Score from 219 reviews Very good
Hotel is rundown, very little has been spent on it on the past 10+ years. Whilst the staff are generally pleasant you get the feeling they are there under duress rather than option. The food was very poor.
Comfort of room adequate
not enough brew kit.
Facilities of swimming pool
Only one pillow not enough towels, no soap or equivalent, no extra bed as requested. They did not have the two rooms ready. Very disappointing
The room was a good size Beds were comfortable No traffic noise
Hotel not easy to find - as it was on the wrong side of a dual carriageway (coming from NEC) and the signage was poor.
Cleanliness Friendly staff Good breakfast
Minor negatives No hairdryer in room Towels not replaced for second night Tea/coffee in short supply
Nice large, airy, comfortable Bedroom that was fresh and clean. Pool Location Free WIFI
Bar area was not atmospheric. The bathroom was tiny and very tired and dated. The bath had enamel coming off and mould was beginning to show around all the sealant. The price was more than the Marriott and Holiday Inn which I would rate as much better hotels. Breakfast was pretty good value but when I asked where to sit etc. the waitress seemed to expect me to know where to go, where everything was and what to do. She did not meet me but spoke to me from 20 yards away! The fire alarm seemed to be tested at 07.20 hrs in the morning. Someone complained that it had gone off at the same time the day before too.
Beautiful looking building Comfortable
Slow service Mistakes made with my room on check-in
Hotel review stated all rooms refurbished. Not my room. Awful basic 1970's bathroom awful. Generated outside room. Awful nights rest for someone who was on business an neded a good nights rest. Shocking. Wen I checked out no one asked me if Sverything was ok. Oh and I orderedroomservice at 6:30 had to chase it at 8:00 and it eventually arrived at 9. They need to review their 'Customer Service'. I might have had a last min deal. But this hotel does not know its customer.
All of our stay
Air con unit was on until 1am and then back on at 4.18am Breakfast was a shambles, supposed to be open from 7am but not ready till 7.15
Location was good. Close to shops and restaurants. The bar was quite nice also.
For the first 3/4 of my 16 day stay, WiFi was only available by getting codes from reception every 24 hours (or when your current code expires). We had to buy my own toilet rolls as after 4 days the cleaning staff stopped leaving any. The 3 times I ordered room service, they didn't have main ingredients and brought the wrong drink every single time. The worst of all, no temperature control for the room and seemingly very little insulation. So it got very hot quite often. And also the bed was extremely uncomfortable and small. We were quite disappointed especially as it was meant to be one of the deluxe kind of rooms.
The staff were friendly.
Where do I start? Briefly. ... The women's changing rooms stank, there was hair in the swimming pool (a lot), charged different prices for drinks depending on who served us, our children were kept awake since gone midnight by music from a party within the hotel, service at breakfast and the breakfast food were poor quality. Popped a complaint in, no answer to it, rang and asked for manager said he would call back and still hasn't.
all aspects of the stay were great. Staff in particular were very helpful and professional.
bathroom was ok but a little dated.
beds very comfortable and rooms warm
party that went on until 12.30 and could be heard clearly in the room. The lack of hot food at breakfast. The piece of metal scourer in the scrambled eggs. The smell of urine in the ladies changing room.
Found it very embarrassing that I had to pay cash at the bar because the tab had not been set up properly
Good location. Easy for surrounding areas.
Very dated , needs work.
Sraff - excellent. Food good.
Beds small, not much choice on dinner menu.
Poor lighting in bedroom One light bulb not workingDining room poorly lit
Room ok, bed comfortable
Bathroom, shower awful - water came out as a trickle, not good enough, water pressure on cold water tap very poor. Unlikely to stay again due to poor quality bathroom.
The entrance is welcoming Room was clean Staff are polite
Phone line didn't work in room Bar is boring and had the news on all night. Main bar was closed but had no sign. When I followed the barman in to get a drink I was told quite abruptly that it was closed. I wasn't to know. I just wanted a pint! The atmosphere is very stale. The hotel was full but the public areas were empty.
Location. Close to my cousins house. Easy access to the motorway (M42) Good size car park.
Nothing not to like really although the room we were in ( 156 ) could do with a makeover. Rather tired
Friendly and clean
Appallingly soft uncomfortable bed; no clean tables for breakfast; wrong order of tea and coffee; stone cold coffee
Gym Pool Room Brekkie Rose and Nicholas and Craig
Bar was a little dull Small range of draught lagers Room cards kept wiping blank
Single bed yet double price Shower head to low and I am only 5ft 8"
When we booked in and left the car staff very helpful and friendly
On arrival we booked in and were told which rooms were ours. The lift was not working and were told we would have to walk up the stairs . Concierge carried the cases up but we were not told how far we would have to walk or when breakfast would be served or times . Had to make own bed as not made properly: sheet on bottom not pulled out .
