Late arrival so no comment
Room was too warm even though no heating on. Could not open windows as too noisy with trucks in and out of the docks.
Room was big, all essentials included. Location great if you using ferry.
Road noise but that can't be helped due to location.
Staff were very nice.
It's pretty run down, a lot of immigrants needing temporary housing were based there. OK but not ideal.
only one pillar each( to low for sleeping) asked for a wake up call at to catch 7-10 ferry to calias but not received would have had to re-book at an extra cost if ferry not running 1.5 hours late due to bad weather. would not use again
Receptionists were very friendly and certainly "pro hotel". Room was changed to one higher in the building so we didn't hear so much noise from lorries which had been stacked due to strike on ferries. Price was good.
Despite requests from hotel, guests were still smoking in upper rooms and a still smouldering cigarette end was dropped on us from above as we went out. Breakfast could have been better but was adequate for our needs.
The staff were very friendly, breakfast was very nice, the bar was comfortable, the towels & bed sheets were lovely & clean.
The lights went out in our room & the night porter didn't know how to locate the fuse box, he moved us to another room. The telephones were really dirty, the anti-slip mat for in the shower was filthy.
Location great for the Ferry. You know what you are getting and for a 1 night stay it was ok.
Doubles up as a homeless shelter. Though clean as in clean sheets and vacuumed etc, there were some suspect stains on quilts, floor and walls.
the location is great for the town and port the next morning I went to my car and found I had a flat tyre the night porter gave me a address to have a new tyre replacement I was so great full many thanks
the place could do with a lick of paint and a clean up
From the outside the Hotel architecture is grim looking and obviously 60s concrete, but inside although the corridors could do with a lick of paint it's much nicer. The room was fine and the pool excellent.
These days hotel double beds are usually king size. This was a standard double so next time we'll book a twin room.
Firstly the staff were great, friendly helpful and I felt were slightly embarrassed by the hotel. Very near the ferry terminal which was great, but with a 7am ferry no chance to have breakfast at the hotel. We paid £40 for a double room, pays your money takes your choice.Thank goodness for the staff.
Hotel grubby, intimidating (lots of what looked like asylum seekers in reception) really has seen better days. Sadly this could be a really well situated hotel but it is really in need of TLC.
Bar was open 24/7. Location ideal Free parking
Room was too hot
Good price, warm and comfortable, very friendly staff. Close to Dover port.
Not much car parking
Restaurant not open unless pre booked but was not aware of this at time of booking.
Clean and comfortable if a bit "tired" Breakfast good value
Getting a bit run down (I believe it is due to be demolished as part of Dover regeneration plans in the area) However it is kept very clean and staff are great
the location to the town and port
the place is in need of a mighty clean up the beds need changing and the comfort of the place makes you feel uneasy
The friendly staff
could do with a lick of paint
The staff went right out of their way to be helpful and friendly, and are very well informed.
easy to find,staff realy helpfull
noise of the road, and the fact water would not go down sink not good for a wash
In the morning there was just one lady serving at the reception and in the restaurant. This was not convenient for her neither for the guests. Very limited breakfast offer.
Everything else. The decor was falling apart, it was dirty, the beds were uncomfortable, the shower rails were rusty and bathroom units falling apart. If you arrive in the dark and leave early for a ferry it's ok at best for its location, otherwise never again.
Excellent price, friendly staff, clean room.
Skeleton staff, no shower gel or shampoo. Dirty glasses at breakfast.
Very close to the ferry, I liked the atmosphere of old times.
Mattresses on the beds need changing. Or maybe the beds, the place needs refurbishment.
swimming pool, nice clean and spacefull room, 24h reception, good locality - we found it in a minute, free hotel parking
wi-fi didn't work, beds should be more comfortable, but it wasn't that bad :-)
position of hotel, staff friendly and helpful.
Noise from traffic, old bathroom, big dip in the middle of the bed.
Leaving was definitely the best part. The location was close to the Ferry Terminal as its only saving grace.
Everything. It was dingy, depressing and dated. We understand it is due for demolition soon. This will be a huge improvement.
