are quite satisfactory for a middle priced hotel. the lunch was excellent and the breakfast acceptable.

The hotel staff were always friendly, helpful, polite & courteous. Breakfast was good, in both quantity and quality. Evening meals in the bar were very good. The hotel is within easy reach of the motorway, but is in a lovely semi-rural or village type of setting, and has a pleasant atmosphere. I would certainly recommend it to friends.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Recently re decorated room, very comfortable. Good checkout time of 12:00. Very reasonable price we had a double room at £45 for a Saturday night. It was a good sized room with plenty of space even with a travel cot in.

Attending a wedding function, liked the multi room arrangement. Lack of dinning facilities after 9pm, no restaurant or room service.

Location was excellent, just off the motorway so easy to find. We were attending a friends wedding, the venue was ideal for what the couple wanted. We were all able to enjoy the day regardless of the weather and then stay overnight with cooked breakfast in the morning.

Convenient location close to motorway but still close to open countryside as well as several large towns. Comfortable old style hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The only thing I found wrong was that I couldn`t get any food during the afternoon.

Convenient and friendly best english breakfast for a long time anywhere Motorway noise can only be minimised by closing all windows making the rooms stuffy bed mattress old and sloppy all looking a bit tired shower curtains are naff, first thing you smell on entering the bedroom is the shower curtain

The friendliest most helpful staff we have ever come across. Lovely building, comfy rooms great value food.....however there is a lot of traffic noise from motorway right outside which would be a problem in summer with windows open. Traffic noise

Pleasant staff, comfy bed and a nice breakfast We couldn't open the window as there was a glass acreen screwed over the window. The room was far too hot and uncomfortable as there was no air and this would probably put us off staying there again unless we could have a room with a window that opened.

Good location. Acceptable food. Helpful staff. I have stayed here over the years, perhaps twenty, and seen many changes. However it is overdue for a refit and would benefit from some professional advice on decor.I Remember as a schoolboy when it was the Golf Club and the colours are pretty much the same! Given the exposed site some kind of porte cochere would be appreciated.

Hotel comfortable and well placed for my business visit which was the reason for staying. Nice atmosphere in bar, and busy enough during my stay. Shower in room was dissapointing as there was not very much water emitted from it. Bar food and restuarant menu, whilst extensive did not appeal very much and I found it difficult to choose something on both evenings of my stay, which I do not normally find a problem.

Upon arrival we were not booked in, although we had booked through the internet. We had arrived in the morning and weren't surprised when the room was not ready. The Receptionist was extremely helpful and said that we could leave our bags and the room would be ready for us when we reappeared mid-afternoon after the Christening we were attending. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the room (No. 4) very clean and just what we wanted. Absolutely no complaints - a very good evening meal which was excellent value.

It was very quiet. Unfortunately I arrived for dinner at 20:30. This seemed to late for the hotel. I ordered a medium steak from the restraunt menu which arrived with everything deep fried. Chips, mushrooms, onion rings, all ozzing with grease. The steak was over cooked I complained and got free cheese and biscuits, but not enjoyable. Reception staff was busy leaning out the window having a smoke. Budget hotel and you get what you pay for.
