location to ferry port
dated hotel in real need of updating and air conditioning, cheap and nasty matresses, stained carpets, would not stay here agian
Total refurbishment required. Beds are old and lumpy. Place is very dark and lights required throughout the building even on the brightest of days.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
The hotel had a stale smell. Bed linen was poor with a really old blanket. Bedroom needed a good clean. Room was tired and dated. Tv had a buzzing noise.
Location very close to beach and ferry. Staff very good.
Pool changing rooms need a make over.
Old and run down, completly out of date. No heating on only when it suits the hotel, TV not working had to move room.
used bed linen
Busy A20 outside with lorries coming off the ferries, with both sets of windows shut, no noise
Swimming pool was lovely staff were amazing, amazingly clean and tidy. Would recommend to everyone.
The outside needed sprucing up to make more appealing as looked dirty and messy and in finished. If that was changed it would be an amazing place for people to stay .
Helpful staff. Easy reach of ferry terminal.
All a bit 'tired'. Shower didn't work. The view from the window was disheartening.
When we got there the phone was broken and the TV had no remote. After coming to fix TV we had to watch the TV with a big box of writing in the middle of the TV. The beds were horrible, only a flat pillow per person. They wouldn't give out anymore to us. Hair on the floor and very grim. The sink was clogged aswell. I have stayed in many hotels and this was the worst stay we had, all we could do was laugh at the experience
Breakfast was good start to the day with staff very helpful
In need of a refurb the hotel is very tired and dated, bathroom was not particularly nice, swimming pool also needs an uplift
Very reasonably priced and clean.
Right next to the main road and lots of traffic noise throughout the night.
Nice hotel with pool only minutes away from port. The hotel is a little dated and looks like a concrete jungle from outside but for the price I would use again.
very close to ferry port, only 3 mins away
poor parking, not many spaces. asked for extra pillows but was told none available
Convinient to the Ferry Port. The staff was very friendly and helpfull.
The comfort is not the very best, but it was an O.K. Value for Money.. a shame that the Restaurant was not open. TV didn´t work in the Hotel room but the staff was helpfull getting the TV sorted in the bar area. THX for that.
Staff was welcoming
Bathroom wasn't clean, fungus near swimming pool and the bedding was quite old looking, and rusty towel rails
The staff were a delight
The County Hotel is obviously in an area due to be demolished and I understand why the proprietors do not spend money on the upkeep. According to the local newspaper it is going to happen next spring, the sooner the better for Dover
Helpful staff. Location
The hotel is in need of refurbishment, but to balance that, it is cheap
The proximity to East Dock for ferry terminal.
The bathroom was filthy and hadn't been cleaned properly for months. No facility for ordering newspapers. Noisy occupants above.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
The hotel was old and very run down,in my room both beds we're broke with legs falling off and when we lay down they dipped in the middle and you felt like you were rolling to the middle. The bathroom was dirty and run down with broken tiles and cracks in the sink.
Location and very friendly staff.
Looked like a hostel. Reception was a huge cavernous space with only three couches around the perimeter to sit on. The TV was at least twenty years old and didn't work. The hotel is on a very very busy road so the road noise is bad if the window is open...it was a hot night. The bed was like lying on a board....The only positive is that it is very near the ferry terminal at Dover.
No wifi in rooms
Most things but the bed was clean
