Top location, lovely views across the water from our room
Breakfast was below average. I had to ask staff twice for our hot drinks, when they finally arrived the tea was stewed. The staff didn't seem to care and made no attempt to wait on tables. I couldn't see any organisation of staff at breakfast, my thought was that there wasn't enough staff to cover all tables.
Food very good - both dinner and breakfast. View over the lake from the dinning room is very pleasant Used the pool facilities Sunday morning before breakfast and not too busy.
Standard double broom no better than Premier Inn. Mattress very poor - felt every spring. Old &poor quality TV.
very friendly approach from all the staff and very welcoming
our room was a little dark for reading, lighting was a little to low to read by.
Location of our room, overlooking lake. Staff at Reception, breakfast and spa very friendly and helpful
Leisure facilities Inconsistencies of rooms - ours excellent, three others far less so - all at the same rate though.
Stayed for a long weekend with my boyfriend, really nice loactation and beautiful view of the lake from our room. Spa was great must recommend to get a Rasul Ritual very fun and relaxing. We did not eat in the Hotel, we went to the Steak night in The Old Boathouse (which is every Friday), Amazing bit of steak and lovely staff.
At breakfast we had to ask staff few times for tea and Coffee, staff was abit slow but i did understand that it was busy. It should be Help yourself to tea and coffee in the morning just like the rest of the breakfast, but apart from that great selection of food and very nice.
The staff were excellent as was the room and bathroom, the swimming pool and spa were great and relaxing.
Only thing was the paint and carpets are a bit worn.
I was greeted by very helpful receptionist who took special care to see me to my room. All staff very professional and friendly, even when really busy. Facilities in the pool and gym were first class.
Take care on the decking in wet weather. There are warning signs.
The location and service was all good.
We paid for an enhanced package such as welcome packs, gowns etc... none of this was in the room. We called reception after an long time the welcome pack came, the robes and what not never did. very disappointed as it'd been paid for.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good facilities, although the pool wasn't quite as warm as I thought a hydrotherapy pool might be!
I think the food was a bit overpriced for its quality in the main hotel
Nice quiet area with lots of interesting facilities close by
Nothing but if I have to be picky no having a lake view but I expect you pay extra
Staff unfriendly and "stand offish"
Lake location my room had a lake view excellent.
the location is beautiful, extremely friendly helpful and professional staff, restaurant service was outstanding and the food was amazing,
closer inspection on our room proved very disheartening, windows were grubby, mirrors had streaks, stains on carpets and chairs, quite big, Marks on walls, even on ceiling!, bathroom was ok but extractor fan was very poor. Shocked as we paid £170 + a night for room and to be honest I've stayed in travel lodges that have higher cleaning standards. will all the said I'm hoping it was just our room as we would stay again as the quality of service we received was outstanding
Lovely surroundings, great service, good food.
Highly chlorinated pool, noise echoing through public areas.
A perfect exploitation of local resources with full regard to protecting the environment. As a location of interest to all groups especially families the hotel is wonderfully situatied and perfectly executed.
Nothing to note
Good bedroom and bathroom, nice brasserie with lounge bar.
Bed quality poor, great spa, but pool would be so much better if it was bigger, and cooler for swimming. Great if just wanting a spa experience!
Our room had a superb view of the lake through full width and height windows. Staff and welcome excellent with a special mention of Kate Smith on reception.
Location was great
The rooms are clean comfortable The staff were courteous and helpful
The ventilation is poor and during our stay the rooms were hot despite using two fans. This was a great discomfort. Our group occupied rooms in two floors and a total of three rooms
Relaxed atmosphere Friendly staff
No complimentary bottled water in rooms I booked 2 rooms but the rooms were no where near one another 127 & 167 very disappointing
I liked everything except the mattress and bathroom - see opposite for reason. Thanks for a lovely time
I had spend the last two nights at two different Travelodge properties and whilst they were not as luxurious as the Four Pillars arrangement, there were two noticeable differences: 1) The mattresses were superb and the quality of the bathrooms were excellent almost looked like they were one moulded module that would last for ages. There were no ugly chrome fitments with rusty screws and ito me it looked that whilst they would have had to pay more for all this hardware, the long term return on it would be much more viable than the alternatives.
Beautiful waterside setting. Modern glazing and architecture offering the best use and views across the waterfront and raised decking allowing promenading all around. Excellent dinner, tender panfried duck breast and perfectly cooked piquant swordfish.
Pillows a bit firm.
We had a lovely relaxing sightseeing break, with exellent food in the resteraunt, staff were friendly and helpfull. A good all round base for our break.
only one area which could be improved on, the room itself. it would have benefited from a mini bar or fridge, also one bright light in the room would have been appreciated, for make up etc. And our friends bed was a bit lumpy. (But full marks, it was changed immediately after staff were told).
Hotel seemed nice with good facilities but I just needed a room for the night so didn't really utilise them.
My room was miles away from reception and signage was poor. Once I got to my room the key didn't work so I had to go all the way back to reception. Room was also boiling hot and just had a plug in fan that only seemed to blow hot air around the room. For the type of hotel this is I would definitely have expected better.
Stayed here for friends wedding. Lovely hotel, lovely staff. Would happily stay again
Didn't sleep v well. Not sure if it was me or the bed
