Excellent room and nice bathroom
The room was a little dark even with all the lights on
Friendly welcome with no hassle although it was only for one night. Good breakfast in the morning to set us up for the rest of our day.
Independent hotel with a lot of attention paid to guests….
Loved the room and restaurant had a great menu, i had salmon en croute which was the best meal I had had all week!
No-one offered to carry my suitcase upstairs :(
The location is right at the top of the high street and with direct routes to the other beautiful cotswold towns. The rooms have been updated and are really light in decor.
Only a very slight negative but I feel the reception and bar area is now looking a little shabby.
The food at the Cotswold Gateway Hotel is first rate. Both the Full English breakfast buffet and evening meals were delicious and made from high quality meat and produce excellently prepare. The entire hotel was charming and well appointed. The staff provided friendly helpful service. The location was convenient to visit the Cotswold villages and beyond. The en suite room was large, comfortable and clean with amenities of tea service, hair dryer and the like. I highly recommend it and would gladly make a return visit.
My friend and I stayed here as we were at the Big Feastival for the weekend. The hotel was characterful with clean, well-kept rooms. It was perfectly situated for our needs and easy to find along the main road. The staff and other guests were warm, friendly and very accommodating. The meals were excellent and good value for money. We'd definitely stay here again!
Excellent steak in restaurant, best we'd ever eaten.
All of it very enjoyable stay
I have never come across a more friendly and efficient place. So refreshing to see smiles instead of the dead pan face of miserable looking staff. Julia & Andrew were extremely helpful in sorting out taxis and explaining the local things
Good sized family room. Good breakfast. Very clean bathroom.
Staff was a bit 'matter of fact'.
Very friendly staff. Upgraded to a four poster bed. Good breakfast and evening meal. Excellent position for exploring Burford. Large room.
Hotel was a little bit dated/'tired' in some areas.
just what i wanted. room was excellent, lovely evening meal where i was treated very well. good breakfast with courteous service. several little things made my stay perfect.
Our stay was made very enjoyable by the hotels location close to all Buford and surrounding area has to offer .Pleasant and helpful staff good food all also helped. The hotel also has ample on site parking.
The staff were lovely. The food was superb. The atmosphere was great and we had a fun evening in the bar with the owners, staff and customers
The room was a little small and the TV didn't work. However, the owner was extremely apologetic about the TV and for what we were there for, it didn't really matter
Large room and hot shower. Room was well decorated.
Some road noise when window open.
Clean, bright room. Great breakfast
Bed was very short. At 6ft 4, I found the beds to be shorter than usual. Also the shower heads were very low, with no ability to make them any higher
The Cotswold Gateway Hotel is in an excellent location to visit the Cotswolds for a few days leisure break. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to provide advice on where to visit and recommend places of interest.
There is not much not to like here and caters for most tastes of a leisure break hotel.
Friendly staff, lovely clean room, really good quality food.Would definately choose to stay here again even though we have stayed at a higher star rated hotel in burford within the last couple of months!
Excellent staff service. Clean. Very good breakfast.
The weather was very hot and there is no air conditioning in this hotel. We were able to open the bedroom window, but it would be a good idea to supply each room with a small fan. Otherwise a very nice room and location. I would stay there again.
The staff were very helpful, and polite.pleasant surroundings. We would stop again. Xxx
Food was good Bar was well organized Breakfast was well organised
Traffic noise in the middle of the night Some of the bathroom fittings looked a bit tired...!
Can't think of anything
Noisy location. Bad soundproofing between rooms.
Brilliant size of room for family, staff friendly and helpful and location was central to our needs.
We liked everything - happy guests
