Made to feel very welcome even before I got through the door. Very attentive and pleasent staff. Excellent evening meal and breakfast.
We liked the staff, the facilities, the English feel. We liked the convenience to LMH, which is my son's college. We paid in $, good conversion rate no fee.
Hotel is 15 minutes walk from center of city. We would have chosen differently if we were looking at a different college.
Quiet, clean, and the pub is nice.
no fitness center Balcony door flew open twice during my stay -- very strange to say the least. Wind, perhaps.... I hope.
Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good, hotel was clean and acceptable standard. Parking outside, big bonus in Oxford.
It all was tired and needed an update in rooms and bathrooms. Shower head trickled. Pillows need changing to new down filled, room size on the small size, no extras like spa room etc. Massage etc.
Staff was excellent. Same goes for the location. Healthy walk takes you to Oxford´s center.
The friendliness of the staff and the excellent food
They let us check in early after our long flight, public sitting room very pleasant.
Room was quite small, in no way did it have a sitting area as advertised on booking.com, two people had to coordinate movements in order to get around the room, had to do some repairs on the plumbing.
Much improved breakfast from our last stay. Attentive staff. Lovely public rooms.
The price - it is really very expensive considering the rooms are not very big. Paying extra for breakfast just adds insult to injury.
The decor in both the bedroom and the public areas was tasteful, uplifting and cheerful.Beds were so comfortable.
Good location close to town centre. The room was a good size and very clean. The bed was very comfortable.
The splendid helpfulness of all the staff. The comfort of the lounge and other public rooms.
The breakfast menu had only SMOKED bacon shown, which I dislike, and unsmoked was NOT AVAILABLE. I asked for a feather pillow to replace one of my artificially-filled pillows, but I was told that these were NOT provided or available..
the atmosphere is relaxing and the staff just couldn't have been more polite or attentive - from manager to room cleaners. warm room & comfortable bed.
free wifi is only free for low speeds and having to pay for decent wifi speed is unnecessary given the price. My biggest issue is that the cooked breakfast was expensive and pretty average quality(really no better than than hotels half the price).
Staff are very courteous and couldn't fault all staff And location to Oxford town centre also ample parking
Not a bad experience but rooms in annex are like a Holiday Inn at inflated prices Also wanted to pay by American Express and was told would have to pay £9 to use my card and no indication at reception that these charges apply
Very clean, lovely staff, good location and the full english breakfast was spot on. Would recommend to friends ans family.
Friendly, professional staff always ready to help. Nice clean room and public areas. One night stay only, for family wedding. Would love to return for a longer stay.
Room on second floor so lots of stairs - understandable in building of this vintage.
Comfortable and pretty room. Although hotel was very busy catering for a wedding, staff were busy but still attentive to us.
The decor is tired, the bathroom was terrible, cracked floor tiles, shower door falling to pieces and full of dirt and limescale. Tiny cramped room, lights took ages to become bright enough to see, the wifi is listed as free, it is but it is very slow, you have to pay extra for fast broadband. I could hear every noise from other rooms, especially from above. I paid £25 for a meal but was delayed 2.5hrs due to an accident on M6. Told the kitchen was closed and not offered anything to eat. £9.00 for a continental breakfast!!!! Never again!
Staff Amazing !!! Breakfast superb !!! Little investment and we got a 10/10
My 2 guests were very pleased with the hotel ambience and its location so close to the City Centre.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Room much more modern and attractive than website photos.
Staff were very helpful and friendly . I left my phone charger and when I went back they had found my computer as well . It was all there at reception .
Could not find anything to complain about .
Helpful staff, great location, lovely breakfast
Ideally situated for Oxford City Centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant comfortable and food very good. We looked forward to returning to the welcoming surroundings of the hotel after our trips out each day.
Rooms were clean, the bed was comfy except the pillows which were completely flat. Wifi was reliable. Staff were helpful.
We stayed in the first floor of a two-floor complex. It was renovated but the walls were wooden. No sound isolation. I woke up several times because the person upstairs was just walking in his room. The ventilator in next door's bathroom or water pipes when somebody showers can be heard and it is loud. Not so good for a peaceful stay in a 4 star (!) hotel.
Being close to City centre and well serviced bus route ,also easy walking distance
Lack of lift
