The location was superb, surrounded by a giant pond and wildlife. Nice faciliites, very modern and new. Breakfast was pleasant although service for tea and coffee was very slow. Pool and spa services nice but treatments were very expensive. My only concern with the hotel was the bed! The springs were popping through the mattress and our first night, neither of us slept, which is unfortunate as you would expect that on holiday, you would get a good nights sleep. Also, considering one is paying over £100 pn to stay here, you would expect the beds to be comfortable and of good quality. Its a shame as it really spoilt our holiday. I complained to the front desk and they said they would change the mattress but all they did was put a mattress cover on. Very disappointed. Also, bring your own pillows.

I had the impression that the hotel had been designed to give the guest exactly what they were looking for. Very relaxed atmosphere with plenty of room to sit and meet people with bar drinks, tea and coffee always available. Our room was comfortable and felt spacious with the windows looking out over the lake. The breakfasts were excellent and the service could not be faulted. We shall come again and may well try the self- catering apartment next time if we bring our 2 teenage grand-daughters. I know they would particularly enjoy the pool and sauna. This is a minor point but one you need to be aware of. The menu in the dining room in the evening was very difficult to read! The writing was too small and the print did not contrast enough with the background colour to read comfortably in the low light. Our group consisted of 2 people in their 70s and 2 in their late 40s and although all wore spectacles everyone had difficulty.

The hotel was well run and the front desk were helpful and welcoming. Our room was very nice. The automatic closer on the bathroom door was somewhat annoying. Also the continual drone of traffic from the dual carriageway spoilt the atmosphere when on our balcony it could not be heard in the room however. Excellent meal at the old boathouse.

Clean and airy and the bar food/drink/service was superb Quite noisy - door bumping from 06.30 to 22.30. The door mechanisms themselves induce noise

A good location for a "close to home" birthday celebration. The grounds and entrance are impressive, with good car parking and and a pleasing, contemporary reception / lounge and bar area. It is in a superb location on the edge of one of the many lakes of the Cotswold Water Park. The room had a nice bathroom with new fittings (hotel only opened about 3 years ago). I booked a Connoisseur room with private balcony with a lake view for one day for a birthday celebration with my wife. It was expensive but disappointing. The room reminded me of a Travelodge or Premier Inn room, with minimal clothes hanging space. The "private balcony" was not designed to allow private conversations and overlooked by other "private" balconies on an adjacent wing. Our room had a large coffee stain on the carpet. Sound-proofing of rooms and doors was poor for a modern hotel.. Food in the "gastro-pub" was OK but nothing special. Overall, I thought it was overpriced and overrated - Ive stayed in many better 3 star hotels at significantly lower prices.

The location on the lakeside gave access to many walks around the Country Park. Staff all very polite & helpful - well managed & supervised. Having chosen an hotel which we thought would be very peaceful, we were rather surprised by the large functions which went on into the early hours. The number of guests staying over meant that we were unable to book a table in the restaurant for Saturday evening at a time which would have suited us. We did manage to get a table for 6.15pm -and as children could eat for free before 7.00 pm you can imagine the type of groups in the dining room - as this was to celebrate our Ruby Wedding, it was not quite what we actually had in mind!

The hotel staff were excellent. When we checked out after a rather dreadful night, they called the Guest Relations Manager who listened very intently to our concerns and assured us he would look into the problems we had. He gave us a slight reduction in the cost and was prepared to make reparations if we ever stay again. This hotel was quite expensive and we expected better! It is situated next to a major freeway so while the rooms have a pretty outlook onto the water, it is very noisy outside on the decking. The sound insulation is non existant from the hallway so we were kept awake till nearly 4 am with noisy revellers returning to their rooms. This started up again at 7 am as they left for breakfast! It was explained that this is because fire doors can't be fitted snuggly so noise can't be kept out. Unfortunately, the design of the hotel means that many people walk past the rooms. The carpet in the room was really dirty with drink spilt on most areas. One of the television speakers was broken so that it produced a high, echoing sound. The hotel is not located well for tourists, being several kilometres away from the nearest town and is better suited to business people using the convention facilities.

The staff were very helpful & friendly, great food, the room was spacious room with a beautiful lake view, lovely spa, very clean. The area was perfect for cycling, walking & families and we discovered that one of the lake had been turned into a beach area - which would be brilliant in the summer. Loved it and we had a wonderful stay that left us relaxed and peaceful. Will definately be going back again for a longer stay as I want to take advantage of the waterskiing facilities in the spring/summer!

The Leisure facilities. The Hotel contained all of the facilities that a hotel should have, however they were not as outstanding as the reviews made out. 1)The Room was extremely hot and stuffy 2) Although booking a double room we arrived to find twin beds, this was dealt with speedily but the staff that changed the twin to a double left some sheets behind on the floor (four star standard?)

Very laid back, staff were very helpful, good looking place. Hot food could have been served later than 6pm in the main hotel area as the Boat House was understandably fully booked (New Years Eve) but we could still get cold sandwiches. Unfortunately, there were quite a few missing ingredients with our sandwiches E.g Ham and Mustard without the mustard served with crisps instead of chips - but it wasn't a big deal and all in all the hotel was great.
