Rooms a bit small and hot
Friendly and helpful staff, good food, comfortable bed, free parking, pretty gardens, good location, all very enjoyable.
Was a little disappointed by the small size of the pool, not big enough to swim in. Poor headroom in shower, had to bend down to be able to wash hair. However, neither of these were a real problem.
The staff were warm and courteous. The room was very comfortable and the bed was fantastic. The full English breakfast was good. The location was excellent and the hotel was lovely.
Amazing junior suite with the best bath we have ever been in!
Spa times inconvenient
We stayed in one of the cottage rooms. The room was very confortable and spacious. We didn't use the Spa facilities nor the dining or grill restaurants but the breakfast was nice with plenty to chose from. The hotel is situated in the middle of a beautiful picturesque Cotswolds village. We had a very relaxing stay.
Nothing to dislike
Rooms, breakfast, staff, location,
Pricing structure (or lack of it) seems to smack a little bit of ' what we can get away with' baiting and switching goes on.
The room was a good size, it was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The village itself is lovely and the breakfast was also very nice. It's a nice hotel but possibly overpriced.
The lobby area looks a little shabby and the staff serving breakfast seemed very inexperienced. They were slow and didn't seem to cope well with a full breakfast room.
We thought the hotel was stunning. We enjoyed the spa facilities but do book the treatments well in advance if you can as it was very busy when we went. A central location with beautiful gardens and easy parking. The breakfast was delicious, we did not eat in the hotel. The room was nicely proportioned and the bed very comfortable (quite unusual too, we will be talking about the complicated spring system for a while to come!) There were nice touches, real coffee-making facility in the room with handmade chocolate chip cookies, and a fridge with water, orange juice and milk - we were not charged extra for consumption of these drinks. The bathroom was large and suited our use - the shower did not work properly but this did not affect our stay - we didn't even mention it until the end.
The service was great & the hotel was very clean. The gardens are beautiful.
The spa needs updating & the treatments weren't great value for money.
Junior suite is beautiful;probably one of the nicest, most luxurious bathrooms my wife and I have ever seen.
One of the coldest reception staff we have experienced. She really couldn't be bothered with her guests or their questions. Dining room staff was friendly and eager, but rank amateurs learning on the job.
pool, air con, staff, breakfast, room facilities,
not dislike but-- clock in pool area, if a resident at hotel maybe suggest that you book for dinner in grill as can get busy with non-residents making booking's.
Stayed at the cotswold house about 5 times now and everything about it is fantastic ,the hotel location ,we ate on the secod night at the kings and the food and service are superb
Everything from the moment that we entered, superb and will definetly be back.
Spacious room, comfortable bed. Good car parking. Good curry at Noel Arms opposite!
No dinner available in Dining Room on Sunday evening, only in Grill. This was not made clear prior to booking or arrival.
Stayed in a garden suite. Beautiful room and bathroom. Private patio. Lovely fireplace. Great room.
Ordered champagne to be in room on arrival. It wasn't. Then when it turned up it wasn't chilled and they didn't have any chilled. Also tried to order a taxi for that evening but when called back to check they had no record of our request. The staff were all really helpful but slightly disorganised on what seemed like a reasonably quiet day.
I love this hotel. Second time round for us, 10 years on & again we stayed in Junior Suite 11, I highly recommend this room for a special occasion & a bath made for 2 (or possibly 5 if the fancy takes!) Dinner was delicious, the rump steak on the Cotswold Grill menu was the best steak we've ever had. Breakfast also delicious. Breakfast staff were a little tired possibly, but the Ops Manager who served us at dinner & chatted to us at breakfast is a credit to the hotel. I needed to stall us leaving as I had arranged a surprise party for my partner back at home & the reception staff kindly let us have a later check out as a gift....thankyou so much!
Lack of music centre/dock station in the room, last time they had a great Bang & Olfsen system in the room. No radio channels on tv that we could find. (We like our music!) Feature lights in bathroom need some tlc. Otherwise fabulous
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the room was at an immaculate standard of cleanliness and comfort.
The tv in the bathroom did not work and neither did the fireplace. The hot tub was also set at a temperature too low to sit in for a long time.
Lovely big bed and bedding. Lovely massage in the spa.
The food in the Grill was too much for me although it was all very nice. We were there on a Sunday and Monday so the restaurant was closed which was a pity. We would have liked a proper pool rather than a hydrotherapy pool.
Central location for a visit to the Cotswolds
room and spa but mostly location!
Service was very slow
Very relaxed and rooms were spotless
Location ambience interior design etc
The staff were friendly and efficient. The Hotel is well placed and attractive and the free room upgrade was very welcome.
the lack of a nice bar to enjoy a nightcap was unfortunate. The breakfast was well cooked and tasty but half a mushroom each was a little mean.
having spa facilities so close
not enough comfortable chairs to lounge in within the hotel. when looking forward to relaxing in the spa finding out the Jacuzzi was not working
