No hot water. Room was so dirty. Noisy at night. The hotel states that it's free for WiFi, but the receptionist said that we had to pay 2pounds per person for the service (can be seen at the reception). Fortunately, we printed out the document which could be proven that it was free.

Absolutely nothing Over the last two years we have stayed in more that 70 places in uk and Europe and this has to be the worst place by a country mile. The "no smoking" room stank of cigarette smoke and cigarette butts filled the window ledge. A charming rodent trap welcomed us on the floor near the bed. The furniture and carpet would be rejected by a charity shop. The bed had stained brown sheets that had seen better days If you are thinking about staying here, don't is my only recommendation

Absolutely nothing !!! The hotel was akin to a slum. My advice to booking.com is to remove it from your list as this will not be the first unfavorable comments you will receive. The Hotel was filthy dirty , the rooms and bedding were equally dirty and the thick smell of tobacco was in every room , including the family room. It was disgusting!!!! The top floor was being repainted and fumes were going thru the entire hotel , yet this was seen as ok ??? The windows were smashed, the wiring looked unsafe and to be frank it was a slum - never again !!!

It was close to Stratford and the reception person was adaptable in the allocation of a room, and very helpful. It was too close to a very busy main road, had tiny rooms and poor facilities.

The only thing gojng for this hotel is location, location, location. The hotel needs to be re-furbished as it looked fantastic on your website but its nothing of that sort. The rooms are not that clean, the floor sqeaks when walking and the worse are the beds. Its like sleeping on bare springs...one can hardly feel the mattress only the springs. I would not stay there a second time.

Overall I think the standard of this hotel in general is poor. Breakfast was very very poor.Room cleaning over 6 nights was carried out just once. No sheet change. No towel change. The shower sink is obstructed by the tap and you can hardly wash your face without injuring yourself by the tap. It protudes out leaving no room to get close to the sink. All in all I think the authorities should close this hotel down.

Absolutely nothing! The best thing about our stay was leaving I would classify this hotel the worst I have ever encountered, on arrival no room was available. Had to use another hotel. Returned to countryside hotel the following day to find the room filthy, the beds broken and the shower dangerous. We had no sleep. Advertised as 10 mins from tube station, (30 mins minium).

1. Distance to underground, not as claimed > 1km. 2. continental breakfast terribly, slices of bread, margarine and jam + some cereal only! 3. 3 times I came back late and no one at reception, only after 10-15 minutes after ringing somebody came, then friendly however !? 4. small dirty room, no cleaning under bed. 5. shower cabin formula 1-style but ready to be replaced.

It can only be described as a budget hotel that provides a roof over your head, conveniently positioned within 20 minutes walking distance to Stratford Station and with buses outside direct to Oxford Circus and points on the way.Being on the roadside can be noisy and there are no pubs, restaurants close by. The staff were excellent however and very helpful. If anyone is not too fussy then this Hotel fulfills a purpose and I would use it again Breakfast could have been more varied but there was tea and coffee for those who wanted it all day long.

The Countryside Hotel (a name which I assume is ironic given it's location?) is not somewhere I will ever be staying again. The first thing is that it's claim of being a 10min walk from Stratford tube/DLR/rail station is nonsense. It might be possible to run it in 10mins, but I would say 25mins is more accurate for a brisk walking pace. Then the hotel itself; I didn't think a hotel charging £35 for a nights stay could be a rip off, but they have managed it. My expectation was for basic accommodation, but the room had graffiti on the wall above the bed, was generally filthy (and I mean FILTHY not just dirty) and it had a rat trap in the corner of the room (a nice touch, not had one of those in a hotel room before). It felt like I was staying in a squat, rather than a hotel. A dive of the highest order, avoid like the plague!
