In the heart of the peaceful Cotswolds, this 16th-century inn is set beside scenic Ampney Brook with a wood-beamed bar and restaurant. The historic town of Cirencester is just 5 minutes’ drive away.

Relaxed atmosphere Friendly staff
No complimentary bottled water in rooms I booked 2 rooms but the rooms were no where near one another 127 & 167 very disappointing
Beautiful waterside setting. Modern glazing and architecture offering the best use and views across the waterfront and raised decking allowing promenading all around. Excellent dinner, tender panfried duck breast and perfectly cooked piquant swordfish.
Pillows a bit firm.
Hotel seemed nice with good facilities but I just needed a room for the night so didn't really utilise them.
My room was miles away from reception and signage was poor. Once I got to my room the key didn't work so I had to go all the way back to reception. Room was also boiling hot and just had a plug in fan that only seemed to blow hot air around the room. For the type of hotel this is I would definitely have expected better.
Stayed here for friends wedding. Lovely hotel, lovely staff. Would happily stay again
Didn't sleep v well. Not sure if it was me or the bed
Room / Food / Leisure facilities
Some stains on carpet.
The breakfast was full of choi es and excellent location overlooking lake
Could not fault our stay and look forward to returning
Service of all staff was exceptional. Clean and spacious room Dining was superb Huge room with solid WiFi. Check In staff were excellent
Good price and location
Very small and poor quality mattress and poor quality breakfast. Overall more of a conference centre however for the price reasonably good value
Nice large modern rooms overlooking the lake. The Spa and hydrotherapy pool is lovely.
No air con in the room which was extremely hot. They provided a fan but it was so loud it was hard to sleep either way.
A really good hotel with every facility for touring the Cotswold. The food was of nice quality and all the staff in every department were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. We have stayed here 3 times before and never disappointed.
The balcony room with a lovely view over the lake
The price of breakfast!
The view from our room was fantastic and also felt very private. The room was nice and spacious. The spa looked lovely and the treatments were great.
Not too keen on a buffet breakfast thought it would be more personal with the amount of money being paid and the reputation of four pillars hotels.
Ample parking, spacious rooms, first class room service
Aware of traffic noise from front bedroom.
This was our second visit to the Water Park Hotel and just as impressed as the first. Excellent facilities and hotel is clean throughout. Spacious room with comfortable bed. Location is good for walking or touring the area by car. Lots of interest in the many Water Park areas.
Love the room, the views, the peacefulness during the day.
No privacy on decking. Couldn;t get in the pool as the guy on reception warned us it was full of kids. My daughter had booked the Brassiere for us by was told we were in the Boathouse - that was very disappointing.
Good overall experience. Enjoyed my stay.
the internet conection is very poor they need to up grade the wi fi
Nice big room, they put up a camp bed for our boy
Nose from door
Everything was good from parking to bedroom breakfast staff cleanliness
None could not fault anything. There is nothing we could say was wrong or upsetting. Staff were very helpful
Location, facilities, food, people
A little too noisy in the evening, as door rooms make a lot of noise when they close....and it does awake you up!
The food and service were very good
The bedrooms were hot and the bathroom extractor fan did not work it soon became a sauna
- Breakfast was good, but the queues were ridiculous and wasn't offered any coffee or tea the first morning - Very quiet, nice break away from the hustle and bustle of London! - Quick check in process
- Couldn't run a bath as the plug was broken, Duty Manager said he would come back to us if he could move us to another room - he never did! - Heating was on, so very hot in the room - Beds are very soft
Shower dirty, wiring flex on iron broken, walls dirty,wi if non existant
Location. Leisure facilities. Some excellent staff
Sick stains on carpets. Booking not received by hotel. On site pub staff rude
Very pleasant staff Fantastic views of lake Great spa facilities Comfortable clean rooms Good breakfasts
