Just a 2-minute covered walk from the Glasgow Airport Terminal Building, this Holiday Inn Express has luggage trolleys, a 24-hour front desk and on-site parking. The hotel is just off the M8 highway.
Score from 572 reviews Excellent
The quality of the meals was fine but the quantity of food was too much which detracted from the overall foogood impression
Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and their family. All our requests were dealt with quickly and with a smile. Really nice friendly people and the curry was excellent! Will definitely return.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, the breakfast was lovely, very generous portions. The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable.
The room didn't have a mirror (only a small one in the bathroom) this would have made a big difference. The shower only had a curtain rather than a screen or door so it was difficult not to get the bathroom floor wet when showering.
Rooms were spotless, shower was spacious and clean, owners were friendly and helpfull.
Rooms could do with updating
Staff were friendly and most helpful Room very comfortable Lovely modern fitted bathroom Breakfasts delicious and made to order TV in room with sport chanel so I could catch up on missed events at Commonwealth Games very easy access to Glasgow Close to Helensburgh a pretty seaside town Station only 10 minutes walk away
Towels could have been bigger in bathroom
Beds were comfortable Clean room Tea etc Very good breakfast
Reception area - dark and unwelcoming Bedroom rather small - but OK for 1 night Staff were polite but not very engaging
A clean comfortable room with a comfortable bed. Freindly staff and a good breakfast.
Our room had a bath with very old-fashioned fittings and a hand-held shower - fine for washing hair but no good for a shower. The 2 shelves in our room were coming off the wall!
I have been in many hotels over the past 5 years and I have to say I have never felt more at home than I do here. We only booked for 4 nights originally but ended up staying for 11 nights. It is a family run business and the inn keepers can't do enough for their guests. The breakfasts are awesome. Fresh juice and lots of choices and if you ask for something ie I asked if they had black pudding , they didn't but next day there it was on my plate, also they brought in gluten free bread for my husband when they found out he has celiac. It's little things like that that make a holiday. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and if and when we comeback to Helensburgh we will be staying here again. I believe I have made life long friends. Also the housekeeper Li is awesome and really helpful.
The hotel is a nightmare, the perfect location for an horror movie.
The hotels location was easy to find, plenty of parking spaces for the car. Fast check in no problems, shown to our twin room. Modern up to date decor, tea & coffee making facilities in room. Good wi fi connection in our room. On suite shower room, with shampoo, shower gel, hair conditioner and moisturiser bottles. Good full English breakfast in dining room, had really nice evening meal, Madras curry from the next door 'Curry Club' takeaway. The hotel owner showed us the menu, took our order, collected and served the meal with a nice cold beer in the dining room. Check out was handled efficiently paid by credit card. Great value for money hotel, nice staff. Only two minutes in the car from the seaside town centre of Helensburgh, park on the pier to walk around.
There was only one chair in twin room and no table, one of us had to sit on bed. Room overall was quite small to fit everything in it, there was a small low table for the electric kettle, tea & coffee making facilities. Bathroom sink way to small, for a proper wash, and toilet was set to close to wall for sitting on. Flat screen tv was quite small and very high up near to ceiling on a bracket, only way to watch it was lying on bed. I felt it needed two bedside lights for reading a book.
Good location. Comfortable room, great bed. Breakfast excellent always freshly cooked to order. Knowledge of the hosts of local area/ transport etc. Good parking. Friendly owners.
A more comfortable bar area would be nice where you could sit in the evenings.
When u check out the hotel they have a daft policy of making you wait for 10mins so they can go check the room and the staff argue bk instead of controlling the situation
Provided toiletries, late night restaurant next door, comfy bed, close to train station, parking
A bit expensive
Reasonable price, easy to find and excellent for travel into Glasgow by train for the Commonwealth Games.Good Breakfast
Appearance of car park and reception - looks a bit tired.
Friendly staff who went out of their way to help with information, needs and facilities.
The room, friendly staff and the food.
Fantastic place to stay. Clean and tidy room with plenty of space and very comfortable beds. Great power shower in the bathroom. Our stay was further enhanced by the really helpful staff and it's location is so easy to get to from the local station in just a few minutes.
Could do with a table and extra chair for the twin room we were in, but that didn't detract from the stay as the room was fine as it was. It could also do with a more attractive sign for the hotel as it doesn't reflect the quality of the accommodation within.
Upon booking in, we were asked if we'd like to preorder breakfast. We asked about bacon, whether smoked or not, were asked what we like and at breakfast discovered that everything we had mentioned had been done, exactly the way we wanted. Very impressed. Well done.
Mattress a little tired.
location and friendly staff
there was an unpleasant smell in reception, stairway and corridor to rooms. Breakfast/presentation could be improved An attachment for shower head on the wall would be useful curtains were flimbsy
Car parking available.
We had booked for two nights and after the first night had expected the beds to be made, towels changed and supplies of tea etc in room replenished. None of this happened. One of the twin beds sounded like a spring had gone Noise from tv in other parts of hotel late at night made sleep difficult The breakfast was way below par Not much 'rapport' with staff/owners who were nice enough but did not seem to know how to deal with customers Altogether a disappointing stay
Friendly warm welcome, clean room with excellent facilities, great food
Staff were friendly, and obliging.
There is too much noise from the road traffic and the railway.
I thought the staff were very helpful and kind.
We liked Rocky who made our stay very fun and the food (indian) was the best we ever had!
Great breakfast Friendly staff
No fridge in room.
