Dating back to 1860, The Dog in Over Peover is in the heart of the quaint village. This typical village inn offers a restaurant and a pub serving real local and national ales.

was a little bit expensive
liked the spa facilities and thecstaff really looked after you
Not so much a bad point, but I was expecting the spa area to be relaxing. There were alot of families/children visiting (but it was bank holiday) and couldn't really relax there.
The rooms are beautifully decorated & facilities in them great. Loved the coffee machine and made good use of it!
breakfast is a bit expensive, should be included in the price
the pool, the breakfast, the room service and nice touches, like cookies and milk for the kids and the bed linen, the quick room service and very helpful staff
loud guests (nothing to blame the hotel for though) and housekeeping knocked on the door at 8.15 am on a Saturday morning. Recepetion staff was very understanding though and gave us a discount on our bill. Food and drinks at the restaurant and bar seem a little bit too pretentious and overpriced to me.
Very nice spa and spacious rooms. Good location, close to Manchester Airport.
Rooms could do with a refresh.
Good food, great pool, Sky sports in your room.
Air con didn't seem to work in bedroom - a little bit warm for my liking
Ideal location to travel on to workplace plus very comfortable bed - best night sleep had in years!
Could hear the people in the next room - as if they were in the same room!
Rooms lovely , comfy beds Nice spa
Standard and comfort of rooms. Friendliness of staff. Location
Only bad points were the noise, you could hear everything going on in the corridors and rooms next door. The shower in the room went hot and cold very often making it slightly uncomfortable, and the cotton's bar shockingly expensive!
We stayed in the four poster bed suite, and it was excellent. The bed was possibly the comfiest bed we've ever stayed in. Spa and leisure facilities were excellent also, warm swimming pool, sauna and steam room all perfect and jacuzzi was heaven. 5 minute drive to the centre of Knutsford and 20 minute walk to Tatton Park (roughly!) Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
There were a lot of children running round the pool unsupervised and diving across swimmers, which was unexpected. It wouldn't matter to me but I think 'spa' implies something for the grown ups, maybe this should be made clearer, is it a 'family spa', let's say? There were only a small number of loungers and as there were two hen party groups in the spa at the time, we were unable to enjoy lounging by the pool. The facilities were great, but the atmosphere in the pool wasn't, it could do with some more tranquil lighting and some gentle background music to set the atmosphere. The main reason for our stay was to relax and use the spa facilities so I feel it is worth mentioning.
Staff service fantastic, especially Mike on reception. Excellent selection for breakfast. Pool facilities were good: one whirlpool, one hot tub 15m pool and a steam room and sauna for a max of 8 people at once.
Service at the restaurant was awful! Waiting 45 mins for some drinks and over 80 mins for some food. Terrible especially when we booked a 6pm sitting so our son (3 yrs old) could have his dinner early, finally finished eating at 10pm!!
The waiting staff in the restaurant were particularly unhelpful. I asked for my son's meal to come early and was given quite a look - it made me feel uncomfortable asking for anything else. The room amenities were just basically the same as a Premier Inn. We had to pay extra for breakfast which is usually standard elsewhere
The hotel was really clean and well appointed in terms of facilities (pool, restaurant, spa). The tv and other room amenities were pretty standard.
Tried calling restaurant for room service as requested three with no reply - restaurant was v quiet and empty when i decided to eat there instead (9pm). Food was good though. But if you offer room service, support it. Breakfast eggs and salmon was poor.
Quality of facilities, cleanliness, spa, food at dinner and availability of a half bottle of sancerre (rarity). Staff in spa very welcoming. Good conference room size and breakout facilities for seminar that I was presenting at the following day of my overnight stay
Bars prices are extortionate in my view. £7.25 for medium glass of wine or £11.75 for a large glass! Yes a glass!!! Charging these prices and then serving vinegar in a sarsons bottle, in bar and main restaurant is not on. Also I had delicious fish mixed grill for dinner - no fish knife, and lady next to me eating steak without a steak knife! These little touches make a big impact when you're paying high prices!!
Room was nice, well equipped and clean. Food was delicious. Staff lovely and friendly. Hotel decor modern, classy and clean. Very nice hotel.
Friendly staff, excellent facilities. We will be back soon.
I thought booking here for valentines was a good idea but on arriving at the car park the disappointment on my wife's face was apparent. I had paid for a larger room with a four poster. It was all just a bit dated and rough around the edges. Cheap four poster from the 80's. Very interesting and enjoyable mirror on the ceiling, but featuring random flowers painted on it. Saggy sofas and chairs past there best. Dated bathroom. Tables and chairs in dining room were falling apart. Not up to high standards even for a man from stoke, never mind Cheshire!
Breakfast was the only saving grace.
Fantastic hotel, expensive but you get what your money's worth
A man could die of thirst waiting to get a drink from the hotel bar 'take a seat sir and we'll bring your drinks over' really ... 3 times i had to ask for them, the ineptitude of the staff was incomprehensible and when the drinks did eventually arrive you couldn't help feeling really ripped off at £15 for two house reds - poor show.
The hotel is nice enough and looks to have had a recent refurb. Food was good and reception staff helpful.
No mobile phone reception. Frosty reception in restaurant at 9.15pm - too close to closing. Waited 11 mins to check out - only 1 person on desk. A hotel that seems to have lost its focus on customers.
Nothing. It was a very ordinary hotel.
Smoke alarm above bed kept me awake at night coz of flashing red lights.
It was ok the hotel.
As above. Also waited an hour for desert there was a wedding and two hen parties staying at the same time. Felt we were ignored asked two members of staff where our desert was and they failed to return to us and inform use where it was.
Treatment was nice however we were not allowed to check in until 2pm-treatment was at 3pm then I was told not to use the pool spa sauna steam room due to the treatment I had very disappointing.
Was automatically charged for breakfast when we didn't have it. this was sorted when I pioneer it out to staff.
Welcoming staff Good bar Great food
Lovely relaxing break in a calming and comfortable environment
Very friendly, helpful staff. Lovely lunch in the restaurant and delicious breakfast. Enjoyed the leisure facilities, especially the outdoor jacuzzi!
Our room smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke. We had to send our breakfasts back - barely cooked poached eggs with a lot of raw white, and a plate of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon which arrived with a lot of liquid on the plate. We weren't charged for breakfast but we left hungry.
The staff were very efficient and friendly, the evening bar staff in particular. The location was very convenient for breaking a long car journey.
