Cotswold GrangePittville Circus Rd, GL52 2QH Cheltenham (Show map) Good, Score from 138 reviews“We were very happy with our choice of this hotel. It is in a fairly quiet area, but an easy walk to Cheltenham town center (less than a mile) and the main bus stop (about a mile). The rooms were very clean and the owners were just wonderful. Friendly and helpful, as was the rest of the staff.”

Booked despite some poor comments by other customers.Only stayed the 1 night but everything was good.A Nice welcome , clean room and bedding . The room was of good size- no sign of threadbare carpets!! Breakfast was a 2 sitting affair- we had the latter one due to late return from town.Food was good and good choice. On our visit- nothing to compain about at all. Would not hesitate to rebook if staying in Cheltenham again.

The free wi fi was good which is one of the reasons I stayed here I didn't like the rooms as I thought it was a modern room which it wasn'T. I didn't like the fact I had to change rooms twice one because the wi fi wouldn't connect because it was on the top floor and to far away the other because the radiator wouldnt work and the room was freezing. The three rooms I stayed in were all dated and didn't seem like a 4star hotel.

It was good location to get to race course on foot. Very friendly patrons. We booked this hotel as it had it's own resturant however it was not open neither was was the bar, if we had known this we would have chosen somewhere else as my partner is diabetic and knowing where your meal is coming from is very important. We had to drive around Chetlenham and struggled to find anywhere open as it was a bank holiday. Ended up at a fast food place as it was the only thing we could find open. It would be advantage to know that services are not available on certain days.

Small, friendly good food and walking distance to town centre. A bit quiet! Not that you want noise but few people around in the evenings.

It was close to the centre of town in a quiet leafy area. Our room was adequate for a one night stay. Breakfast was simple but well cooked. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit shabby in places and in need of a refurb. Our room was a bit tired and dated. I haven't seen an avocado bathroom in ages!

We were greeted by a very friendly lady at reception who seemed to be running the entire hotel single handedly! Dinner was sensibly priced and with a varied enough menu. Breakfast was also very pleasant, a great start to the day and worth the extra expense. The building in itself is very impressive, as are the bar area and the resteraunt (or i assume it will be when it has finished being refurbished) and is within walking distance to the town centre. There are also pubs/convinience stores nearby. The staff was also very accomdating in terms of cleaning and late check out times. A real credit to the hotel. The room we stayed in (no. 1) was terribly disappointing and had an awful colour scheme of off yellow and beige, which was like being thrown back to a cheap B&B in the 90's. Seriously in need of an update both in decor and fittings. I would question the legitimacy of a 4 star rating if all the rooms looked the same as ours. The bathroom was, again, in serious need of an update. In addition the restaraunt was also being refurbished when we visiting so there was quite a lot of noise during the day, not ideal for relaxing but understandably out of the hotels control.

This hotel was very accommodating to my last minute request for an overnight single room. It was very laid back and relaxed about my late arrival - almost too relaxed perhaps, as there was little offer of help or assistance to find my room, or carry bags. The breakfast was leisurely and again, if anything, too leisurely with a delay getting coffee or having a menu brought over, but the food was good. It is in a good location and the prices are very reasonable and this served a need. My bedroom overlooked the carpark, which was fine, and was a reasonable size. The bathroom light and fan were quite noisey, and the light flickered in the bathroom so much that I tried to use the bathroom without the light. The hotel products in the bathroom were quite low budget. It would have been nice to have had something just a touch more than basic. The bedroom was warm and cosy but the bed, mattress and pillows were not comfortable. New pillows would improve sleep enormously. Breakfast was a little too leisurely, with delays in getting coffee, or making an order, and no one said that I could help myself, so my long wait to be served, could have been avoided. My american pancakes were okay, but not brilliant. I make better myself. Perhaps I should have chosen the cooked English breakfast.

We found Cotswold Grange very comfortable and an excellent location for shopping and Cheltenham Racecourse. The breakfast was lovely and the staff very pleasant. Our room, although comfortable, was very dated and the bathroom needs a complete refit, the shower curtain was too small and did not fit the rail properly. The towels were clean but thin and also small.

This was our second stay with them and I was pleasantly surprised that we were recognized. The hotel is slightly old fashioned ( although the owner told me that during the winter some up-grading is being done) but is clean, well run and very good value. They have on-site parking, a bonus in Cheltenham, are only a ten-fifteen minute walk into town, with numerous restaurants and shops, but within ten minutes drive of wonderful countryside. We have stayed in a number of hotels in the area and are pleased to have found one that we will be returning to again.

The hotel is not bad, however it is well short of being the 4 star it is advertised as. The young couple that operate it were pleasant but I was looking for a 4 star Hotel and this was 1 or 2 star
