we were able to check in earlier than were allowed to, this helped us for the purpose of our visit. We stayed in room 122, although very comfortable, it is needing a bit of TLC! |

Room location. window was next to staff rest / smoking and parking area. Every morning we were awoken around 5.00am by staff arriving for work. Also there was a wedding show on at the hotel on the Sunday an the conference room was just down the corridor from room 141 where we were staying. The other rooms in our corridor were used as storage and changing rooms for the fashion show therefore we were unable to use the room on the Sunday mid morning till around 6pm because of noise from the PA system and from people running up and down the corridor changing and collecting items. |

The hotel is always clean. The staff are very helpful and the service is excellent. I believe my room was above a DJ box at a wedding very loud and hard to sleep until after 12.00pm |

Ok for business, close to industrial park. Hotel pub is fine. Hotel has some history, which gives it some character. Room decoration is oldish, bathroom pathetic. Attention at the desk on arrival not impressing. |

Asked for a smoking room. Booked at least a month in advance, but didn't get a smoking room. When I enquired I was advised you only have 2 smoking rooms, but not why I didn't get one of them! |

Closeness to good restaurants in Stevenage especially indian curry room plumbing needs serious attention, shower dripped constantly wasting water and causing irrittating noise. sink didnt empty as trap must have been blocked. geenral damage to ceiling caused by previous leaks and spills. I reported these faults to reception. |

Convienient location, it was value for money, the staff were friendly and the rooms was clean. The bed was incredibly soft and offered no support whatsoever. With two people sharing a double bed the roll together effect meant every movement woke one or both of us leading to a sleepless night. |

It is a very pleasant, relaxed hotel. Excellent staff. Central position.Good parking. The room I stayed in (113) could perhaps do with a bit of an up datebut then I could have chosen a superior room so my fault I guess! |

Me and my mate stayed here for one night. Could check in early and leave bags in luggage storage. Bags were taken later into our room. Twin room was big, nice and tidy. Bath room the same. Big LCD TV in the room. Bed quite comfortable. There was only one big towel in the shower (and two small ones). Didn't go for breakfeast here, because it's quite pricy and served only until 10am. |

Convenient location. Nice frontage. Was probably lovely once upon a time but now very tired...needs upgrading/updating and investment. Dripping taps, broken widow locks, mouldy bathroom. Single glazing with loads of road noise. |

Staff at this hotel were very courtious and helpful. The location in Stevenage old town was good. The full english breakfast was very good, if a little pricey at £10 per person. Whilst I appreciate this building is an old building, I do have to say that the rooms in the older section of the hotel are in dire need of updating ( shower more like a fast and powerful tap than a shower, wallpaper edges peeling off ceiling and walls etc) the room decor was dowdy and dark in what was an already dark room. A new stle flat screen tv was in the room but it was positioned on a fixed bracket on a wall which faced the mirror opposite and not the bed, so the person in bed on the furthest away side was certainly not able to watch the tv due to the angle of the picture!!!. The tv was also positioned so that someone in height of 5'4" ( which I am) had to remember to tilt their body as they went past or bash their head on it ( health & safety risk ). With this in mind if I were to book at this hotel again I would only stay if I could have a room located in the more modern hotel extension bedrooms. |

Its location to the office I visit which is the reason I use it Its run down, room bathrooms especially bad. The hotel needs money spending on it. Breakfast includes tinned Fruit for heaven's sake . This is 2009 not 1989. |

The room was large and airy and very comfortable. The hotel is well located and has free car-parking. There were no problems with noise from other guests nor from the general public moving around outside at night, despite there being several bars nearby. The room we were originally allocated had not been cleaned before our arrival, and so we had to wait another 10 minutes before being allocated another room which had been cleaned. |
