The price and ample parking space. The room was 'tired' and very noisey, the carpet was heavily stained and the bathroom towels did not smell very fresh.

Nice staff, free car parking, very central location. Quite a bad smell of piss throughout the Hotel, especially on the ground floor. No security at rear or front of hotel, even late at night, anyone can wander in off the street (and do!). Fire doors on 2nd floor slam very loudly, keeping you awake.

The room was very dated. There were big iron marks all over the floor. The noise from outside was deafening and we were up till after 3am with it.

Good location for city centre and railway station. The staff were helpful and friendly and the service in the restaurant was efficient and quick. The rooms were nice and warm. The tv in the bedroom was too small and too high up on the wall. The net curtains at the windows were a bit dingy looking. Carpets on stairs a bit worn in places.

Location near to station and in city centre. Room was far too hot and heating could not be switched off. The shower on the other hand was too cold. The breakfast was very basic and the food was not fresh (disgusting coffee).

The Hotel is ideally suited for a visit to Carlisle. The staff were very nice and professional. The facilities were of a good standard and the breakfast was wholesome and tasty. We would stay there again. Decour starting to look tired.

Great location Ideal for shopping or socialising with friends as its 2 mins from the train station, 5 mins walk to the main shopping district and the bars and restaurants are right outside the front door. Only downside you could say us that if you stay on the front half of the hotel at the weekend you will get all the noise from people leaving the bars in the early hours of the morning. You can ask the staff on reception though for a room at the back though. Some rooms are abit out dated

I am originally from Carlisle and like to return as often as I can to visit family and friends there. The County Hotel is perfectly situated for me in the city centre, and the secure car park is a bonus.I Have stayed there many times over the last six years or so. The only bad experience I have had was on my latest visit at Easter this year when although I was located in a room at the back of the hotel the noise from the disco across the street was unbearable and went on until 4 A.M.i feel this is a major problem for the hotel and will be seeking accommodation elsewhere in future.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming; the atmosphere calm and restful. Value for money on a cheap weekend break was excellent. We were not too keen on the use of tinned tomato and mushroom for breakfast!

The location was fantastic, just outside the train station and within walking distance to all local ammenaties From the outside it to be honest looks very un loved and I thought what have I booked!!!!!! The enterance was in times gone by quite majestic but does need a lot of tlc. On arrival there was no-one on reception but when the manager did arrive she was very help full and friendly. Our room was huge totally unexpected making me more relaxed..the toilet didnt flush but was soon fixed, plenty of information in the reception area ..breakfast very good comfy bed but not a good nights sleep due to the pub outside and people in other rooms shouting at all hours ,having said all that as a base I would stay there again but think they should reduce there price just a little .
