The stay was average and it seemed that the reception staff was managing several roles. We ordered room service, which included 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks and took over 40 mintues to arrive. The bed needed replacing and the bathroom shower only provided a jet and there were limited toiletries.

We chose the Ramada Cromwell Stevenage as it was conveniently located to friends we were visiting - 3 minutes walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ramada Cromwell is a very basic hotel and although it looks fairly reasonable from the outside, sadly the interior is very shabby and tired-looking. The bed was not very comfortable and the room was unbearably hot. Even turning the radiator down to its lowest setting didn't cool the room and we could only open one window. The chest of drawers had lost all its handles and the only way to open the drawer was to hook our fingernails under the remains of the decorative handle holder. Breakfast was basic but they didn't provide any gluten-free cereals or bread. Thankfully I had taken my own which they allowed me to eat.

Good location. The staff were attentive as we had to change rooms because it hadn't been cleaned. The hotel was dirty. We were kindly upgraded to a nicer room having been put in a dirty one at the start but the replacement one was dirty too. We were in a hurry to go out and embarrassed to mention anything more about cleanliness but in truth it didn't warrant 60 pounds at all.

The hotel was well sited for my business trip and was on the High Street which had plenty ofopportunity for restaurants. The staff were friendly and attentive. The room was a little tied with the bathroom having loose floor tiles and liberal use ofthe sealant gun.

Staff were very polite and helpful No evening meals available. The bar had very few selections of draught beers. We've stayed several times in recent years and have to say "The Cromwell" is looking very tired

The position is close to good ammenities There was a wedding at the time going on (Tues evening) which I was given the room right about the reception venue. I rang to reception (and after around 10 minutes of ringing) explained the music was very loud, only to be met with 'Yes you are in the room right above. It will be ending at 11pm' I was there for a business meeting early the next day, and wasnt offered any apology or even a room change. The next day the man at reception didnt even ask how my stay was, or indeed be very warm or customer friendly.

Close proximity to the venue for a function we were attending. There was a problem with double-booking of our room for the first night and we were re-located to a Novotel. We were however able to spend the night of the function in the Cromwell and the staff went out of there way to make up for the inconvenience caused.

Very professional staff, very comfortable bed, strong wireless signal, unbeatable price, tesco express and boots across the street 50m, many dinner options available close by. Small bathroom, needed a new shower head, nothing serious.

I don't make a habit of writing reviews unless I am particularly impressed or unimpressed. Sadly, I was not impressed at all with the ramada cromwell. I had emailed a month in advance for a room suitable for my walking disabilities, which I had a reply to say they could accommodate me and that the restaurant etc would be open. On the day we had travelled over 150 miles and when we got there no such room was available because the cleaners had not bothered to clean all the rooms. The receptionist sent me miles around the hotel, up and downstairs 3 times to different rooms, which were so far from the main hotel area they exhausted me. I had to sit in the bar while my husband looked at the 3rd room. Along with no cleaners, there were no kitchen Staff, chefs at all to make food and it appeared that there were literally only 2 members of staff left to run the whole hotel. Neadless to say we left without staying. Shocking I have complained to Ramada and this [as far as I know] is being dealt with

Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and had everything I needed. I didn't use the bar or facilities as I was meeting other people locally, the hotel is ideally situated in the old town for the shops, pubs and restaurants. This is an older building compared to say a Premier Inn but it was cheaper and the value for money is a little better, the hot tap didn't work well in my room but I was able to shower, wash and shave ok.

Reception staff were very friendly and helpful at both ends of the stay. Room very comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Great stay.I Would recomend staying at Ramada Cromwell Stevenage. Had breakfast, full English which was rather disappointing it had obviously been kept warm for quite a while except for the egg which was freshly cooked. Given the price of the breakfast this was somewhat surprising. So much so that if I stayed there again I would not have full English breakfast.

The spacious room and bathroom and its cleanlines. The polite manner of the breakfast waiter. The rear entrance to the car park from the bedroom was convenient but the window fastener was rather old and awkward, and the net curtain could have been cleaner. I should imagine the single glazed window would be draughty in Winter.

“The overall standard was excellent and the rooms clean, tidy and spacious. What really made the experience worthwhile was the staff especially Carol who served us at breakfast. She was warm, friendly and had a laugh and joke with all the customers I saw her interact with. She made everyone feel welcome and its evident she loves her job. Please pass these comments on to her.
