The quality and cleanliness of the room we stayed in was excellent. Also the reception staff were very professional and helpful. We would definitely stay at this hotel again when we re-visit Oxford. |

The bedrooms were classically decorated and warm. They had a lot of character The food in the restaurant was not up to the standard I would have expected. |

It was a very comfortable stay, staff were attentive and helpful. Although the breakfast was only £10 I have to say that it was the worst that I have ever been served |

The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. Bedrooms delightfully furnished, very comfortable and clean. Dinner and breakfast very good indeed. Lounge and bar comfortable and inviting. My three friends and I loved it and we would definitely stay there again. One of my friends was on crutches because of an accident and was immediately moved into a ground floor room near the public rooms and reception. The kindness and consideration of the staff was exemplary and very touching. Service in the bar was very good, but bar food was not very good. We arrived too late for lunch, so this was disappointing. It might have been just a glitch on that particular day. |

Excellent room for the money. Modern, clean and a very good size for a single (Room 60). Very good location and ample parking. No complaints at all. |

Location and cocktail bar A generally comfortable room was detracted from due to a little lack of cleanliness and cracked floor tiles in the bathroom. Some staff were excellent, a few were frankly unhelpful and behaved as if hotel guests were an inconvenience. Heating was only available from "7.30pm" which didn't help in a very cold room at 5pm |

Staff were helpful and friendly. The main part of the hotel was very pleasant. The location was good for walking and exploring Oxford The room we were allocated was like a motel room with the only access direct from a courtyard, so we were exposed to the elements each time we left the room. Ours was not 4 star accommodation although the rest of the hotel was. |

Very large room, with big comfortable bed and nicely presented. Easy walking distance to the city centre and the oxford new theatre. Plenty of free car parking which was good. No iron and ironing board in the room which was annoying, had to go down to reception and ask for one. Paid £100 for the room, for this price feel it should have included breakfast which was £12 extra. |

We had the best cooked steaks of our lives - delicious. Good attentive staff and good ambience provided by fixtures, fittings and historical nature of original building. |

The hotel was a beautiful quiet hotel only 10 mins walk from the city centre, I liked that it wasn't to modern even though it had just been refurbished it still has its elegence and comfort about it. The bar was somewhere you could sit and relax as though you were in your own home. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The only thing I would comment on was our bed, the room itself was lovely, spacious and very clean, however the bed I think may have been slightly broken and felt rather uncomfortable and very hard which was a shame. |

The friendly staff were very welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable. The location was in walking distance to the city centre. The food and particularly the breakfast was extremely poor. We were charged £9.00 for breakfast and it was burnt and over cooked. Our room had a broken pipe in the sink. Water spilt all over the floor and the only remedy given was to place towels on the floor. |

The staff were absolutely first rate, friendly and professional. Lunch in the restaurant was also first rate from both a food and service point of view. The only fault I would say was that it was quite cold in the bar and in my room. The heating had not been switched on and it was a fairly chilly October evening. I didn't mention it (maybe I should have!). |
