Nice hotel with an English touch. At high street, many restaurants close to the hotel. Free parking.

Too hot in the bedroom. Radiators were on full blast when we arrived and the window only opened slightly. Was very uncomfortable sleeping in such heat when it was such a comfortable bed

Professional staff. Rooms recently refurbished.

Noise from nightclub opposite until gone 3am. No hot water in the morning (apparently a fault). Breakfast held in function room sharing tables of 10. Plates cold and food luke warm. Very haphazard. Awaiting a courtesy call from Manager who was absent.

Staff were good and polite. Breakfast was good and catered for all tastes, i.e. Cereal, fruit juice, cooked breakfast and pastries.

Being above the disco, but all credit to the staff, at midnight the music went off. Only scrambled eggs at breakfast a fried egg would have been nice.

Very good value for money. Comfortable, clean room. Perfect location for my visit.

the great booking some weeks back, great offer, good pictures of the hotel, lovely staff on the telephone, wonderful idea to be called a few days before our stay, being advised there is a wedding on, if we are not part of the wedding party, our room will be moved, so it will be quiet, thank you. Lovely rooms, very clean. Asked for another duvet, towels and that was sorted immediately. Great Value, thank you.

Bit of a grumpy man on reception, needs to smile, be warmer, more of a friendlier welcome. Firmer beds please Clean the window ledges fresh milk in the room.

not clean ,cobwebs in corners .no t-spoon,all tea,coffe,suguar all in a tin.duct tape on carpet where bathroom was.

Staff quite friendly and room comfortable.

Room, particularly the bath could have been cleaner (hair left in bottom of bath) and shower not working properly despite reporting the problem during our stay. Breakfast 2nd morning following a wedding the day before was poor.

Carpet very poor - marked/stained. Bath chipped - health hazard. Bed was very uncomfortable. Unable to turn radiator off. Taps in the bath very difficult to turn. Breakfast was a shambles - no table available, not cleaned from previous residents, orders incorrect.

The staff were helpful and informative. As it has just started being refurbished after a takeover then you have to live with the fact the carpets etc will be changed. All in all an excellent value for money the night I stayed there along with a bar and if you don't want to eat in you just have to walk outside the entrance for a host of restaurants. Free parking and full English too.

Nothing really. The signs say it has been taken over and starting a refurbishment. If you can live with that, then you have no problems.

I arrived early having flown in from Canada. The receptionist smoothly dealt with any difficulties this created and quickly found a room. The location is good, in the old town and about 15 mins walk from train station. The room was good size and I understand the furnishings are being upgraded by the new owners.

The was a party on the Saturday night and the loud music blared until 00.40. In my experience, most places cut the music at midnight.

Bar wasn't staffed, had to constantly go to reception to get service. Bar had no proper beer, just keg fizz.
