Lovely quiet peaceful location
There seemed to be a party on Saturday night that we did not get told about . As a result there were kids running up and down the corridor on Saturday not only making noise from the running but talking and laughing. The party was noisy and went on til midnight with no consideration for the rest of us. The cigarette smoke from the party goers was smelling in the room. The point for choosing the manor was peace and quiet but it was spoilt
My friend and I needed a quiet catch up..our room over looked the room where a loud party was being held, and large groups of people were smoking below our window, which made our room unbearable. I spoke to three members of staff, who were not interested..i even invited the duty manager to our room - nothing I can do he said and left...he suggested I talk to gm in the morning who wasnt there when I enquired...how rude!!!!
Lovely place to stay, excellent staff and very good room service and food.
Very tired, needs some renovation.
in the middle of major refurbishment,( not informed prior)_ no numbers on any doors, woken first thing by hammer drill and banging. no vegetarian option on breakfast menu, very poor food.
Breakfast was very good
Wallpaper peeling off / missing in corridors and very bad stains on the ceiling and wall of the bedroom
The staff were great.
The grounds were dilapidated - especially the tennis courts.
Nice simple layout of the location, comfortable beds and a general nice feel to the hotel.
Night we arrived, there was a function on till 12 at night. Noise was loud and pounding in the room at times. Bathrooms need a little modernising.
Polite staff Tea/coffee tray in room Hot water Quiet in rooms despite function/party downstairs
Decoration rather tired Lovely gold lift doors were unpolished!
Plenty of tea, sugar etc. good outlook.
The double bed in our room had seen better days, it was most uncomfortable.
Nice place for a party. My sis in law celebrated her 40th there and a lot of our party stayed the night. Reception staff very helpful.
Would have expected free WiFi. Their prices are a bit steep £5 per hour.
The stay was nice, and the location was good.
The beds were really uncomfortable, no phone in the bedroom, and couldn't plug the kettle in the plug where it was situated had to use the plug all the way over over side of room to boil
Late check in, good location
Very outdated, noise in the middle of the night due to air condition in the hallway , no sense whatsoever with sockets in the room( couldn't plug my straightener or kettle next to the table) no remote control for tv. Raised the issues with management and was promised an email from them but never received one. Not happy with this hotel. Avoid if you can.
Excellent stay! Perfect location for where I needed to be.
Nothing to dislike
Loved the 4 poster bed it was v.romantic, beautiful grounds and great location.
Overall our stay was good. Friendly staff an d helpfull
We were told that breakfast is complementary but were charged when we checkout.
Room size, friendly staff, breakfast.
Corridors to room had worn carpets, and wallpaper coming off walls. Worn out carpet at entry to the room. Taps had covers removed. The place needs a facelift and it would be excellent.
Room was clean if not rather basic.
It would have been good to know it was in middle of renovation. Carpets all covered in polythene, etc which wasn't ideal when paying £85 a night.
We booked last minute and checked in a few hours later. We'd booked a double with an extra bed (we have a 3 year old and 18 month old) and when checking in we were told we'd been upgraded free of charge to the huge Highgrove suite!! We were so surprised but delighted at Claudia!
Nothing-food was great, staff extremely attentive especially friendly with kids!
Good food helpful staff
All was good. No reason to criticise
Food was good Staff were polite and helpful. Rooms quite large and spacey.
Leisure facilities - sauna and steam room were not working. Gym was well equipped but run down, and changing rooms like a school changing room. Walk between the leisure centre and Hotel very poorly lit. Got no sleep the first night due to very noise from other rooms. No TV remote control in the room. Hair dryer broken and replacement burnt out on switching on. Poor lighting in rooms.
I asked for a quiet room I commented to a member of staff that there was a thrumming noise - he said it was the fan from the kitchen and would stop at 10pm. It went on all night I had about 3 hours sleep and have asked for a refund - they do not answer their emails
Breakfast was excellent
The room that we had the mattress was flat one side as was the divan, this resulting in a nights sleep on the side of a cliff.
Terrible wi-fi connection in rooms; bad noise of deliveries early in the morning; no salad option at meals.
Prepaid and got good price of £72 nice room service food evening meal and breakfast, a comfortable stay.
Probably due for a re-furb in places but couldn't complain for the price.
