With free Wi-Fi, free parking and a fine restaurant, this hotel used to be a country club. It is in quiet, rural Hopwood, 1.5 miles from the M42 and well placed for central Birmingham. Just outside Birmingham, Westmead is a 25-minute drive from the NEC convention center, close to the M40/M5/M6 freeways. Chocolate attraction Cadbury World is a 10-minute drive away. The Westmead Bar and Lounge is open until late for drinks and snacks, with comfy sofas and chairs. All rooms have private bathrooms and super-king beds. Guests of The Westmead Hotel get free access to the local LA Fitness gym (2.3 miles). Hotel Rooms: 56

The Westmead is privately owned and this is reflected in the excellent, flexible and friendly service we received throughout. Staff couldnt have been more eager to make our stay absolutely perfect. (We asked for extra tea bags and coffee and were brought a tray of tea and coffee made for us, at no cost). Room 29 is large and very well appointed with a huge bed! Rooms are well sound-proofed and the location is semi-rural yet close to the M42, so convenient for Motorways or shopping (e.g. in Solihull). Wedding meal and the evening buffet was great. Highly recommended!

Staff were profesional and efficient from the outset, we ate in the bar and the food was really nice and good value for money. Our room was clean and modern with a really nice bathroom. All in all an excellent hotel at the right price.

From the momment we arrived the staff could not do enough to make our stay that little more special. Although they were very busy with over 300 people having there xmas parties, the staff re opened the restaraunt just for us. They were all very busy but you would not no this by the excellent service we recieved. The manager served us in the restaraunt & the head chef found time not only to cook us a fantastic meal but came to see us to make sure we had enjoyed his food. We cant recommend this hotel high enough after our stay, we can only say that we will be returning in the very neer future.

Friendly staff, comfortable well priced accommodation and breakfast was excellent! Chipped mugs and ill fitting curtains Would be helful if the many emergeny doors could be accessed by door pass so the door nearest to where the car is parked could be used for luggage purposes

Made extremely welcome. The room heating was fine, but the bathroom relied upon the room heater. It should have had a heater or heated towel rail of it's own.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Westmead in the last twelve months. On the previous occasion we were very satisfied with our stay. This time the hotel excelled. Our room had been upgraded before we arrived and the staff were very welcoming and a request for extra milk and coffee in our room was dealt with very quickly. I would really recommend this hotel for a stay in the south Midlands as it is easily accessible from the motorways but is outside of the city environment.

Easy to book when requested twin beds very helpful operator rang hotel and arranged it. Hotel spacious clean but lots of steps to get to rooms but worth it when got there. I would recommend it and stay again if in the area. Drinks seemed very expensive, but did not spoil my stay.

Most of the staff were efficient and friendly. On my last night 28th Oct the bar and restaurant service was abominable, young man behind bar did not appear to know what he was doing and was trying to do too many jobs and kept customers waiting and the ? manager Simon appeared to be of no assistance.Guests and I waited an unacceptable time for both drink and food service .Coffee was awful slopped in saucer and ice cold milk served with it instead of hot and frothy as requested. Maid omitted to top up tea bags and receptionist kindly gave me staff supply. Also did not top up loo rolls each day.

The bed was incredibly comfortable - better than my own at home, I slept very well, and the room was warm and quiet. I liked the late check out time of midday, which was excellent after such a late night at the wedding reception. The bathroom was nice and clean and the shower powerful - both things I appreciate. The receptionist was helpful and friendly. Easy to find from the M42. We thought the cooked breakfast was pretty bad. My son and I left most of it. The bacon was rubbery, the baked beans were horrible, and even the toast seemed more like warmed soft bread than toast. The drinks were very expensive! When we ate our evening meal at the wedding reception, rather than having one member of staff pop out from time to time to check if we were finished each course, about 6 waiters / waitresses stood just inside the room watching us eat. That was a bit off-putting.

Nothing. I didn't like the fact that no one told me there was a function on possibly a wedding and that it would therefore be very noisy.I Ended up leaving the hotel at 11.15pm to look for quieter accommodation.

As wedding guests it was the perfect venue . the rooms were spacious and clean and comfortable, nothing was too much trouble for staff. My only criticism would be that being in a wheelchair we were in a ground floor room which was ideal however to get to the wedding banquet had to go out through the fire door and enter the hotel via reception due to there being steps from our room.
