Rooms need decorating , poor cleanliness , not ideal for families
Staff were friendly and bed rooms were a good size. Location was excellent right on the seafront.
The location could not have been better.
1: There was no remote in the room. 2: The light over the wash hand basin was not working. 3: There was no hot water in the shower. 4: It was not ensuite. 5: The young lady serving breakfast was very nice but did not speak English 6: I did not get what I ordered and the tea was cold.
Hotel was ideally placed for the esplanade. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Very friendly and helpful staff! The room was clean and tidy enough.
Some of the furniture was falling apart, just unloved rather than grotty, just a bit shabby in places.
Good location near the seafront, and shops :) Not a bad sized room, bathroom and shower
The room was downstairs and cold with no extra blankets, the cover was a thin summer one, there was little wi-fi,and the bed was only middle range in comfort.. And when we got there it was a cold day and the Windows were wide open...Also we only had breakfast for one of our two days there, and that was cold
convenient location. good price. friendly staff.
Location of accommodation comfy relaxed. Friendly staff
Room cold on arrival.
Location and view from the room
The place was dirty and falling apart, the tv didn't work and no help from the management on that. The breakfast was undercooked and the tables were sticky. For a £135 i would have expected more. premium price for a below budget hotel
Very nice staff
No dedicated car parking.
Reasonable price, sea view from bedroom, comfortable room with bath - ideal for a relaxing short break after a tough but successful week of interviews! The staff were friendly and helpful.
Only one coat-hanger in wardrobe, though the staff said that they could provide others. At breakfast on the first day there was only white toast as the brown bread had already run out.The WiFi code was not displayed in the room so I had to request it - the receptionist said she didn't know if there was WiFi in the bedrooms, though it worked well.
The view to the pier.
It was a bad matrasse.
Even my friend who lives in Brighton though we had a great location as it is close to all neccesaties. For how populated the area was the noise very minimal. The beds where comfy beds with plenty of room. The breakfast was lovely but I wish it was on for longer, no one should have to wake up at 8am when on holiday. The staff where lovely and helped whenever we needed it. Due to the room being cold we asked for a heater and he did so streight away.
Not very clean, we found legal highs and dirty wrappers. The room was cold with rattling windows. The toilet role was awful and in bad supply. The tap was so stiff we had to ask my boyfriend to turn them off for us. Felt awkward when staff kept knocking on our door every morning to ask if we needed anymore soap and tea.
only thing that was ok was the guy on reception
Poor hygiene dirty room shower dreadful
The receptionists were very helpful and gave information about places to visit, were helpful with the luggage. The position of the hotel was great, near to the Pier, lots of shops and restaurants. The heater kept the room warm in the cold weather.
The noisy neighbours in the room above. There was a smell coming from the shower/toilet room, late in the evening. The communal door which keeps banging when left to close by people. Needs a stopper/wedge to stop it banging. You have to pay for parking all day until 8 pm.
no working shower in bedroom, share bathroom shower has no hot water
The Staff and the position of the hotel is great
My sister and her family stayed at The Thistle and for a few pounds more had a wonderful room
The location was brilliant ! Right beside the pier ! Reception staff were plesent too beds where so comfortable :) and coming home late drunk you could raid the kitchen ;) just saying !!
The Cleaners must pretend to clean or not pull out bedroom items ! My phone fell at the side of the bed and someone's socks where left behind along with used tea bags ! They spray air freshners .. That's all to look busy ! Also at 3am the neighbours couldn't get in to their room and booted there door for about 20 minutes waking the whole building !!
Location is brilliant, had a sea view room and breakfast for a fantastic price.
Newly refurbished hotel in good location. Friendly reception. Large room with view of pier. Full English breakfast in pleasant surroundings. Extraordinary value.
Curtain across bay window needs attention.
You need varieties drinkd !!!!
Great location, very short walk to the lanes and restaurants. Owner was very welcoming, and happy to help with all our needs. Room was basic but didn't need anything else that a bed after the end of each day.
I think the waitresses and cleaning staff could be a little more welcoming, I'm sure they meet a good few people week in, week out but just saying hello and smiling doesn't cost nothing! Other than that they did the job - no issues with that and I would stay again, so don't let that put you off.
The cleanliness of the room.felt like we were staying in a cellar.
Friendly and efficient reception staff. Our bags were allowed to be left at the hotel for a few hours after we had checked out
The beds/mattresses could do with being changed. Very hard and felt like laying on springs.
Loved the view from our room straight across to the sea and pier x
Stairs to top floor lol x
