The friendly staff
could do with a lick of paint
The staff went right out of their way to be helpful and friendly, and are very well informed.
easy to find,staff realy helpfull
noise of the road, and the fact water would not go down sink not good for a wash
In the morning there was just one lady serving at the reception and in the restaurant. This was not convenient for her neither for the guests. Very limited breakfast offer.
Everything else. The decor was falling apart, it was dirty, the beds were uncomfortable, the shower rails were rusty and bathroom units falling apart. If you arrive in the dark and leave early for a ferry it's ok at best for its location, otherwise never again.
Excellent price, friendly staff, clean room.
Skeleton staff, no shower gel or shampoo. Dirty glasses at breakfast.
Very close to the ferry, I liked the atmosphere of old times.
Mattresses on the beds need changing. Or maybe the beds, the place needs refurbishment.
swimming pool, nice clean and spacefull room, 24h reception, good locality - we found it in a minute, free hotel parking
wi-fi didn't work, beds should be more comfortable, but it wasn't that bad :-)
position of hotel, staff friendly and helpful.
Noise from traffic, old bathroom, big dip in the middle of the bed.
Leaving was definitely the best part. The location was close to the Ferry Terminal as its only saving grace.
Everything. It was dingy, depressing and dated. We understand it is due for demolition soon. This will be a huge improvement.
Nice size room
Smell of smoke in corridor and lifts TV outdated and viewed via top box
On arrival had contact with Paul. He was very pleasant and could not do enough to ensure we were happy. As asset to any business, in ensuring the client was catered for - to the best of his ability. Julie, who was on duty 01/11 a.m. was a credit to the hotel. Without these two staff I think the hotel would literally 'Fold'. Well done Paul & Julie!!!
Was allocated a room and when we went in, it had not been cleaned from the previous client. On complaining, we were taken to another room on the 4th floor. The bed was dreadful - my husband and I were 'thrown' together in the centre, as the bed sagged so much. Every movement could have woken the whole of the hotel as the bed made so much noise. Not a hotel to keep in mind for a further visit.
Staff were friendly and helpful The location was very convenient for the town centre and the ferry terminal.
It is on the main road to the ferry terminal. Whilst the room was generally clean, it did feel down at heel and in need of decoration.
room was clean and reasonably large to be comfortable for 3 people. Well sound protected from continual traffic on main road outside provided windows were closed.
bedroom far too hot. Could hear almost every word from neighbouring room although we were fortunate that they settled down at a reasonable time so was not too much of a problem in our instance. Unable to leave windows open for fresh air due to continual traffic noise from main road.
The pool was a nice touch, lovely and warm, as was the gym but we didn't use it. The staff were friendly, the location was fab near castle, sea and town centre. 20 minute walk to train station. Tea and coffee supplied with kettle.
Felt a bit like a university dorm and quiet dated e.g. decor, facilities were rather old. Breakfast overpriced and beds lumpy and springy. No toiletries supplied at all e.g. mini shower gels. If you have time for TV, the reception was bad.
it was very good for the town and the ferry port
White Coffee with 2 sugar
Flat pillows and hard mattress
No real safe parking Staff very ignorant (swearing and cursing in front of children at other guest) Strange men hanging about corridors. Felt unsafe. Shower didn't work TV didn't work. Restaurant was closed due to not having a chef (apparently). Breakfast was served but was rather sparse also room and staff unwelcoming. No hot water, when we complained we got a grudging apology and told they would inform maintenance.
Staff pleasant, hotel grotty..
Dated hotel that could use a refit but it's never going to happen as it's ear marked for demolition in the future ...
Good location for ferry crossings
Bar and restaurant was closed on a Friday night due to no staff???, after a long drive. The bathroom was unclean still had urine in toilet, clearly had not been cleaned. Outside appearance looked very run down
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was very spacious with a good balcony. Parking was very appropriate!
The cars going past at night made it hard to sleep
Uncomfortable bed, leaking toilet
The restaurant was closed, had to find one nearby.
