The place is very good. Private Farm & Large!
breakfast is good. but the dinner is expensive & not tasty,
I thought it was billed as a quaint b&b. Reality it that it is a purpose built conference centre with cafetaria styled restaurant - it was generally more like an up-market hostel. Not a fan generally of this kind of place - if you like this kind of thing, go for it- it was good from that point of view
Beautiful estate grounds. The room was excellent for us and our two children
The staff are the stars!
Excellent conference centre type atmosphere but not really a hotel except for the prices
What's not to like?! I did add another night here~~~LOL
This is definitely a gorgeous place to stay in, especially for family and group of friends.
If you don't have a car (like me), it will be a little difficult to get in and out...(I had to take cab....TAT
Lovely stay in outstanding grounds. The estate is huge and beautiful. All facilities are excellent
It is best to check with reception before booking if you need disabled facilities as it is all on a steep slope. Facilities are good, but if you have walking difficulties without wheelchair or buggy, the access to reception is difficult with no handrail to the sloping path.
The location and food were great. The private dining at Dormy House was excellent
It was too far to walk from the B & B to Dormy House. The security guys gave us a lift which was really kind.
Staff were well trained and polite. Estate looks beautiful and well kept. We had a small problem with a noisy radiator in the room but were swapped to another room without any problem with in minutes of mentioning it. breakfast was wonderful. Rooms very clean.
The setting of the estate is picturesque and the buildings are all in excellent condition. The area also feels very secure with there being no problem leaving the vehicles overnight.
I thought that the estate lacked a centre and the rooms had disappointing views. The bar and restaurant seemed modern and clinical as did the room, overall the experience was a little disappointing. I was also so far from Broadway with no real way to reach the village by foot.
We stayed in a family suite so the room looks better than the pictures for the double ones. Broadway is absolutely beautiful and this estate is built along the hillside so you can enjoy the scenes well. Breakfast is good, surrounding very peaceful and close to the broadway tower.
Couldn't get a room with hillside view since we booked a family suite which has no such view for all ( according to the front desk).
Location was lovely Facilities were clean , nice bathroom breakfast was nice I did a cake decorating course run by an outside company which was top class
Dinner in the evening was not good we waited 25 mins to be served & food was poor quality & very overpriced for what it was . I think the rooms are a bit over priced as well ours was not that big & we could hear everything in the next room .
The views Comfortable beds Very responsive staff
Room rates were far too high for the standard of the rooms. We booked a "superior twin", costing £120 per night (room only), which was very small (there was barely space to walk round the beds) and had nothing "superior" about it except the view. We also booked a "small double" for £75 which was north facing and very cold, though the staff provided a heater straight away when we asked. At checkout, we were asked if we had enjoyed our stay, and replied that it had been OK but definitely not worth the money we had been charged. The manager on the Reception desk immediately refunded the cost of the cheaper room, which we very much appreciated. Another thing which could have been improved was that there was no information in the room about how to access the Wifi or how to call Reception via the internal phone. Also the restaurant had a very unpleasant smell - like old fashioned school dinners! We couldn't bring ourselves to eat there, and couldn't get a table in Broadway on a Saturday night at short notice, so ended up having to drive all the way to Evesham to eat.
The most beautiful setting I think we've ever stayed at, fantastic service with a smile and would not hesitate to advise someone to stay! Can't wait to go back hopefully for a longer stay!
It's a very nice place to stay , clean and comfortable , nice breakfast as well . What a nice view!
Very pretty location with glorious views
The pictures on booking.com do not correspond with what you get. We actually ended up with a motel style accommodation which was not very private at all. The room itself was clean but I could only describe this a being a hospital room. It was extremely stark and clinical from the White bathroom and shower curtain to the cheep feeling furniture. The shower itself was broken and caused me to injure myself! The room was also some distance from the main building and was only accessible via steep steps which is not good for elderly or disabled guests or when it was raining as it did for us.
We chose Farncombe Estates because we got a great deal on the price through booking.com, and it had received good reviews. The facility was fancier than we expected, and we were pleased overall. We stayed in Foxhill Manor, the bed and breakfast part of the facility. The facility is huge, with a hotel, cottages and a conference center, situated in a park like setting with many trees, and fields with roaming sheep. It took about five minutes to drive the hilly winding driveways from the road to the reception building. The beds were very comfortable, and although the rooms were small by American standards, they were well appointed. We stayed in a premium room with a king size bed, and it was the most comfortable bed we slept in during our two weeks in England. There was plenty of hot water, and the towels were big and soft. The fixings for tea, coffee, and hot chocolate were available in the room, as well as some cookies. There was also free wi-fi. The breakfast was in another building than the bedrooms, but it was a very short walk away. Breakfast was fairly extensive, with eggs, porridge, bacon, 3 types of sausages, baked beans, yogurt, rolls and pasties, fresh fruit, and a variety of cold cereals, as well as juice, coffee and teas.
While the seclusion of the lodging on the huge estate made for a quiet location, it added to the drive to attractions. Also, it was dark and a little hard to get to reception our first night when we arrived late at night. We had asked when we made the reservation that our two rooms be close together. This was not done, and staff had to make changes that took awhile to arrange after we arrived.
The location was excellent and provided a great base for us to explore the Cotswold villages. The staff were so friendly and professional at all times. The food was beautiful......we particularly enjoyed the buffet breakfast. We were also very impressed with the evening meal, very tasty!!! The rooms were so clean and modern and so quiet!!! Overall extremely impressed!!!
grounds and accomodation
I liked everything
Lots of space and a feeling of peace and a long way from busy places. The food was excellent
Unfortunately the shower did not work and there were towels for one person , not two persons.
This is situated in the most beautiful countryside on the side of the valley. Twin room was clean and the room of a reasonable size. I do not usually like buffet breakfast but here it was was of a very reasonable standard. It suited our one night stay and showed my Canadian Family a superb part of the Cotswolds.
Double room was very very small not suitable for two people. Having said that, this is a conference centre and I suspect that the rooms will have mainly single occupancy. It was a struggle for my Brother in law to get a suitable sized room. Beware the rooms are in Houses all over the site and the walks up and down the valley to get to the restaurant will not suit everyone.
The view! Cleanliness! Comfort! Food! Value for money! Parking! Quiteness!
Couldn't stay longer!
Lovely rooms and location.
95 steps down to reception from our room.
Location and setting.
Could hear noise from other rooms and doors banging
Loved location, superior room lovely size and excellent , very clean, staff were very friendly & helpful.
